Don’t be Scared if Movie Tickets Charged More!

In the past five years, the ticket prices rose between 50% to 150%, given the theatre’s location, and theatre’s setup. With the increase in ticket prices, the moviegoer was forced to think twice before he wanted to watch a movie in a movie theatre.

Even then, the producers still demanded the increase in ticket prices. After the Andhra Pradesh government said it is not possible to increase the ticket prices, prominent people from the film industry approached the High Court.

After hearing the proceedings, the High Court overruled the government’s decision and allowed the producers to the increase the ticket prices. This ruling came as an ‘imminent’ order, with the High Court requesting the government to submit its petition on why shouldn’t the ticket prices increase.

The recent ruling from the court came as a shocker to the average moviegoer. In the past, the average ticket prices were between Rs. 40 and Rs. 60. After the increase in price, they shot up to Rs.80 and Rs. 150. Given the latest ruling, the minimum price of a movie ticket could touch Rs. 100. It costs Rs. 1000 and more for a family of 4, to watch a movie in a multiplex in the theatre, given the ticket prices and high prices of eatables.

Both the films went on to create box office records. It has been close to two decades since ‘wizard of words’ Trivikram Srinivas began his film career. With the film Athadu (2005), Trivikram turned to direction. Despite such a long career, the star director only directed 8 films to his name. One of the main reason for directing less number of movies is the amount of hard work he puts in developing the story, screenplay and writing the dialogues of the film. Given his 8 films in 12 years, the director’s average is less than one move per year.

Shockingly, in 2018, Trivikram is coming up with three films. His latest movie, ‘Agnathavasi’ starring Pawan Kalyan is slated to release on January 10th. The director also planned to complete his next feature film with NTR within 4 months, and release the film for 2018 Dusshera festival. Post the completion of the film with NTR, Trivikram will be directing Venkatesh in a new movie. Even the Trivikram-Venkatesh movie is slated to release in December 2018.

The movie with Venkatesh is likely going to be a Bollywood movie remake. The rumoured movie is Jolly LLB2. The director’s fans are more than delighted, given three releases from his end. And interestingly, all the films are of star heroes, who have a massive fan following.

The upcoming movie ‘Agnathavasi’ in Pawan Kalyan – Trivikram Srinivas combination is gearing up for its release in the coming few days. Given the film’s release on 10th January, film circles are hoping that Sankranti celebrations are about to start on the same day. ‘Agnathavasi’ movie is having the largest release ever for a Telugu movie overseas and in Telugu states. The film is releasing in 576+ location in the US alone.

It is learned that ‘Agnathavasi’ team has a target for its premier shows collections. The premiere shows have already collected $2 million, and the makers are eyeing on the $3 million mark. Usually, depending on the film’s star cast, and the hype around it, distributors in the US host premier shows in key locations. The film is expected to collect $7 million to $8 million during its full run in the US.

The local distributors in the US are already confident that the film will break all the non-Baahubali records, and will be a trendsetter in the US. Given the hype around the film and Pawan mania, it looks like all other releases for the Sankranti in the summer are likely to be blown away.

Chiyaan Vikram, without any doubt, is one of the finest actors Indian Cinema has. The actor mainly focuses on those roles or characters that elevate him and also looks for a good plot. He signs films only when these requirements are fulfilled. In the process, most of his films end up failing in spite of his performance has been widely appreciated. As time passed, the actor’s literally lost market in Telugu film industry and the actor too is not keen or bothered much on this.

Actors like Surya, Karthi, Dhanush, and Vishal have been very keen on making their comeback in Tollywood, but Vikram seems to have kept Tollywood aside. Vikram’s last movie 10 Endrathukulla failed to get a simultaneous release in Telugu and his Iru Murugan released Inkokkadu and shelled at the box-office.

The actor finished his shoot of his next film titled ‘Sketch’ which completed all the post-production formalities, recently. The sketch is directed by Vijay Chander and Female lead is played by Tammanah is all geared up for wide release in Tamil during Sankranthi. There is no indication of Telugu release and this hints once again that Vikram is least interested in Tollywood.

While the actor has Dhruva Natchathiram and Saamy Square which are still undershoot.

The central government has cancelled recognition of Akkineni Foundation’ due to non-submission of Income Tax returns. Few other NGO’s are also on the line that has been axed.

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister informed Rajya Sabha that the government cancelled recognition of 190 organizations in Telangana and 450 in Andhra Pradesh states for negligence in filing IT returns which included Akkineni International Foundation.

Even though Akkineni Foundation took a lot of social activities including organizing health camps in rural areas and even presented ‘Akkineni National Awards’. In spite of getting funds from foreign countries, they did not bother to file returns for the previous financial year. The government also notified the NGO’s earlier too to file returns which get funds from foreign countries. It stated clearly that they should submit annual income information and in case if they fail to provide the same, it cancelled the recognition, the Union Minister addressed Rajya Sabha.

We have to wait and see what ‘Akkineni Foundation’ response will on this issue.

Amidst all the hysteria for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Agnathavasi’ which is set to release on 10TH January, Nani’s first movie as a producer is also equally followed and anticipated films in this New Year. Yes, we are talking about the most waited teasers, ‘Awe’ and it is out. It looks pretty captivating from the beginning until the end of the one-minute-long video. With an exciting star cast and storyline so uncertain, and suspense-filled, it is drawing huge attention from the audience already. The makers of the film released the teaser and it is interestingly thought to evoke and to captivate.

There isn’t much shown as far as the story is concerned, with only leaving few clues here and there teasing the audience. They have shown a café and revolved the whole story around it. Lead actors like Nitya Menon, Kajal Agarwal, Regina Cassandra, Priyadarshini, Eesha Rabbah, Murali Sharma and Srinivas Avasarala all are presented uniquely and never seen been avatars.

The cast looked totally disintegrated from each other with story joining them to one common point.

For a change, Nani did not act in the movie but gave his voice along with hero Ravi Teja. While Nani spoke for a fish and Ravi Teja for a tree. Teaser introduces itself with a dialogue between Nani the fish and Ravi the tree. Gradually the director movies his camera to the characters and familiarize them one more time to the audience one after the other. Just as Nani spoke in the film, the movies hero is the “Story” itself.

Even though it is Nani’s second film as a producer, he looks pretty creative not only in acting but also in presenting. The teaser definitely looks fresh like the debut director Prashant. The director’s real caliber can only be judged once we all see the final film.

Nani has co-produced the film with Prasanthi under Wall Poster Cinema banner.
