Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and MLC Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose have stated that he is happy to admit the dismissal of the Council. The YSRCP leader opined that the past chief minister NTR has earlier rejected under the Council on the recommendation of Ramoji Rao while CM Jagan Mohan Reddy now has chosen to eliminate the Council for the state’s interest.

The CM is trying to correct the unfortunate decisions made by Chandrababu in his regime by rejecting the Sivaramakrishnan committee’s report on the Capital, Subhash Chandra Bose said. It is unfortunate for TDP for using the Council as a political center. On the other hand, the other minister Mopidevi Venkataramana who is also an MLC, has said that he would respect Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision for the future of the state. We support the motion passed by the Chief Minister to abolish the Legislative Council known as the Elders’ House. The elders have the responsibility to advise on the decisions made by the rulers in this House. In the last four days, Chandrababu has mocked the democracy with his double standards, Mopidevi opined. He said that the members nominated from our party to the Council are recognized in public life while Chandrababu had nominated the looters to the Council, Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana fumed.

Kent re-sign Matt Henry for start of 2020 county season

New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry will return to Kent for the upcoming English summer. The county has signed him for the first seven Championship games for its Division 1 campaign, starting against Lancashire at Old Trafford on April 12.

Henry earlier played for Kent in 2018, when he picked 75 wickets in 11 matches and helped the side earn a promotion from Division 2. He couldn’t be signed in 2019 as he was busy with New Zealand’s World Cup campaign.

During his previous stint with the club, Henry picked figures of 7 for 45 at Durham before his current best first-class figures of 7-42 against Northamptonshire at Canterbury. He was named Kent’s Bowler of the Year at the end of that season.

Kent has already re-signed Fred Klaassen, Grant Stewart, and Alex Blake this month.

Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma paid tribute to NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who departed in a helicopter collision in suburban Los Angeles. The retired LA Lakers star, 41, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others died early on Sunday in the crash on a hillside in Calabasas, northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who is currently with the Indian team on tour of New Zealand, took to Instagram to mourn Kobe Bryant with India captain saying that he was “absolutely devastated” by the news.

Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh, Abhishek Bachchan, Lara Dutta, Arjun Kapoor among others also paid tribute to Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, 41, was traveling with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other passengers and crew when their Sikorsky S-76 helicopter slammed into a rugged hillside in Calabasas, west of Los Angeles. There were no survivors.

Bryant, a five-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medallist, is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players in history, an iconic figure who became one of the faces of his sport during a glittering two-decade career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dozens of firefighters and paramedics battled across steep terrain to reach the flaming wreckage at the crash site but found no survivors, officials said.

Some 200 people also gathered on Sunday at the foot of the hill closest to the crash site, many of them wearing Bryant jerseys.

Others turned out to pay tribute near the Lakers practice facility on the outskirts of Los Angeles.

OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 have started receiving OxygenOS 10.3.1 update based on Android 10. The latest software update brings a list of bug fixes that were introduced through the original Android 10 release for both the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6. Additionally, OnePlus has mentioned that the update includes the December 2019 Android security patch. Khaleel Ahmed, the left-arm pacer, has been ruled out of the remainder of India A’s tour of New Zealand due to a wrist injury. Additionally, the fastest ever roll-out in India ahead during the festive season led to the strong initial shipments.

Price cut on iPhone XR immediately made it the best selling iPhone within Apple portfolio for two successive quarters (Q2 2019, and Q3 2019).

The reason for Apple’s rise lies in a better understanding of a market that requires unique customer strategies and mind games, not seen in other, more evolved smartphone territories.

iPhone XR is being manufactured at Apple supplier Foxconn’s facility in Sriperumbudur, Chennai and iPhone 7₹ 26,329 and iPhone 6s₹ 22,998 being assembled at supplier Wistron’s facility in Bengaluru.

Vivo Passes Samsung to Become Second Largest Smartphone Maker in India in Q4

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo created history by grabbing the second spot in the Indian smartphone market for the first time in the fourth quarter of the calendar year 2019.

Vivo captured 21 percent market share to reach the second spot as Samsung slipped to third place with 19 percent market share. Xiaomi was at No 1 position with 27 percent share in Q4 2019, according to Counterpoint Research. Oppo and Realme were other players in the top-five list, with 12 percent and eight percent market share, respectively.

Vivo grew 76 percent (year-over-year) in the full year 2019 and 134 percent YoY in Q4 2019, driven by good performance of its budget segment series. Over the past four years, Vivo has grown 24 times in the Indian market. Vivo has a presence in over 70,000 retail outlets across the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stepped up the campaign for the upcoming Delhi elections announcing that the BJP if elected to power, would spend Rs.1 lakh crore to improve the national capital’s infrastructure. Though the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government claimed that it was supplying water to all colonies, the quality of water was the worst in the country, the Union Home Minister said.

Shah also claimed that the BJP government had provided ownership rights to 50 lakh residents in unauthorized colonies in Delhi. He slammed the AAP government for its adamant attitude, thereby denying the Central government’s public welfare schemes to the poor in Delhi. The Home Minister said that his mobile phone battery had gone dead as he searched in the national capital for free wi-fi which the Kejriwal government said it had provided in Delhi.

Amit Shah accused AAP and Congress of backing Shaheen Bagh protesters in Delhi demonstrating against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and inciting the Muslim community. The AAP hit back at BJP at the Home Minister with deputy chief minister remarking that he was ready to show the Union Home Minister the wi-fi hotspots in Delhi. He added sarcastically that the Delhi government provided 200 units of free power and Amit Shah could recharge his phone at any charging point. The AAP continued its emphasis on development claiming that it was a contest of local issues over national issues that were not relevant to the ground reality in Delhi.

20 hurt as State Transport bus overturns on Mumbai-Goa Highway

At least 20 passengers of a state transport bus were injured when the vehicle overturned at Mangaon on Mumbai-Goa Highway on Saturday, police said. The accident occurred in the early hours, when the ST bus, carrying 44 passengers, was heading towards Dapoli, an official said. While crossing a bridge near Kamalje village, the driver lost control of the bus, causing the vehicle to hit a barricade and turn turtle, he said. At least 20 passengers were injured in the incident and were given preliminary treatment, he added.
