Thanks to few YouTube channels, and TRP-based Telugu Media, actress Sri Reddy shot to fame. From the past few days, the actress took to social and electronic media to express the kind of sexual harassment and casting couch she has faced in the Tollywood film industry.

There is a new entrant in the league of ‘whistleblowers’ talking about the casting couch practice in Tollywood. She is none other than Madhavi Latha, Nachavule movie fame. Though the actress impressed everyone with her looks, acting and glamour, she hardly established herself as a leading heroine.

Talking to a leading YouTube channel, Madhavi Latha said, ‘newbies entering the film industry are subjected to mental and physical torture. Many directors and producers openly asked me to sleep with them.

I can reveal their names. But it would hamper at both personal and professional levels. It will as well create disturbances in their personal lives. We cannot move with other craftsmen like before’.She further went on to add, ‘Telugu directors and producers prefer Mumbai heroines over Telugu heroines for reasons only known to them’.

After a long gap, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is getting ready to entertain the Telugu audience. His upcoming movie ‘MLA – Manchi Lakshnaalunna Abbayi’ is all set to hit the theatres on 23rd March. The movie’s album, teaser and trailer have raised the expectations on the film.

Unlike his previous films, Kalyan Ram is coming out with a unique look and mannerism. Debutant Upendra Madhav is directing the film. After witnessing huge success with ‘Jai Lava Kusa’, starring Jr NTR (his brother), Kalyan Ram is quite excited to repeat the success with his film too.

According to close sources, the film’s pre-release business stands at Rs 22 crores. In Nizam area itself, MLA’s theatrical rights were sold for Rs 4.2 crores. And overseas rights fetched Rs 5 crores to the producers. Both these number are quite shocking, especially for someone like Kalyan Ram who hasn’t delivered a hit in recent time.

Looking at the scale of promotions, and hype over the film, trade analysts expect that, MLA is bound to have excellent openings. Kajal Agarwal, who is playing the female lead, is an added advantage. If the film manages to deliver decent content, no one can stop it from becoming a hit at the box office.

Tamil Hero Vijay In Trouble!

No Shootings In Tamil Nadu Vijay In Trouble

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) called for a strike on shootings, post-production works, and release of cinemas in theatres from March 16th. The move came after the TFPC and Digital Service Providers negotiations over the ‘digital service charge’ failed. In this context, the entire Kollywood has become stand still.

Amidst such intense movement, hero Vijay and director Murugadoss continued to shoot at Victoria Hall, located close to Chennai Central. The upcoming film is titled as ‘Vijay 62’. Meanwhile, as soon as the news about the ongoing-shooting spread, along with JSK Satish, many small-time producers vented out their anger.

They said, ‘there is unity among the members of the TFPC. They are giving permissions to shoot for big budget movies, while not allowing upcoming producers. How fair is it to have prejudice even in implementing the strike? Justice should be along the same lines for star heroes and small-time producers.

Reacting to the criticism from other producers, TFPC Secretary SS Durairaj said, ‘from March 16th onwards we have stalled all the shootings. No one is participating in shooting by going against the strike. We only allow 4 film shootings, that too with some clauses, as these films would be completed with 1-2 days of shoot’.

The Hindi-dubbed versions of Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2 together, failed to cross the 150,000 likes, leave alone reaching the 500,000 likes mark. This clearly shows what image Allu Arjun is enjoying among Hindi audience.

If the same continues, it wouldn’t be long before Allu Arjun emerges as a pan India star. Few insider sources stated that a couple of Bollywood production houses are already in talks with Allu Arjun in the lead role. What’s more shocking is that Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagannadham also had over 100 million views.

Comedian Demands Rs 1 Crore!

Is Saptagiri Demands Rs 1 Crore

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Comedian Saptagiri rose among the ‘comedian list’ pretty quickly. With his typical accent and excellent acting skills, he became one of the leading comedians in Tollywood. There was a time when Saptagiri even overtook senior star comedian Brahmanandam.

The actor plays the lead role in two films so far; Saptagiri Express and Saptagiri LLB. Though ‘Sapthagiri Express’ received positive reviews upon its release, Saptagiri LLB bombed at the box office. Surprisingly, a producer approached the star comedian, asking him to don the lead role, under Eshwar Reddy’s (fame of Siddhu from Srikakulam) direction.

Reportedly, Saptagiri demanded Rs 1 crores as remuneration. Shocked at the demand, the producer was nowhere to be seen. After a couple of weeks, Saptagiri once again came forth with a proposal, stating that he would instead share profits from the film.

Feeling it would be a good deal, the producer signed him on the film. The producer believes that he need not worry about the hero’s remuneration, which usually makes the bulk of the budget. From Saptagiri point of view, he believes that he can take home more than 1 crore, given the profit-sharing deal with the producer.
