Superstar Mahesh Babu is currently starring in a ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ under Koratala Siva direction. The production unit started the promotions rather in a unique way. The ‘First Oath’ by Mahesh Babu released at 7:00 am today morning. Mahesh Babu is heard taking the oath as the Chief Minister of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Bharat Ane Nenu is Mahesh’s 24th film as a hero in his career.

The ‘First Oath’ certainly raised expectations on the movie. Another reason for launching the ‘First Oath’ at 7:00 am is, real-time politicians often take their oath at the same time in presence of state governor. In fact, it was speculated that Mahesh Babu will be seen as the Chief Minister. But at no stage, the production unit confirm the same. The film is of high importance to Mahesh Babu’s career. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s previous films, Brahmotsavam and Spyder bombed at the box office. If Mahesh needs to prove himself as the box-office king, Bharat Ane Nenu should be an extension to Srimanthudu.‘Srimanthudu’ which came in the duo’s combination in 2015, became a blockbuster hit at the box-office.

Ram Gopal Varma is busy debating on various TV news channels, woman organizations, and other social activists on the row over his film ‘God, Sex, and Truth’. The film starring Mia Malkova is all set to release on January 26th, 2018. Though Ram Gopal Varma did not pledge everyone to watch the film, many are criticizing the maverick director’s responsibility towards society. In fact, it is the TV Channels that gave excessive publicity to the film.

Amidst all this drama, the Hyderabad Civil court served notices to Ram Gopal Varma. Jayakumar who previously worked in the creative department under Ram Gopal Varma filed a case against the director. In his petition, Jayakumar accused Ram Gopal Varma of plagiarizing his script.

‘The script and title ‘God, Sex and Truth’ was mine. I sent it Ram Gopal Varma for review. After seeing the trailer of ‘God, Sex, and Truth’, I realized that it was a blind copy of my script. RGV used it even seeking my permission. Every word uttered by Mia Malkova is from my script’, said Jayakumar in a recent interview to a news channel.According to the serves notices to Ram Gopal Varma, the director has to appear in person on February 27th, 2018.

Pawan Kalyan, famously known as Power Star will no more be a part of any films in the future. The star hero decided to quit films, for his political ambitions. The same has been confirmed by him during a press meet, during his political Yatra, Chalo re Chalo re Chal!

In fact, his decision disappointed many of his fans and supporters. Likewise, producers and distributors expressed their displeasure after he announced his decision to quit films. But why? Why should producers and distributors be disappointed, at a time when his films are bombing at the box office?

There is a reason indeed. Pawan Kalyan’s last three films; Sardar Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu, and Agnyaathavaasi, bombed at the box office. Each film went on to create records in terms of loss to producers, distributors, and exhibitors.

Coming as a second installment of the Gabbar Singh franchise, Sardar Gabbar Singh resulted in the loss of Rs. 20 crores. Similarly, Katamarayudu, which everyone thought would recover the previous losses, ended up collecting 60 crores (approximately). The film was sold for Rs. 90 crores. This resulted in a loss of Rs. 30 crores. Finally, his last film, Agnyaathavasi needs special mention. The film’s losses are expected to be around 60-70 crores.

Taking inflation, and other estimations, the overall losses could mount up to Rs. 120+ crores. Eventually, it is the producers, distributors, and exhibitors who are facing the music with Pawan Kalyan’s exit from Tollywood.

Current generation directors often come up with scripts from infamous novels and claim them as theirs. Kaala movie assistant director sent notice to Rajinikanth, the film’s producer Dhanush and director Pa Ranjith. Speaking at a press meet, assistant director Rajasekharan said, ‘I penned the script 10 years ago. I was looking forward to making the movie with Rajinikanth sir with the same title. Director Pa Ranjith allegedly copied the script and is making the film’.

Hero Dhanush is producing the film on ‘Wunderbar Films’ production banner. Assistant director Rajasekharan approached the Chennai Court in 2017. Meanwhile, Wunderbar Films claimed that the script was written by Pa Ranjith himself. On hearing this, the Chennai court advised Rajasekharan to approach the Madras High court.

Madras High Court came forward to hear the petition filed by Rajasekharan. In the notice sent to Rajinikanth, Dhanush and Pa Ranjith, the court asked the three to give an explanation before February 12th.

Padmavat movie Review

Introduction:

Frankly, there is no much difference between the title ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Padmavathi’. No idea why there is a row even for the film’s title. Padmavat has been the epicentre of various controversies, especially in North India. Most notably, Karni Sena from Rajasthan and other Hindu-organizations across the nation threatened to vandalize theatres. Likewise, sets of Padmavat were vandalized, set on fire, and were broken by protestors. Finally, with Supreme Court extending its full support, the will be released on 25.01.2018. The film unit came up with a special screening of the 3D Telugu version for distinguished reporters in Hyderabad last evening, 23.01.2018. Let us see how the film fared on the silver screen.

Story:

Instead of a story, the movie can be termed as a historical reference. The movie is based on a poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540 AD. The movie’s script is written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Prakash Kapadia. The Maharaja of Chittoor, Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) of the Mewar Rajput Kingdom dynasty visits the Sinhala. During his search for diamonds and valuable stones, he spots Sinhalese Princess Padmavathi (Deepika Padukone), who is beautiful, smart and a great political strategist. They both fall in love with each other and eventually get married.

A minister from the king’s court sees the couple in their intimate moments. Furious over the incident, Maharaja expels him out of the kingdom. Humiliated by the action, the minister pledges to destroy Chittoor fort in Vengeance, and asylum under Delhi Sultan Allauddin Khilji. The minister talks at length about Rani Padmavathi’s beauty, her charm. Khilji, a sexual fanatic, expresses his desire of having Padmavathi on hearing this. He immediately sets for war on Chittoor Fort with his infantry to conquer the kingdom and Padmavathi.

Did Ratan Singh fight a war with Allauddin Khilji? If so, how did he face him? How Rani Padmavathi won even without fighting the war? Did Khilji even see her? To find these answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Analysis & Performance:

Padmavat is truly the brainchild of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Each frame in the film reminds you of the MF Hussain’s painting on the canvas. The director has been successful in taking the audience into the 14th century. Richness and grandeur can be seen in every frame of the movie. The script work was so foolproof that, there is hardly any misrepresentation of historical facts throughout the movie.

Deepika Padukone befittingly reprises the role of Rani Padmavathi. Be it the beauty, charm, or outlook, Deepika nailed it. No doubt, the film is taken to the next level by Deepika Padukone. Similarly, Shahid Kapoor to excelled brilliantly as Ratan Singh. The love drama between Deepika and Shahid is a treat to watch. The interval twists raise hopes on the second half of the film immensely. The emotional depiction of Rani Padmavathi is terrific. Ranveer Singh as Allauddin Khilji is a standout in the film. Cruelty, strategies and cunningness shown by his character is nothing short of sheer brilliance. Jim Sarbh who played the role of Malik Khafur, slave to Khilji did well.

The BGM and visual effects breathe in life and given depth to the film. The visuals are outstanding and capturing. The film’s cinematographer deserves a special mention. One might feel, the director could have brought in more action episodes, given the grandeur, depth and drama in the film.
