Google Pixel 4a Renders show Hole-Punch Display, Single Main Camera

0

Google Pixel 4a is expected to launch in 2020, and in the run-up to its launch, the alleged renders of the phone have popped up online. The render leak suggests that the phone will sport a hole-punch display design, taking from the current trend in the industry. At the back, Google seems to have integrated the same square module camera setup as the Google Pixel 4. In the renders, the phone is seen sporting a single image sensor inside the module, but tipster OnLeaks suggests that Google could add more image sensors.

91Mobiles in partnership with OnLeaks has shared the alleged 360 degree renders of the Google Pixel 4a. Multiple renders of an upcoming White color option of the phone have been leaked, but the report says that the phone will launch in Black and Purple finishes as well. There may an additional color option added to the mix. The phone, as mentioned, is seen sporting a hole-punch display with the cut-out positioned in the top left of the screen. There’s a thin outline of bezels on all sides of the display, and the report suggests that the phone could feature a flat 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch display.

The White color back panel has a matte finish, and a square-shaped module to house the camera. There’s a visible camera bump and the renders suggest only a single camera setup, though the tipster suggests more image sensors should be added. The Pixel 4a is seen to feature a rear fingerprint sensor, and the ‘G’ logo is housed at the bottom of the back panel. The orange-colored power button and the volume rocker are situated on the right edge of the screen, and the bottom edge houses the USB Type-C port and the speaker grille. The 3.5mm audio jack is seen on the top edge, and the phone is reported to measure 144.2×69.5×8.2mm in size, and if we include the camera bump, the thickness increases to 9mm. There’s no clarity whether Motion Sense will be integrated on the Pixel 4a series, or not.

Google Pixel 4a series is reported to be launched at Google I/O 2020 this year. Tipped specifications include 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 765 series SoC, and 12.2-megapixel main rear camera. The phone could also come with 5G support.

Wisden announces T20I team of decade, No place for MS Dhoni

0

Wisden has announced the T20I team of the decade and unlike the teams in the other format, this playing XI is far more diverse and finds representation from several other countries. There were 897 T20Is played in the decade, in which there were 249,578 scored and 11,293 wickets taken.

For starters, Aaron Finch, who is Australia’s captain in the limited-overs format, will open the batting and was also named the captain of this particular side. His opening partner will be New Zealand’s Colin Munro, who has been brilliant for Kiwis in this particular role.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has dominated this format, will walk out at number 3 and will be followed by former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson.

The maverick Glenn Maxwell will be the number 5 in this team and will provide a lot of spunk with the ball as well as in the field. England’s wicket-keeper Jos Buttler, who is perhaps the best white ball players to have ever come out of the country, will don the wicket-keeping gloves and will also be the finisher in the side.

Afghanistan legend Mohammad Nabi will follow Buttler and his calm at the crease with both bat and ball will be extremely vital. David Willey will walk in next and is perhaps the most penetrative bowler, especially upfront with the new nut in the powerplay overs.

And then there is the irresistible Rashid Khan, who has been an absolute star in this format and is a hot property all across the globe for being a match-winner with his leggies.

The master Lasith Malinga and his apprentice Jasprit Bumrah will be the two-seamers in the squad and well, this forms a superb team in this format.

Both Bumrah and Malinga have the ability to take wickets with the new ball and then come back at the death to wreak havoc.

Here is the team: Aaron Finch (c), Colin Munro, Virat Kohli, Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell, Jos Buttler (wk), Mohammad Nabi, David Willey, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga

The injury happened on Day 2 of the first Test in Centurion, which left Markram with a fracture on the fourth left finger. The injury will need surgery, removing Markram from play for at least six weeks.

“Aiden sustained a fracture affecting the distal joint of his left ring finger,” Dr Shuaib Manjra, Cricket South Africa Chief Medical Officer, said.

At 2.4 Degrees, Delhi In For Second Coldest December Since 1901

0

Gripped by bone-chilling cold, Delhi this morning recorded a minimum temperature of 2.4 degrees, the lowest for the season so far. The national capital – under a cold spell since December 14 – is expected to witness its second-coldest December since 1901, according to the weather office.

Mercury dipped to its lowest in Delhi with the Safdarjung Observatory – whose figures are taken as the official reading for the city – recording 2.4 degrees Celsius this morning. Among other observatories, the one at Palam recorded 3.1 degrees Celsius, the Lodhi Road observatory recorded 1.7 degrees Celsius, Aya Nagar observatory recorded 1.9 degrees Celsius, news agency PTI reported quoting a senior India Meteorological Department official.

Dense fog reduced visibility in parts of Delhi, disrupting rail, road and air traffic. Four flights have been diverted till now at Delhi airport due to low visibility and 24 trains are running late.

Since December 14, most parts of the city have witnessed a 13-day cold spell. On Friday, the minimum temperature settled at 4.2 degrees, three notches below normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 12.9 degrees.

The cold spell in Delhi this year – likely to ease next week – beats the last such spell in 1997. After 1992, the city has had cold spells only in four years – 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2014, according to news agency PTI.

Till Friday, the city recorded a mean maximum temperature of 19.4 degrees. The mean maximum temperature for December was less than 20 degrees only in 1919, 1929, 1961 and 1997, an IMD official told PTI.

Rain and hailstorm have been predicted for several parts of north India, including Delhi, next week.

AUS Vs NZ: Pat Cummins fifer bundles out NZ for 148

0

Pat Cummins orchestrated New Zealand’s downfall in Melbourne with a five-wicket haul, putting Australia in the driver’s seat, as New Zealand were bowled out for 148. With a lead of 319, Australia didn’t opt to enforce the follow-on, batted instead extending it to 347 at Tea, with the openers adding 28 together.

Cummins returned 5-28 on Saturday (December 28), picking up his fifth five-for in Tests, and first against New Zealand. It started early in the day when the pacers were rewarded for their consistency, pace and some extra bounce in overcast conditions. But after Lunch, proceedings sped up drastically as Cummins ended Tom Latham’s resistance. Latham made the most of his reprieve received earlier in the day from Steve Smith and went on to score a fighting half-century, while wickets fell around him, resisting Australia’s pace onslaught. Cummins’s patience of persisting with the line outside off paid off as Latham fell for the bait, going after one in the same region, but undone by the extra bounce, edging to Tim Paine.

James Pattinson, too, was relentless in troubling the batsmen with that corridor of uncertainty outside off and Mitchell Santner couldn’t help himself. A poke and he was caught by Paine. Cummins ended Tim Southee’s jittery stay for his fifth wicket, but Neil Wagner was in no mood to merely surrender. He smashed a couple over the ropes in an entertaining 18-ball 20, but Mitchell Starc returned to clean up Boult as the visitors folded up. To worsen matters, New Zealand lost a review after challenging a leg-before call against David Warner, but the third umpire suspected bat before pad and didn’t even check ball tracking.

It was a matter of just three overs before Australia were rewarded with Cummins and Pattinson bowling beautifully with pace and bounce in the morning, bowling a tad fuller as opposed to yesterday. Cummins, in particular, bowled nagging lines and relentless lengths and kickstarted the procession with the big wicket of Ross Taylor. The veteran batsman, who had successfully overturned an lbw call late last evening, got a leading edge that went to Marnus Labuschagne at third slip before popping out to be pouched by Joe Burns at first. He made it two in two after trapping Henry Nicholls leg before for a duck. He didn’t get his hat-trick but bowled a brilliant spell of 2 for 9 in five overs.

Smith dropped Tom Latham off Pattinson soon after, but the bowler was awarded with BJ Watling’s wicket, who got an edge off the shoulder of the bat from one that was rising on him to slip. He deserved the wicket after having had bowled in good areas and with a lot of heart in that spell. It was after the first hour, however, when Australia handed the ball to Matthew Wade, who conceded 13 runs with two boundaries, that Australia let New Zealand off the hook a tad bit.

Latham and Colin de Grandhomme added a 39-run stand to keep the hosts at bay. Mitchell Starc bowled with a lot of pace, full and posed a few questions in his extended spell. He ended de Grandhomme’s uncomfortable stay in the middle with a beauty, forcing an edge out that flew to David Warner at gully. He would’ve had another ball later when a snorter rose onto Mitchell Santner. The appeal for a caught-behind was turned down by the on-field umpire, but reviews showed something on snicko and hotspot close to the glove. It could’ve been the wrist band, which is technically, part of the glove, but the third umpire gave the benefit of the doubt to the batsman, to cap off the drama-filled morning session.

Brief scores: Australia 467 & 28/0 lead New Zealand 148 (Tom Latham 50; Pat Cummins 5-28, Mitchell Starc 2-30, James Pattinson 3-34) by 347 runs.

SA Vs ENG: Denly, Root battle hard after Philander sets the tone at Lunch

0

After South Africa folded for 284, the England batsmen were put through a thorough examination as they went to lunch on day two at 60 for 2 in Centurion on Friday (December 27). The visitors lost their openers with just 15 on the board before the Joes – Joe Root and Joe Denly – saw off the session.

South Africa added just seven more to their overnight total before Vernon Philander fell caught behind. The pacer, though, put England through a lot of misery as his first spell ended with 5-5-0-1. He gave South Africa an early opening when he had Rory Burns caught behind.

The length ball kicked off and took the opener by surprise as he gloved it to the ‘keeper. Kagiso Rabada then removed Dominic Sibley with another peach. The right-hander edged one and stood his ground to force South Africa into a review.

Denly was then at the receiving end of the Philander storm but did well to play with soft hands and deny the pacer any more wickets. Denly was, however, dropped by Rassie van der Dussen at first slip in the 11th over off Rabada. Van der Dussen was put off by Quinton de Kock diving in front of him but he dropped a low sitter in the end. Denly was yet to open his account and had already been forced to fend for 25 deliveries by Philander.

Root and Denly stretched their alliance to 45 and eased the nerves in the dressing room.

Brief scores: South Africa 284 (Quinton de Kock 95; Sam Curran 4-58) lead England 60/2 (Vernon Philander 1-0) by 224 runs.

Realme X50 5G to come with Side Fingerprint Scanner,Two Day Battery Life

0

Realme is on a teasing spree, ahead of the launch of the Realme X50 5G phone on January 7. New render of the phone has been released showing off the side-fingerprint sensor, and camera samples have been posted to show off the 64-megapixel quad-camera prowess. New teasers also suggest that the phone will come with a wide-angle camera to pick up more composition in a landscape photo. The company has also teased the arrival of the Realme Buds Air in China, and a screenshot teaser suggests that the Realme X50 5G battery should last for two days.

Realme X50 5G to come with Side Fingerprint Scanner,Two Day Battery Life

Starting with the teasers, the new Realme X50 5G render shared by Realme Product Director, Wang Wei Derek, shows the phone’s right side, and a fingerprint sensor can be spotted there. This means that the Realme X50 5G won’t be sporting an in-display sensor, but will be equipped with a side one instead. All the Realme X series phones have been equipped with in-display fingerprint sensor so far, and this change could be because the company decided to incorporate an LCD panel on the Realme X50 5G to keep the price of the phone down.

Realme shared a camera sample taken from the Realme X50 5G phone on its Weibo account, showing off the phone’s photo-taking skills. A picture of a mountainous region is shared, taken possibly at dawn or dusk, shows the detail and color reproduction. Derek has also shared a screenshot from the Realme X50 5G phone, showing off the battery life after one day of use. The battery life was at 62 percent, and from this, we can speculate that the phone could offer two days of battery life. There’s no word on the battery capacity on the phone as of yet.

As mentioned, the Realme Buds Air was also teased by the company to arrive on January 7. The earbuds were launched in India earlier this month, and now they will be made available in China as well. The Realme X50 5G is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, and support enhanced VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology.

Watch: Steyn’s Revenge After Being Smashed By Jake Weatherald On BBL Debut

0

Dale Steyn made his long-awaited debut in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Friday but didn’t have the best of starts. Dale Steyn was included in the Melbourne Stars team in place of Golden Cap wearer Haris Rauf of Pakistan in the match against Adelaide Strikers at the Carrara Oval in Queensland. However, the veteran South African fast bowler was immediately put under pressure by the impressive Jake Weatherald. Starting his BBL campaign with a dot ball, Steyn was then smashed for back-to-back sixes which was followed by back-to-back fours.

Hit for 20 runs off his first five deliveries in the Big Bash League, Steyn had the last laugh when he dismissed Weatherald on the final ball of the over.

Weatherald tried to play another big shot, but this time didn’t get the desired connection and ended up lobbing a simple catch to Melbourne Stars all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.

https://twitter.com/BBL/status/1210477295103725568?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1210477295103725568&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsports.ndtv.com%2Fcricket%2Fdale-steyns-sweet-revenge-after-being-torn-apart-by-jake-weatherald-on-bbl-debut-watch-2155175

Dale Steyn came into the Big Bash League on the back of some fine performances in the Mzansi Super League. Playing for Cape Town Blitz, the South African finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 15 wickets in eight matches.

Steyn missed Melbourne Stars’ opening two games due to a side strain suffered before arriving in Australia. His inclusion in the team meant that Melbourne Stars had to axe the league’s joint-highest wicket-taker this season.

In his two games, Rauf took seven wickets, including a five-wicket haul against the Hobart Hurricanes, and conceded just 5.87 runs per over.

Meanwhile, the Melbourne Stars also welcomed back Australian star Nathan Coulter-Nile, who had missed the start of the tournament with an ankle injury.

Travis Head ton, Tim Paine’s Half Ton help Australia to take charge

0

Travis Head‘s second Test ton and Tim Paine’s highest Test score as captain put Australia in a position of strength in the Boxing Day Test against New Zealand at the MCG. Having finished with a sizeable score of 467, the hosts picked up early wickets to leave New Zealand in trouble at 44 for 2 at Stumps on Day 2.

Only 27 runs came in the 14 overs bowled in the first hour on Day 2 as Smith and Head went about it in a watchful manner. Barring a couple of threes and the first four which came in the 12th over of the day, it was a patient partnership that kept the New Zealand bowlers at bay. But soon after the drinks break, life was injected into the session when Wagner bowled a well-directed short delivery to Smith, who fended at it awkwardly off the handle to gully where Henry Nicholls held on to a reverse one-handed catch jumping up.

New Zealand, though, had to wait for a long while for their next wicket as Paine and Head got together and put on a 150-run stand, with their partnership lasting until the start of the third session. Soon after arriving at the crease, the wicketkeeper-batsman didn’t shy from playing his shots, while Head too upped his scoring rate. Paine was peppered with short deliveries from Wagner but he handled them effectively while Head, at the other end, was solid with his approach.

Pulls, cuts and drives – there were plenty of those as Paine and Head dealt in regular boundaries to power Australia forward, with the captain bringing up his first fifty-plus score in seven innings. Be it driving through cover, playing the cut and pull shots or sweeping the spinner, Paine oozed confidence. Head focused more on blunting the New Zealand bowlers but he also struck boundaries, with an upper cut off Wagner raising the first-century stand of the innings.

Paine had outscored Head on boundary count before the left-hander caught up with his skipper. Head, though, slowed down after he entered the 90s as he ended the second session two short of the century mark, having faced 35 deliveries to move from 90 to 98. The partnership, however, came to an end at the start of the final session as Paine was trapped in front by Wagner, who came around the wicket – with New Zealand using the review to reverse the onfield decision.

Mitchell Starc fell cheaply but a celebration followed soon after as Head got to his second Test ton and powered Australia past 450 with two successive boundaries off Wagner. Head’s innings, however, came to an end as he sliced a catch to cover to give Wagner his fourth wicket, with Australia’s innings ending shortly after that.

New Zealand’s reply started with Pat Cummins troubling Tom Latham early, right from his first delivery which struck the left-handed opener on his thumb and fell short of the ‘keeper. Tom Blundell, at the other end, started his maiden stint as an opener quite confidently as he square-drove and flicked Starc deliveries which were close to the 150kph mark. However, he fell to a full delivery from Cummins, getting an outside edge after being lured into a drive.

Cummins continued to pose questions to Latham, coming around the wicket and beating the inside edge once and also bowled three maidens to the opener. Williamson, meanwhile, was collecting runs through the third-man region and even ran four after driving a James Pattinson delivery through cover. But New Zealand suffered a big setback as Pattinson got the New Zealand captain with a short delivery, with Paine holding on to the top edge. Ross Taylor, who managed to reverse an on-field leg-before decision awarded in favor of Pattinson, was unbeaten at Stumps along with Latham.

Brief scores: Australia 467 (Travis Head 114, Steve Smith 85, Tim Paine 79; Neil Wagner 4-83, Tim Southee 3-103) lead New Zealand 44/2 (Tom Blundell 15; Pat Cummins 1-8, James Pattinson 1-9) by 423 runs.

Watch: Henry Nicholls Takes One-Handed Catch To Get Rid Of Steve Smith

0

Steve Smith looked primed to score another century, his 27th in Test cricket and his fifth in as many Tests at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but fell 15 runs short all thanks to an absolutely stunning catch from Henry Nicholls on Day 2 of the Australia vs New Zealand 2nd Test. Steve Smith’s knock was not the most fluent one but it was certainly patient, scoring 85 off 242 balls.

New Zealand pacer Neil Wagner had troubled the Australian maestro with some sharp bouncers and finally got the better of him when a short delivery ballooned off Steve Smith’s bat handle and glove with Henry Nicholls taking a brilliant one-handed catch at gully.

Steve Smith’s wicket didn’t dampen Australian spirits as the packed MCG witnessed a fine sixth-wicket partnership between captain Tim Paine and Travis Head. At Tea on Day 2, the duo had put on a 147-run partnership to put the hosts in complete control of the second Test.

Travis Head was batting on 98 while skipper Paine was unbeaten on 77 when the second session of the day ended.

Australia resumed at 257 for four with Smith on 77 and Head not out 25 under clear skies on a hot day.

It was slow going as pace spearheads Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Wagner kept them in check, with Smith adding just eight runs to his overnight score in more than an hour before he was out.

Mitchell Santner, though, was a major disappointment for New Zealand, going wicketless after bowling 19 overs.

The visitors need to win to square the three-match series after crashing in the opening day-night clash in Perth by 296 runs.
