From the last decade or so, most of the Indian films have linked themselves with controversies. And interestingly, few production houses and directors choose subjects that stir controversies after the film’s release. Many films that have been produced on those lines are still ‘yet to be released’. One such film is ‘Kutrapathrikai,’ a Tamil film that attempted to thread the facts around the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. The film directed by R.K. Selvamani in 1991 released in 2007 after the Censor Board stopped its release for over 13 years.

Even the upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Padmavathi’ under the direction of Sanjay Leela Bansali is mired with controversies. It’s really surprising that, Manchu Manoj starrer ‘Okkadu Migiladu,’ has released without any such controversies. The film is based on LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.

Story:

Police officials are seen interrogating a student leader in a jail. The student leader (Manoj) associates him with the problems going in the society. Along with other students, he takes the responsibility of ‘cleansing’ the society on to his shoulders. He raises his voice against the social evils and often gets into trouble. The police try to find out about the whereabouts of the student leader after his relentless struggle against the evil in the society surprise them. The flashback begins with the life of LTTE Prabhakaran (Manoj), his life and how the student leader is related to the LTTE leader.

Analysis:

From the outset, it would be clear that the director Ajay Andrews believes that a ‘film’ can be used as a medium to even inspire the audience. ‘Okkadu Migiladu’ can be considered as an extension to his previous film ‘Ravana Desam’ (2013) which depicted the hostile environment that prevailed in Sri Lanka in 2009. Coming from a family of freedom fighters, Ajay has shown how an individual would behave when his existence is threatened. The director’s mettle is clearly seen with the interval episode. The film’s script rightly blends with the repercussions that arise out of ‘Dominance’. He manages to hold the intensity from the first frame to the end.

The fight sequence between Sri Lankan Army and Manoj is ought to be the highlight of the film. In the second half, the director is successful in presenting the situations prevailing in Sri Lankan during the period in an intense, subtle and emotional manner. The dialogues can be noted for their depth. It would be interesting to see to what extent the common man connects with this film.

Manoj’s transformation from an ‘easy-go’ guy to ‘responsible’ is sure because of this film. As a hero, one can clearly note his uproar in the film. His body language, dialogue delivery and the intensity he shows in his characters is outstanding. Even the director excelled as an actor in his role. The cinematography is nothing short of sheer brilliance.

‘Next Nuvve’ Film Review

‘Next Nuvve’ released amid high expectation. The film marks the entry of V4 banner that was created by Geetha Arts, UV Creation and Studio Green production houses together.

The film introduces small screen actor Prabhakar as director. Aadhi is playing the male lead role while Vaibhavi Shandilya is the heroine. The film also features Brahmaji, Reshmi, Ravibabu and Jayaprakash Reddy in key roles

Kiran (Aadhi) is an aspiring TV serial actor. He gets into a relationship with Vaibhavi Shandilya, and they both fall in love. The typical hardships faced by Kiran restrict them from living their life to the fullest. Meanwhile, Kiran is continuously threatened by Jayaprakash Reddy for failing to repay the loans.

Kiran comes to know that, his father has an ancestral property (an old building). He plans to renovate the old building into a hotel, hoping that he can clear all his debts. He obtains money from Jayaprakash Reddy’s son for the renovation work.

With the hotel being established, Kiran and Vaibhavi hope for a better life. Kiran, Vaibhavi, Sarath (Brahmaji) and Sarath’s sister (Reshmi) enter the hotel. With time, guests staying in the hotel start dying one after another. This leaves Kiran and his friends in shock, and what follows next is the story of the film.

Analysis:

The director clearly lacks grip on the script and the subject. The director tried to instill the fear showing mysterious deaths as the backdrop. If that’s the case, the choice of the director to convey the ‘mysterious deaths’ on a comical note is highly dubious. The routine comedy is another blow to the film. The film reminds the audience that they are watching a ‘horror’ film with added comedy scenes in between. 

The whole story leads to a flashback and a climax. One will be disappointed hoping for a good climax. The flashback and climax scenes clearly fade out because of poor storytelling. Overall the film can be treated as another ‘routine horror comedy’ that lacked the content. Shakeela plays a small and a prominent role in the film.

The only breather is Reshmi, who will raise the heartbeat of the audience in her own way. Brahmaji and Ravibabu are successful in creating an entertaining comedy track. While the heroine does look good, Aadhi has shown considerable improvement in his acting. The high production values in the film clearly illustrate the class of the future films under V4. The Director in his first directorial venture clearly disappointed and needs to do some serious homework for his next film.

The much-awaited long-time film, PSV Garuda Vega is truly rocking the theatres. The action thriller that has high-octane action sequences and adventure elements, could well be the beginning of Rajasekhar’s second innings in Tollywood. Produced on a staggering budget of 25 Crores (considering Rajasekhar’s previous film budgets), Garuda Vega has rich production values complemented with engaging screenplay and direction.

Story:

Rajasekhar plays the role of an honest NIA (National Investigation Agency) agent in the film. His commitment towards his professions badly impacts his marital life with his wife Swathi, played by Pooja Kumar. Swathi is often seen complaining about the lack of quality time the couple has been spending together.

During this time, Sekhar (Rajasekhar) is handed over a critical case. Initially, the case is said to be related to a bomb explosion when it reaches Sekhar. But with the ongoing investigation, Sekhar comes across the various chain of events that completely shadow of what was reported to him. He finds that there is a whole chain of mafic and terrorist networks linked to that ‘simple’ bomb explosion. From there, the story is all about how Sekhar was able to resolve such a complicated case, and how was he able to cope up with his marital life parallelly.

Analysis:

Though the storyline appears to be wafer thin, the way it was narrated speaks volumes about the director. The screenplay and cinematography were handled, surely leaves the audience awestruck. Right from the first action episode in Darjeeling and until the last action picturized around Charminar before the interval, Telugu audience will be spellbound, witnessing actions sequences never heard and seen in Telugu Film Industry. By the time the second half picks up its pace, the central plot of Garuda Vega is revealed, and the audience experiences a ‘random story’ for the most part. But the director, Praveen Sattaru manages to clinch the audience heartbeat with the last 20 minutes of the film. The pre-climax and climax sequences are going to be testimonials of the hard work the director and the hero have put in.

Director’snarration and screenplay complimentRajasekhar’s ‘Angry Youngman’ image on the screen. Garuda Vega surely marks the grand entry of Rajasekhar into Telugu Film Industry. Rajasekhar with his action sequences takes us back 25 years into history.He has done what all he could possibly do. Pooja Kumar, Shraddha Das, Ali, Posani Krishna Murali and others have played their roles pretty. Srinivas Raju’s decision to produce the film with Rajasekhar as hero and Praveen Sattaru as a director is clearly a gutsy move.

‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ Movie Review and Rating

Ram did steal the show with his latest film ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’. The film has opened to a positive response from the audience. Going by the latest trends, not only the film is all set to be a ‘blockbuster’ in Ram’s career, but a wakeup call for the youth!

The film ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ is directed by Kishore Tirumala who is well known for the class touch that he brings to his films. Even his previous film ‘Nenu Shailaja’ with Ram was a hit. In this ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ film, the director illustrates the life of the hero through three important phases of his life: Childhood, College, and Post-Education. The lively screenplay and apt writing from the director did elevate the film. Heroines Anupama Parameshwaran and Lavanya Tripathi had enough screen presence to show their acting skills. While songs from DSP were decent, the BGM was simply exceptional.

The ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ film actually converses with the audience who is watching it. It clearly showcases the hardships, emotions, highs, and lows in life. The director made a brave attempt to tell the story of a young lad who is seen with a sturdy mind. Kishore Tirumala did add his touch of brilliance with writing the screenplay and script for the film. ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ film revolves around Love, Emotions, and Friendship in an individual’s life. The film highlights a ‘unique’ aspect in friendship, and Sri Vishnu’s acting as Ram’s close friend is outstanding. The audience felt Anupama delivered her best performance so far while complementing Lavanya Tripathi for her good acting.

The ‘Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi’ film’s plot throws light on ‘how simple a life is, yet how we complicate it with our untimely actions’. The film also talks about how to withhold emotions and feelings, acting timely and responsibly during our youth and knowing the true essence of love and friendship in our life.

The scenes involving Sri Vishnu and Ram are surely going to touch the audience. The film is adequately filled with emotional content with twists before the interval and climax. One can expect a little drag in the second half. But the film still manages to hold the intensity until the ending. The background score by Devi Sri Prasad elevates the emotional scenes quite beautifully.

But there are no new trends in story and storytelling. Chiranjeevi’s movie Tagore is sure to remember when we watch Adhirindi. Including the flashback of the film is also repeated. Samantha’s interview scene with hero Vijay is awesome. The story revolves around the interview scene as a routine revenge story. Only Vijay fans will enjoy the movie.

It’s been two years seeing mass Maharaja Ravi Teja on screen. On the other hand, the combination of Ravi Teja and producer Dil Raju is back after 12years. Now Anil Ravipudi who has continuous hits added on to the combination. Hence this movie Raja the Great is increasing the excitement of the people. Though the title seems to be mass the content of the story is shocking everyone. Furthermore, A star hero choosing the role of being blind throughout the story is shocking. Rather Ravi Teja is back with a different story.

Story:

The story of the movie is a simple story. A man who is in police department try saving the heroine from the villain on his promise given to his mother. In this process, heroin fell in love with the hero, and finally, the hero wins over the villain. also, the hero being blind adds a new point to the story.

We often see the people with some defects are the ones who have additional powers. Most probably Like the people who are blind can sense the currency. They know what all are there in their place. They can say how many steps to take to reach what they want to. In the same way, the movie Raja the Great is about the blind hero who is very intelligent. How this wise man deals with the circumstances around him is the story. Though the movie seems like Mohan Lal’s yodha, Siddharth Anaganaga o dheerudu. This movie has it’s own points to add effects to the film. Due to The situations of hero dealing with his intelligence and the other scope like comedy and fight add it’s flavor to the movie.

Analysis

It is not an easy task to play the role of the blind. Hence Ravi Teja gave his best without showing any negativeness to his role. He gave his best for the movie. Even director Anil Ravipudi has chosen the right person for the movie. Furthermore, because of Ravi Teja ease in his body language has been the plus point for the film. On the other hand, due to the other characters Radhika, Prakashraj, Srinivas Reddy and Ali are also the plus points for the movie.

Ram Lakshman fights and Sai Karthik music is notables of the film. Hence, This movie serves as another step for Anil Ravipudi and Ravi Teja’s career.

The director Omkar made a horror comedy film ‘Raju Gari Gadhi’ two years back. But without any expectations, the movie had grossed blockbuster collections with super hit talk. This movie had brought the good fame to Omkar but ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ is completely opposite to the first part. Since Nagarjuna and Samantha had done the movie and the PVP banner are the producer to the film, the expectations are really high on ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ movie. Though it is a sequel to ‘Raju Gari Gadhi’ movie, only the comedy and horror genre is the common point. There is no link for the sequel of ‘Raju Gari Gadhi’ not even the story. Let’s see how ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ entertains the audience.

Story:

Ashwin, Vennela Kishore, and Shakalaka Shankar are running a resort. But they facing unexpected problems on that resort. So they suspect that there is a spirit in the resort and will get panic. They will approach a church father to ask help for getting out of this problem. But the church father says that meet a mentalist (Nagarjuna) to find the spirit. So this mentalist who can find the inner feelings of a person by seeing the face will confirm that there is a spirit ( Samantha) who is waiting to take revenge. Why the spirit has revenge…? Who has done injustice to her…? Will that spirit take revenge…? What will happened at the end of the movie…? To know all these answers you should watch ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ movie…

Analysis:

It’s very difficult to do horror comedy movie. If the flavor correctly added then the movie is super hit or else flop. That’s why director Omkar took this screenplay as a challenge and made the script. The first half will be full of fun and with horror screens make the audience entertained. And in the second half, the main lead of the movie Nagarjuna and Samantha are perfectly molded into the characters. Samantha very well told about a girl who faced problem in the society because of people’s wickedness. Samantha perfectly connected to the character because of the concept that’s why she didn’t use the glycerin and got the tears. And Nag did a good performance as a mentalist who read people’s mind.

But the director Omkar couldn’t able to concentrate on the mistakes of the original version of this movie in Malayalam ‘Pretam’ movie. As it seems like he fully followed the original subject. ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ movie would have been more nice if they concentrated on the screenplay more. The camera work is good and the Cinematographer Divakaran work is amazing. Thaman background music worked very well for ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ movie.

‘Mahanubhavudu’ title name if once fixed to a comedy film is something special. Director Maruthi has a track record in directing comedy videos. Moreover, UV creations had a good name by making content movies and Sharvanand selects the movie if he likes the story. The expectations were high with the declaration of the movie is the three of their combination. Even though the movie release for Dussehra in competition with the two big star movies Jai Lava Kusa and Spyder. Earlier, at Sankranthi time also Sharvanand ‘Sathamanam Bhavathi’ also released in competition with Balakrishna Gauthami Putra Sathakarni and Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi Number 150’. The audience had huge expectations on the movie Mahanubhavudu, let’s see the movie is up to the expectations or not.

Story:

Anand (Sharwanand) is a software engineer affected by a psychological problem called obsessive-compulsive disorder. That is not a serious illness but being over cleaned or checking the work many times. This can be described as over neatness. Anand falls in love with a girl (Mehreen) who gives preference to neatness. She likes him too but like every movie heroine father does not like the hero. Not hero he does not like heroes over neatness. Therefore Anand has to visit a village for his loved ones. What are the difficulties that he will suffer there? Will Anand wins in his love? What is the problem that Anand faces with he over neatness is all about the movie Mahanubhavudu?

Analysis:

The hero who is facing OCD problem in that the situations and circumstances became the crucial point to this movie ‘Mahanubhavudu’. The director Maruthi who gave the good film like ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ as the hero has forgotten the problem. Now Maruthi touched the OCD problem in ‘Mahanubhavudu’ movie. The characterization is good in ‘Babu Bangaram’ with Venkatesh but the scenes did not give that much fun. So this Maruthi careful planned the scenes which revolve through the center point. As he showed the routine love story in a special way. The hero problem made the movie to see in a unique way even though the story is old. Mainly the audience can’t stand in their own seats with the comedy of the interval scene, second half.

The three people for this movie made the audience confidence success with their and even increased the confidence. In ‘Mahanubhavudu’ movie, the audience will see Sharwanand in only 2, 3 screens but the whole is filled Anand who has OCD problem. Even after the movie, the audience will laugh out loud by remembering his acting. Even the director Maruthi did a good work. The made the success with an old story but a new point revolve around with comedy by making the audience laugh their heart out. And finally, the UV Creations productions values are clearly shown in the movie.

Murugadoss is one of the director’s whose trying to take the Telugu film industry to next level. Murugadoss films contain a good message to society.he followed the same formula for the film spyder. His storyline contains social issues and a solution for that issues in the society. Mahesh is lucky to act with the director. However, Superstar fans have huge expectations for the film spyder.

Mahesh plays a role of ib officer who controls criminal operations in the city. With this storyline, one can understand how technology plays an important role in everybody life. However, the fight scenes, a conversation between the hero and villain, Lanco hills scenes all these are highlights for the film. Murugadoss is worth appreciation for this kind of storyline. The pre-climax and climax will be the highlights.

Mahesh is the key point in this movie. Mahesh seems very different in this movie, IB officer Shiva appears in the movie but not Mahesh Babu. Star heroes accepting this type of movies is rare but Mahesh has been working to break the trend for the first time. Spyder can be considered as the best effort by Mahesh for a new trend.

Surya, who played the villain role in the movie stood first in the competition that competes Mahesh’s performance. He just left a chance to direct a movie to Power star Pawan Kalyan and played the Bhairavudu character portray his interest towards the role. Even after the movie release also Suryas character and his action follow us. Bharath, Rakul, and Priyadarshi also performed their best to their characters.

The film is technically good that significates the four pillars to the movie. Santosh Shivan with his photography in SPYder movie, the audience was thrilled with the effects. Harris Jayaraj’s music, especially the background work, has raised the film level. Last but not the least Srikar Prasad edited and Peter Haynes fights the other two pillars for the movie SPYder.

Sr NTR is a God to the Telugu people. No one has dare to make a banner on his name as not to spoil his image. But his grandson Kalyan Ram made the NTR Art banner and did a movie ‘Athanokkade’ as it didn’t get any expectations. But the expectations increased after that movie. Kalyan Ram as a producer trying his level best to make the NTR Art banners to peaks.

So, Jr NTR grabs the attraction of NTR Art banner by doing the movie in that banner. Everyone disappointed that the director of this movie is Bobby who had a flop. But with the Jai teaser grabs the attraction and made everyone curious that how NTR will be in these 3 different characters. Actually seeing Jr NTR on the screen is a buffet and that too in 3 different characters is a big feast. So with ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie that feast came in front of the audience. Let’s see how this huge expectable ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ is…?

Story:

The story is about the 3 brothers where they all look-a-like, each one with the different heart. But due to some situations, all the 3 brothers will separate. The eldest brother Jai will become cruel due to his childhood situations. The 2nd brother Lava Kumar will become a bank manager with good values embedded in him. The last brother Kusa is the modern Lord Krishna who is a small thief. In an unpredictable situation, Lava and Kusa will meet. Kusa will replace Lava due to the problem arise because of Lava’s goodness.

Jai rowdyism will become the hurdle to his political growth. So to overcome this situation Jai will kidnap Lava, Kusa and use them to grow his power. Jai will make both Lava and Kusa as his puppets to be like him in the society. One should grow his political power and another one should make his girl fall for him. Jai though to kill them both after his works complete with them. But Lava, Kusa are waiting for Jai to change into good one. The story ends with the 3 brothers unpredictable climax.

Analysis:

The director Bobby did the ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie with a passion who had a flop previously. And even NTR gave chance to Bobby beyond the success and failure. It’s a very rare thing that a movie is full of entertainment with the amazing twists and turns and surprises with the sentiment touch and an unexpected climax. All these aspects in a commercial story is very difficult. And showing an amazing actor’s splendid performance of all the shades in one movie is not a simple task. The director Bobby did the appreciatable performance in making ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie into the silver screen.

‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie has huge expectations as for the first time NTR did 3 different characters in a movie. ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie full filled all the expectations beyond limits. With the Jai teaser, NTR grabs the attraction towards that character and showed all his amazing performance in Jai character. Lava, Kusa characters are the bonus to the Jai character. NTR performed all the 3 characters uniquely with different shades of roles by showing his splendid skills in acting. Finally, the audience got full filled by this movie, as the trust NTR kept on ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie.

Even all the characters did the good performance. Sai Kumar and especially, Nivetha Thomas played the perfect screen presence to match NTR level of performance. The music director Devi Sri Prasad gave an amazing background score. Especially, Ravana background score was awesome. The cameraman Chota K. Naidu, as usual, did the perfect job. And the production of NTR Art banner values increased the ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ movie range to heights.
