Virat Kohli to tour West Indies for all three formats as India’s next assignment kicks off on August 3

Virat Kohli will be a part of India’s upcoming tour of West Indies scheduled to start from August 3 onwards. India will play three T20Is, as many ODIs and two Tests following their heartbreaking exit from the ICC World Cup 2019 as the Men in Blue move forward and look to prepare for the World T20 scheduled for next year in Australia. There were speculations that Kohli will be rested for the tour of the Caribbean nation but now it is highly expected that the Indian skipper will travel to the West Indies for the full-fledged tour.

Kohli was central to criticism after India’s heartbreaking exit from the ICC World Cup 2019. Many cricket experts and pundits blamed the Indian skipper for sending MS Dhoni at number seven while pushing the likes of Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya up in the batting order despite India struggling at 5-3 and later 24-4.

Virat Kohli to tour West Indies for all three formats as India's next assignment kicks off on August 3

Now, as India look forward to moving on and shift their focus on the World T20, Virat Kohli has informed the selectors that he wants to be a part of the squad for the tour of the West Indies and start the process of turning things around following a disappointing ending to the 2019 World Cup, according to a report.

No rest for Kohli despite continuous cricket?

Kohli has been on the road since India’s tour of Australia. The Indian skipper was rested for the final two ODIs and the T20I series against New Zealand but the 30-year-old was back leading the side against Australia. Following the home series against Australia, Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) but his side ended at the bottom of the points table after acquiring just 11 points in 14 games with five wins and eight defeats under their belt.
Now, with Kohli deciding to play in India’s tour of the West Indies, it will be interesting to see his approach following India’s exit from the ICC World Cup 2019. Will Kohli leads from the front with his natural aggressive approach or will he take a back seat and take a more conservative approach towards the game? The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Mumbai today to pick the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming tour against West Indies. India is set to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests from 3rd August – 3rd September 2019.

India’s squad for 3 T20Is: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (Wicket-keeper), Krunal Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini

India’s squad for 3 ODIs: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (Wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini

ICC responds to overthrow controversy in the final

Ever since England won their first World Cup on Sunday, many people have asked the rules set by International Cricket Council (ICC) and its explanation by the on-field umpires. A major argument occurred due to the perceived misinterpretation of rules by the on-field umpires, which resulted in them granting England one extra run. ICC for the first time has responded to the overthrow controversy. Responding to the topic, an ICC spokesperson said it was against the rule to “comment on any conclusions (made by the umpires)”.

The spokesperson also added that on-field umpires take conclusions based on their clarification of the instructions placed in the ICC rule book.

“The umpires take conclusions on the field with their version of the rules and we don’t comment on any decisions as a matter of policy,” an ICC spokesperson was mentioned as a proverb by forxsports.com.au.

The biggest argument surrounding England’s achievement came to everyone’s notice when the previous umpire Simon Taufel claimed that England was presented one-run extra after the ball had bounced off diving Ben Stokes’ bat.

ICC respnds to overthrow controversy in the final

Taufel, a five-time champion of ICC’s Umpire of the Year Award, had said that on-field umpires had made a “clear mistake” when they awarded England six runs instead of five.

Taufel was referring to ICC’s Law 19.8 which clearly states that batsmen are presented one-run extra only if the batsmen have crossed when the fielder releases the ball.

England batsmen Ben and Adil had not overlapped when Martin Guptill threw the ball and therefore should have only been given five runs, comprising four overthrows.

But on-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus has given England six runs on the third-last delivery and also brought Ben Stokes on the strike which assisted them to tie the match in the regulation 50 overs.

England was confirmed the winners on the basis of their superior boundary count after 102 overs of play couldn’t disperse the two teams.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e as an Android tablet but not a laptop

Samsung has much to offer by bringing forth its Galaxy Tab S5e which happens to be a unique mid-range Android and not a laptop replacement. The features are unique.
The Galaxy Tab S5e happens to be a better Android tablet in the market right now. With a starting price of Rs 35,999, the Tab S5e does offer a great OLED display for media consumption and lightweight design. Let it not replace one’s laptop. This is what the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e review is all about.

The Tab S5e does offer a stunning OLED display and attractive quad speakers.
Snapdragon 670 will not be able to handle intensive workloads and RAM is limited to 4GB.
Samsung has been one of the very few players that have been trying to keep the Android tablet market alive. The company has indeed been steadily launching new tablets in India over a while. Last year, the company brought its flagship Galaxy Tab S4, which does offer slim bezels around a gorgeous AMOLED display, a powerful Snapdragon 835 chipset and DeX support. This year, the company did launch two more tablets, the Tab A 10.5 and Tab S5e. This can be observed in Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e review.

As of now, the focus is on reviewing the Galaxy Tab S5e which is rather available in India at a starting price of Rs 35,999 (Wi-Fi only). This is a premium mid-range tablet that is suggestively a light version of an unannounced Tab S5. Yet, it would be better to see the Tab S5e as a toned down Tab S4 as it does also offer similar features such as an AMOLED display with trimmed down bezels, quad speakers as well as DeX support. One can get familiarized by these aspects via Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e review.

Galaxy Tab S5e Design: Sleek and convenient

Tablets are indeed meant to be sleek and light enough to make it convenient to carry around instead of lugging a laptop. Fortunately, the Tab S5e sticks to that brief. Samsung’s latest tablet is accepted as being slim at 5.5mm and weighs at just about 400 grams, which makes it perfect to carry around for meetings or if in case one needs to work on the go.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e as an Android tablet but not a laptop

The Galaxy Tab S5e does offer a compact form factor while still manages to offer a large 10.5-inch display. This is so as the bezels around the display are rather narrow. It does allow Samsung to offer more screen real estate while making it a handy device to hold. It is not quite bezel-less, but one does manage to get a screen ratio of over 80 percent, which is quite impressive.

Samsung has tried to offer a clean as well as immersive display

by trying to remove any form of distraction around the screen such as a physical home button or the Samsung branding. The back of the Tab S5e is indeed a smooth metal unibody that does cover those curves around the sides to meet the glass on the front. Both the Wi-Fi and LTE variants do come with an antenna strip on the given top. There is also a single rear camera on the top left corner.

The right side of the frame consists of a power button that does double up as a fingerprint sensor. The button is part of the frame. Once a person gets used to it, the sensor does work efficiently and is faster at unlocking the device. The right side of the frame does include the volume buttons and a microSD card tray.

POGO keyboard: Functional yet flawed

The Galaxy Tab S5e can indeed offer a PC-like experience if one attaches a POGO keyboard to it. The keyboard is a separate accessory that costs Rs 7,999. The keyboard magnetically gets attached to the back of the tablet. The keys on the keyboard are rounded, spaced out and offer good travel so it does offer a more keyboard-like feel compared to Apple’s own Smart Keyboard Folio.

Galaxy Tab S5e Display and Speakers: Samsung has the best OLED panels. This is amplified on the Tab S5e as it gets a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution. Like the Galaxy Tab S4, the Tab S5e also does offer a bright, vivid display with great color reproduction and excellent viewing angles. It is the biggest reason to go for the Tab S5e rather than an iPad.

Galaxy Tab S5e Performance, DeX mode, and Software: The Galaxy Tab S5e is no doubt powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 670 chipset, which happens to be the same processor that does power phones such as the Google Pixel 3a and Oppo R17 Pro. This is an octa-core processor with a peak speed of 2Ghz. The Tab S5e does come in a single 4GB + 64GB storage option in India.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is not just an entertainment device but also a productivity tablet similar to the Tab S4.
