No more 5-Day Test Cricket

The upcoming first test between South Africa and Zimbabwe will be a special one, given its special rules and regulations. A test match is scheduled for a 5-day cricket with 90 overs each day. The ICC has taken the decision to increase the number of over that needs to be bowled in 98 overs. The 5-day match will be now reduced to 4-day match.

Previously, excluding the lunch break and tea break between sessions, there used to be a 6-hour play on the field. To accommodate the extra 8 overs, 30 minutes are added to the day’s play. This takes the total play time to 6 hours 30 minutes

Another rule change was the minimum runs required to enforce a follow-on. In the past, a team needed to have a minimum of 200 runs to enforce the follow-on. With the change in the rule, 150-run lead is sufficient to enforce the follow-on.The test match is scheduled to be played form 26th December – 29th December. Being a day-night test, pink ball will be used to play.

ICC has given the option to conduct 4-day test matches until 2019 during a bilateral test series. It is heard that the BCCI [Board of Control for Cricket in India] is against this new format. This means that the Indian cricket team will not be playing any 4-day test match in the near future.

DSP has been experimenting without crossing the boundaries of commercial music and he is reinventing himself all the time.

Criticism is growing on Devi’s music recently that it is becoming routine and people are getting bored hearing to the same format.

His latest album ‘MCA’ has offered nothing new for the audience to hear. One will definitely say it has disappointed the audience and attracted a lot of criticism as well. In recent times, DSP did not face such a critical review. Then comes, the directors Anup Rubens and Anirudh Ravichander.

While Anup scored music for HELLO’ and receiving a superb response, Anirudh has given mind-blowing melodies with Agnathavasi and has come up with a superb output.  Two singles were out from Pawan film and both received tremendous response from the music lovers. Buzz is that the entire album is good and is going to create a sensation.

If quickly, DSP, does not come up with a wonderful music, he will have a tough time in future. Looks like Anup and Anirudh are definitely going to checkmate DSP.

Aadhaar Case extends deadline until March 31

The Apex Court on Friday agreed with the Centre’s Submissions and set the deadline of linking of Aadhaar card with the bank accounts, mobile numbers, and various other schemes as March 31st, 2018.

A five-judge constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra said the final hearing on the petitions would begin from January 17 next year.  The court earlier had 22 cases tagged and they are to be heard by a smaller bench.

It is a big challenge to these cases, with many aspects of Aadhaar card, including the use of data collected under the Unique Identification Program.

But an Aadhaar holder opening a new bank account will have to furnish his Aadhaar card to the bank ordered on Friday. The extension of the deadline is only for non-Aadhaar holders opening new bank accounts. During the interim, they can furnish their Aadhaar enrollment application to the bank.

In a recent release of data about keywords, Google had made some stark discoveries. Google said that top 5 keyword searches in Pakistani features 3 Bollywood movie names.

Surprisingly, the Amir Khan starrer, Dangal stood out as the third highest searched keyword in 2017 in Pakistan. The film did not have its release in Pakistan after Amir Khan refused to remove the Indian National Anthem and National flag on the directions of Pakistan Censor board.

The second film that came in the top 5 searched words in 2017 from Pakistan was, Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’. The film stood in fourth place in the top 5 searched words. Raees was banned in Pakistan after the Censor board opinionated that the film showed Muslims in a bad light. One shouldn’t forget the fact that, even Shah Rukh Khan is a Muslim.

Finally, Rishi Kapoor took the fourth spot in terms of Google searches related to people in 2017 in Pakistan. This might be due to this recent comments about Pakistan and India taking their respective stance on Kashmir.

‘Natural Star’ Nani starrer ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’ has just completed censor formalities. The Censor Board has awarded the film a U/A certificate. This means everyone including the children can watch the film. Only that Parental Guidance is required for children below the age of 12 years. Sources close to the Censor board have confirmed that the film has received a positive talk from the censor board members, praising the family drama in the film.

The film’s producer, Dil Raju was seen very happy coming out from the Censor Board premises. Dil Raju is hopeful that the film will be a super hit, and will be welcomed by the Telugu audience.

Given the positive response from the censor board, the expectations on the film only got bigger. Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma released the trailer for his upcoming web series ‘Kadapa’. One can call it a short film rather than a trailer. The length of the trailer is around 5 minutes. Within minutes of its release, the trailer became viral on social networking platforms given its content.

Few scenes in the trailer seemed as if they have been lifted straightaway from past faction-themed films. With no censor restrictions for videos posted on YouTube, RGV utilized it in all aspects. The trailer had profanity, bloodshed and extreme violence. The dialogues were so profane that it is difficult to even refer them.

If the trailer itself is featuring such vulgar and disturbing content, one can understand how the web series would be. RGV also stated that ‘I will show the truth in my web series. In the past, due to many reasons, I had to tone down the reality in my movies. This web series will depict the real facts and truths about factionism in Rayalaseema. I am not going to bow down to any kind of threats.’

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has set his focus on utilizing the water resources in the state, thanks to the success of Pattiseema project. With the neighboring states building dams over the Krishna river, it would be foolish for the state government to rely on Krishna waters in the near future. At the same time, most of the Godavari waters are being left out into the open sea.

Realizing these two aspects, and with the success of Pattiseema project, Chandrababu is coming up with a mega plan for the interlinking of rivers across the state at an affordable cost with the maximum outcome. In this context, the CM is carving out the project to diver the Godavari waters to Penna River in the near future.

Chandrababu has briefly gone through the studies about diverting the Godavari waters to Penna River. If this project come to light, Nellore district along with the four Rayalaseema districts would be benefited from the Penna waters.

If the Andhra Pradesh government can utilize 1/5th of the 1500 TMCs of Godavari waters [going to open sea] through this project, there would be no question of shortage of the water for agriculture and even industries in the distant future.

In a video that became viral, Venkat Reddy said ‘this is my last warning to Pawan Kalyan. I don’t mind killing him if he utters a word against Pawan Kalyan’. Later Venkat Reddy was arrested.

Interestingly, there are two murder cases on the accused. After the video became viral, YSRCP jumped into the scene and gave a press release that ‘YSRCP party is nowhere related to Venkat Reddy and ridiculed the person’s comments too’.

This turned out to be a double blow for YSRCP. After it became public that Venkat Reddy has a criminal background, many people came to a conclusion that YSRCP supporters are usually from a criminal background, while others were shocked to see YSRCP completely distancing itself from someone who was ready to kill or die for the welfare of the party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid rich tributes to the country’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel on his death anniversary today. He said that every Indian should be indebted to him for his monumental service to the nation.

Patel, who was also the first deputy Prime Minister of India, died on December 15, 1950, three years after Independence. He was aged 75 at that time. The Prime Minister appealed to the whole nation to remember the great man Sardar Patel on his Punya Thithi.

Modi earlier tweeted the great words about Sardar Patel. We all know Patel as the ‘Iron Man’ of India, Patel was instrumental in uniting the country through the merger of small princely states.

This year we are celebrating the 68th death anniversary of Patel. He was one of the most important political figures of India. He was a great political activist and lawyer.

While Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also paid his tribute to Patel and called him an exceptional leader. He also tweeted, “On Punya Thiti of Lauh Purush, Sardar Ji, and a grateful nation remembers his life and work and pays him respectful tribute. He also told that Patel was an exceptional leader who laid foundations of modern India and places nationalism at its core.

Many another cabinet MP’s and state leaders paid their tributes through social media platform.

Pakistan authorities have seized seven boats and forty-three Indian Fishermen were arrested for apparently fishing illegally in the country’s territorial waters in the Arabian Sea, told the officials. The fishermen were arrested and handed over to the Docks police, a spokesman for Pakistan’s Maritime Security Force (PMSF) said.

While the Docks police are going to present them before the judicial magistrate who will be most likely send them on judicial remand to jail, told Commander Wajid Nawaz Chaudhary. Over the last one month, as many as 144 Indian fishermen were arrested for allegedly fishing illegally in Pakistani waters. Chaudhary said speedboats and helicopters were used in the exercise when the Indian fishermen were spotted in our waters. Sadly, these fishermen from both the countries frequently get detained for illegal fishing in each other territorial waters since the Arabian Sea does not have a clearly defined marine border and the wooden boats lack the technology to avoid drifting away.

In the month of October, PMSA had arrested two batches of around 50 fishermen and again on October 29, had released 68 Indian fishermen from Malir jail as a goodwill gesture. As on date, a total of 438 fishermen were released in 12 days’ time in December 2016- January 2017 by authorities of Pakistan from Landhi and Mahir jails in Karachi.
