Twitter for Android Update Crashing App: Here’s How to Fix It

0

If you’re using Twitter’s mobile app on Android, you should refrain from updating to the latest version. It seems that the Twitter for Android app is crashing for most users after the recent update, an issue the company has acknowledged. The app is crashing immediately on launching after the update is installed. It’s surprising to see such an issue slipping through the kind of rigorous testing one would expect from a company like Twitter. Twitter for Android version 8.28 is affected by the issue and the company claims it is currently investigating the crash loop bug.

Twitter’s support team tweeted to acknowledge and apologize for the issue. The company suggests that users should not update their Twitter for Android app and wait until the company confirms a fix. In its tweet, Twitter’s support team confirmed that the issue exists on the latest version of Twitter for Android, causing the app to crash immediately on launch.

In case you’ve already updated the Twitter app on your Android smartphone to the latest version, here’s how you can still use it. Simply go to Settings > Apps > Twitter > Storage and cache > Clear Storage > Clear Cache. This will reset all the data on the Twitter app and you’ll have to sign in all over again. This action will also reset dark theme settings.

But if you haven’t installed the latest Twitter for Android update, you can disable the app from automatically updating on the Play Store. Open the Play Store app on your Android smartphone, and go to Settings > Auto-Update Apps > Don’t Auto-Update Apps. Remember, this will prevent all other apps from automatically updating.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who was initially named in the T20 International (T20I) squad, has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. In the bowling department, India have retained the same attack. They have gone with the four fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, and Shardul Thakur. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the two wrist-spinners in the side, while Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube are the two all-rounders.

In Dhawan’s absence, KL Rahul is expected to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma in both T20Is as well as ODIs.

India’s tour of New Zealand, which lasts over a month-long, kick-starts with five T20Is — the first of which will be played at Eden Park, Auckland on January 24.

The first two T20Is against New Zealand will be played in Auckland, while the next two matches will be played in Hamilton and Wellington respectively.

The series will come to an end with Mount Maunganui’s picturesque Bay Oval stadium playing host to the 5th T20I on February 2.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Said to Offer 65W Fast Charging Support

0

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are tipped to make their debut on February 11, and have appeared in multiple leaks so far. Now, fresh crumbs of Mi 10 series leaks have surfaced online. The standard Mi 10 is said to miss out on support for 65W fast charging, which might come as a disappointment for many fans. But on the bright side, the Mi 10 will reportedly come equipped with a 108-megapixel main shooter. As for its more powerful sibling – the Mi 10 Pro – it is claimed to be compatible with 65W fast charging capability. However, support for wireless charging capacity and its wattage remain under the covers.

Starting with the Mi 10, a tipster on Weibo mentioned that the Mi 10 will pack the Snapdragon 865 SoC, something which has been confirmed by Xiaomi as well. Moreover, the phone is said to pack a 108-megapixel main camera, following in the footsteps of the Mi Note 10. Talking about the camera itself, it will most likely be Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX 108-megapixel sensor, which is also tipped to make its way to the Galaxy S20 Ultra. As per alleged hands-on images, Xiaomi’s Mi 10 flagship will pack four rear cameras, however, the megapixel count of the other three sensors remains unknown.

Coming to the Mi 10 Pro, another Weibo post claims that the Mi 10 Pro is the one that will offer support for 65W charging. The accompanying image also shows the alleged 65W Xiaomi charger for the Mi 10 Pro. On the other hand, the Mi 10 will have to make do with a peak charging output of 48W that is still quite impressive compared to the existing standards. Interestingly, two Xiaomi phones with support for 66W fast charging were spotted on 3C database, but it is unclear if the phones spotted on the Chinese certification authority’s database were the Mi 10 Pro or its 5G iteration, said to debut under the Mi 10 Pro 5G name.

KTM 390 Adventure Launched In India; Priced At ₹ 2.99 Lakh

0

Any new KTM launch in India is highly anticipated. And this one is perhaps the most anticipated motorcycle launch in India in the recent years. The KTM 390 Adventure finally goes on sale in India at a price of ₹ 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it about ₹ 50,000 cheaper than its nearest rival, the BMW G 310 GS and is about ₹ 30,000 more expensive than the KTM 390 Duke. It has been incoming for the longest time and it made its India debut at the 2019 India Bike Week in Goa just about a month ago.

The KTM 390 Adventure uses the same engine as the KTM 390 Duke, which is a 373 cc single-cylinder unit that is liquid-cooled and pumps out 43 bhp at 9,000 rpm and has a peak torque rating of 37 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is BS6 compliant and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and KTM offers a bi-directional quick-shifter as a standard fitment, which is a pleasant surprise. Built around a lightweight trellis frame, the 390 Adventure motorcycle is a purpose-built off-road machine which promises to offer the same manic performance that the KTM 390 Duke is famous for and have the teeth to tackle off-road terrain as well. It gets long-travel WP suspension with a travel of 170 mm upfront and 177 mm travel at the rear. The ground clearance is about 200 mm and the motorcycle gets knobby Metzeler tyres along with a standard metal bash plate. Braking duties are handled by ByBre calipers gripping a 320 mm rotor on the front wheel and a 230 mm rear disc.

KTM has done well to load the 390 Adventure with a long list of rider aids which include lean sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, off-road ABS, KTM MyRide smartphone connectivity, optional turn-by-turn navigation and the bi-directional quick-shifter, which we mentioned above. The motorcycle continues to get the same full-color TFT display screen as the 390 Duke. In India, it will go up against the BMW G 310 GS and the Kawasaki Versys X-300.

0

Ishant Sharma limped off the ground during a Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Monday, adding to the injury woes of the Indian cricket team. India’s most experienced pacer twisted his ankle while appealing for an LBW decision against visiting captain Faiz Fazal. Delhi was under pressure having conceded a 16-run lead while chasing Vidarbha’s first innings total of 179, with medium-pacer Akshay Thakare taking 7/55.

While the Delhi camp wore a dejected look as Ishant took support of the support staff to leave the field, the concern on national selector Devang Gandhi’s face was for all to see. The selectors are due to pick the squad for the two-Test series in New Zealand in a few days. Ishant was scheduled to leave for New Zealand by February 6.

“The injury looks bad. His ankle is swollen. Hope it’s not a fracture. He has been taken for an MRI. Most probably, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will take over his recovery and rehab from here,” a source in the Delhi camp said after the day’s play, hinting that Ishant is unlikely to bowl in the ongoing match. The Indian team management, meanwhile, will have its fingers crossed.

Amazon India Rolling Out Electric Delivery Rickshaws

0

Amazon India on Monday announced that it has started rolling out its electric vehicle delivery fleet in the country, intending to have 10,000 such vehicles on the roads by 2025. The move comes as part of the company’s global Climate Pledge, as announced in September last year. The overall pledge seeks to have 100,000 electric delivery vehicles in operation by 2030, and thus the move in India is one of the first steps towards achieving that goal. Amazon, however, says the Indian vehicles are in addition to those announced for its global pledge.

Getting back to the India initiative, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos early Monday morning announced via a tweet that the company has started to roll out its fleet of electric delivery rickshaws.

In a press statement, the company also revealed that the 10,000 electric vehicles it will have on the road by 2025 will include both three-wheelers and four-wheelers. This year itself, Amazon India will operate its electric vehicle delivery fleet in over 20 cities in the country, including major cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Pune, the company said in a press statement. The 10,000 vehicles have been designed and manufactured by OEMs in India, the company added.

The India rollout of electric delivery vehicles comes after successful pilots in different cities in 2019, the company revealed. “Amazon India has been working with several Indian OEMs to build a fleet of vehicles that ensure sustainable and safe deliveries of customer orders. Significant progress in the Indian e-mobility industry in the last few years has led to advanced technology, and superior motor and battery components. Also, the government’s focus to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, and steps towards setting up of charging infrastructure with the FAME 2 policy has helped the company accelerate and chart its vision for EVs in India,” the company said in its press statement.

Commenting on the rollout, Akhil Saxena, Vice President, Customer Fulfillment – APAC & Emerging Markets, Amazon, was quoted to say, “At Amazon India, we are committed to building a supply chain that will minimize the environmental impact of our operations. The expansion of our Electric Vehicle fleet to 10,000 vehicles by 2025 is an integral milestone in our journey to become an energy-efficient leader in the industry. We will continue to invest in the electrification of our delivery fleet, thereby reducing our dependence on non-renewable resources.”
