‘Rangasthalam’ has been engulfed in a cloud of high expectations right from the very first day. Given Sukumar’s brilliance in the screenplay, coupled with Ram Charan’s power-packed performance and Samantha’s flair and glamour, the film kept Telugu audience wanting more. The First single from Rangasthalam ‘Yentha Sakkagunnave’ just released a while back.

After it was made public that, Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music for the film, certain section from film circles did express their reservations. Frankly speaking, Devi failed to impress the audience in recent past. It felt like DSP is a risk taken by Sukumar. Both have previously collaborated for films like Arya and Arya 2, which were both musical hits.

The opening of ‘Yentha Sakkagunnave’ is very trending and catchy. Though it reminds us of the typical Godavari region folk number, the instruments used for composing brings the fresh and trendy feeling. For a change, DSP’s voice suits the song perfectly. Lyrics are sweet and bring back our old lost Telugu. Lyricist Chandrabose has taken extreme care while writing the song. One can find Godavari dialect in the song’s lyrics. The simple, yet catchy tune takes us back to golden times of folk songs with a modern facet. Once again, DSP’s guitar strings deserve a special mention.

‘Yentha Sakkagunnave’ is a unique single far away from the ‘regular’ DSP singles. Overall, ‘Yentha Sakkagunnave’ entho Sakkagundhi!

The top director Koratala Siva is busy working for his ongoing flick Bharat Ane Nenu with the superstar Mahesh Babu. He has started paving way for his next with a young star hero.

Going into the details, Koratala already announced that he is keen on working with two-star heroes for his next. One is the young Tiger NTR Jr and the other is mega power star Ram Charan Tej. unfortunately, NTR Jr is occupied with his next under Trivikram and it would take a year to complete it. Also, the hero Charan who thought of working with Koratala has started his next with Boyapati. The regular shoot of this flick has begun and the first schedule also got wrapped.

Already Charan and Koratala jointly launched their flick in the past it got shelved due to some creative differences. Still, both are eager to work with each other for their good relations. Hope this project will happen sooner or later. Despite waiting for these two heroes, Koratala has narrated a line to stylish star Allu Arjun and the latter accepted it. After finishing Naa Peru Surya, he will team up with Koratala if this project gets materialized. So Koratala will fine tune his script written for Bunny after the completion of Bharat Ane Nenu.

This Mahesh and Kiara Advani starrer are going to get released in the month of April. The producers Mythri Movie Makers wanted to release this flick later in this year to have maximum openings. DSP has scored music and background for this flick.

Natural Star Nani’s second productional venture Awe is gearing up for its release soon this month. Meanwhile, a source close to this movie’s core team has revealed a shocking truth about the movie’s producer and director.

Nani who is in terrific form has worked as an Assistant Director earlier in his career. With that knowledge, he often gives his inputs and suggestions to his directors, especially to the newcomers. If this is the case when he is a hero, imagine his extra care when he co-produced a movie. The flick Awe became the new talk of the industry for many reasons. Star cast and Nani’s Midas touch have raised huge expectations on this flick. Now the movie completed its pre-release event and all are happy with the output. But before a couple of months, this was not the case. A particular source revealed that all was not well between the director and the producer as they had creative differences. Nani used to change some shots whenever he feels the director is going out of line. As a result, the director has given up and used to agree Nani’s suggestions keeping his form, stardom, Midas touch, script selection and producer title in mind. As the final cut is also edited by Nani, all the team members are happy with the output and they are waiting for the result from the audience.

Debutant Prasanth Varma is directing this flick which has a whole new kind of genre in Telugu Cinema history. Nani along with his sister has produced this flick. Kajal, Nithya Menon, Regina, Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarsi and many more stars are playing key roles in this flick.

Rajinikanth’s next gangster thriller Kaala has completed its regular shoot and is waiting for a suitable release date post the release of 2.0. Fans of this superstar are in a mood of restlessness with the delay of 2.0 as Rajini’s last outing Kabali ended up being a flop despite good collections. So they pinned huge hopes on this flick is a mass entertainer. Such flick has generated hype right from the first look of the movie. Savithri will remain alive in the hearts of Telugu people, as long as Telugu Cinema exists. Be it her beauty, her grace, her charm or her charisma, no one is a match for her. The film titled ‘Mahanati’ is based on the life of Savithri. Keerthi Suresh is reprising the role of Savithri on the silver screen. Savithri’s film career wouldn’t be complete without NTR and ANR. Both the actors have done an innumerable number of films with Savithri. Most of the films even till date remain as classics.

The kind of impact the trio; NTR, ANR and Savithri, has is nothing short of Everest. Acknowledging this fact, ‘Mahanati’ director Nag Ashwin approached Naga Chaitanya and Jr. NTR to reprise their grandfathers, ANR and NTR respectively on the screen. While Naga Chaitanya initially agreed, he later pulled himself out of the project. While Jr. NTR declined the offer.

With no other go, and failing to find suitable actors for NTR and ANR roles, the director has opted for ‘digital representation’ of the two actors. A scene from the original movies will re-mastered and will be accordingly used in the film. Given this downside, the length of NTR and ANR characters is likely to be reduced in the film. C Ashwini Dutt is bankrolling the project under Vyjayanthi Movies. Mahanati will be releasing 2018 summer.

VV Vinayak directorial starring Sai Dharam Tej and Lavanya Tripathi ‘Inttelligent’ bombed at the box office. Right from the first show, the film received negative reviews, thanks to its bad story and routine screenplay. Except for Khaidi No.150 in his last three films, other two films. Akhil and Inttelligent turned out to be disasters at the box office.

Akhil which was made on a budget of Rs 40 crores, only managed to theatrical revenues of Rs 17 crore. Similarly, Inttelligent is having a disaster run at the box office. The producer C Kalyan is currently facing heavy loss due to Inttelligent.

Understanding the situation of the producer, director VV Vinayak came forward to compensate him partly. Going by the latest news in the Tollywood film circles, Vinayak returned a sum of Rs 5 crores to producer C Kalyan. VV Vinayak took Rs 9 crores as remuneration for directing the Sai Dharam Tej flick.

This is definitely a welcome move from a director like VV Vinayak. At the same time, it also calls for the need of different stories from the director.

Sukumar’s directorial, ‘Rangasthalam’ starring Ram Charan and Samantha, as Chitti Babu and Rama Lakshmi respectively is causing a rage in the T-Town. Despite the production unit’s efforts to keep the film free of leaks, few leaks did emerge. Soon with stringent action, there were no more leaks. This not only upset the audience but also created more anxiety about the film.

After showing Ram Charan in an ‘Oora’ mass style in the first look, Sukumar reaffirmed the fact that, Rangasthalam would be far different than his movies. Likewise, the movie’s teasers revealing the characters of Chitti Babu (Ram Charan) who is a sound engineer, and Rama Lakshmi (Samantha) who is the heartthrob of the village, were trending until very recently.

The latest buzz is that Rangasthalam first song release date has been announced. Purportedly it will be releasing on February 13th, at 5:00 pm. As soon as the news broke out, it became the feed for Mega fans to share and retweet it thousands of time.

Rangasthalam first song is titled ‘Yentha Sakkagunnave’. Going by the theme and backdrop of the movie, the song will be a folk number on Rama Lakshmi, with Chitti Babu teasing her. We have to wait until Feb 13th, 5:00 pm to listen to Rangasthalam First song! We know it’s too long. It might be worth waiting too.

Intelligent and Tholiprema Movies with Different Results

Mega fans had every reason to celebrate last week. Two films from mega family; Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Inttelligent’ and Varun Tej’s ‘Tholiprema’ released in consecutive days. Intelligent went on to become a disaster, while Tholiprema stood in the race, and is declared as a hit. If it continues to hold its box office collections towards the end of this week, it could well be declared as a super hit.

In the content-wise, Intelligent is a pure mass commercial flick. Something, of VV Vinayak kind, who directed the film. But the sad part is that the movie failed to impress the audience at the box office, and resulted in heavy loss to distributors and buyers.

Tholiprema has a simple storyline. The film opened to good talk during its US premiers. Thanks to the clean content, the movie was well received in overseas. The positive talk from the overseas released propelled the movie further in the Telugu States.

Tholiprema collections are Rs 18 crores (gross) after 2 days, while Intelligent collections are Rs 4.5 crores (gross) after 3 days. Reports have surfaced that, Intelligent field to even recover 20% of its investment so far.

Natural Nani is having a ball at the box office. With blockbuster and super hits at the box office, the hero is leading the race among young heroes in Tollywood. Though he cannot be compared with his seniors like Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and others, Nani has his own place in Tollywood. In fact, after Ravi Teja in the past, it is Nani who is considered as a minimum guarantee hero for the producers.

Moreover, classy and artistic director Sekhar Kammula came up with a blockbuster like Fidaa after a row of average films. The director is known for his simple yet engaging screenplay, and the ability to bring out the audience emotions to life.

According to reliable sources, Nani gave his nod to the script narrated by Sekhar Kammula recently. Most likely, Dil Raju or Asian Cinemas will be bankrolling the film. However, given Nani’s current commitments, it is highly unlikely that the movie will on to sets this year.

Nani is currently busy with his production venture ‘Awe’ and another film ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham’. Awe is scheduled to release on Feb 16th, while Krishnarjuna Yuddham is slated to release on April 12th. Nani would be seen in a multi starrer film with Nagarjuna, under the direction of Sriram Aditya.
