The recent incident of a woman being set ablaze in the city sent tremors state-wide. Many ‘Pro-Women Organizations’ came forward questioning the safety and security of a woman. The accused is identified as Karthik, and the victim was identified as Sandhya Rani.

Addressing a press-meet, Sandhya Rani’s mother, Savithri pleaded the electronic and press media not to tarnish the character of her daughter, who lost life in the gruesome incident.

‘All the media reports claiming that Karthik used to drop my daughter at her office, and drop her again at home is untrue. I request the police authorities to verify the CCTV footage and enquire people living near our house. There is absolutely no relation between Karthik and Sandhya.

I doubt that even Karthik’s mother is involved in this incident. I want the police to inquire her. I demand the law enforcement authorities to severely punish Karthik. Even setting Karthik ablaze is my daughter’s last wish,’ said Savithri, mother of Sandhya Rani.

Battula Ram Prasad, State President of ‘Mala Sankshema Sangham’ of Telangana, who was present at the press meet termed the murder of Sandhya Rani as another Nirbhaya incident. He demanded that the government should give Rs. 50 Lakhs as compensation, a government job, a house along with Rs. 5,000 as pension for Sandhya Rani’s mother, Savithri.

During the 2014 AP Assembly Elections, apart from TV9, ETV and ABN channels, rest all channels supported YS Jagan. Post the elections too, channels like NTV have extended their support to YS Jagan. After Chandrababu gave a stern warning, NTV has toned down a bit. But given the upcoming election fever within the next couple of months, it looks like TDP and Chandrababu are worried.

Narayan Educational institutions founder and Minister for ‘Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Urban Housing’ Dr P Narayana, became one of the key persons for AP CM Chandrababu Naidu in the recent times. Even without any political familiarity, P Narayana went on to become the State Cabinet Minister, given his close relations with the CM.

The latest news is that Narayana is trying to contest in the upcoming 2019 AP Assembly elections and became an MLA. It is still unclear from where he would be contesting. Close sources to the Minister stated that Narayana is looking to contest from his own district Nellore.

Politics in Nellore are more complex then they appear to be. Though settlements can be reached before the day of voting, one cannot predict the outcome of the elections. ‘Caste’ plays a key role in Nellore politics. Many local ‘Reddy’ leaders in Nellore are expecting TDP ticket to contest in the elections.

More or less, it would be a tough challenge for Narayana if he still chooses to contest from Nellore. As an alternative, it is also understood that P Narayana is considering Tirupati as an alternative. In the past, Chiranjeevi too contested from two places; Tirupati and Mogaltur. Though Chiranjeevi lost in Mogaltur, he won from Tirupati. Currently, Narayana is also looking to contest either from Nellore or Tirupati.

A shocking incident came to light after a family complained that their daughter is married to another woman. Going into the details, Mounika (20) and Ramadevi (18) are working in a local textile mill in Pulivendhula, YSR Kadapa district. They both have been staying in the same house for past few months. Soon their friendship developed into love, and reportedly both the women got married in a secret marriage.

Post that, Ramadevi started to get ready in a male attire. Given her boyish looks and short hair, it is easy for anyone to mistake her for a man. On account of Christmas, Mounika visited her family in her village. Mounika’s parents noted that their daughter has been repeatedly taking the name of ‘Ramadevi’ and stated, she cannot live with Ramadevi.

Getting worried about their daughter’s state, Mounika’s parents immediately brought the matter to police notice. The police officials were shocked when they came to know that Mounika and Ramadevi got married.

The police said, ‘In our investigation, we found out that Ramadevi married two women in the past. This is the third marriage [with Mounika] for Ramadevi. We counselled both the women. Ramadevi is admitted to the hospital after she stopped eating for the past few days. We will take action very soon.’

The incident once again sheds light on ‘same-gender marriages’ in Indian society.

The Indian Army took its revenge after the Pakistan soldiers killed four Indian soldiers including a Major. The Indian border security forces took the Pakistani troops by surprise with the cross-border strike. Shockingly, the Indian Army trespassed the line of control and entered Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

The Pakistan government officials have confirmed the deaths of its soldiers but denied any involvement of their troops in the killing of four Indian soldiers. A group of small infantry battalion was deployed in the Poonch sector by the Indian army. The Pakistani troops on realizing the trespassing of Indian troops started marching towards the line of control. They [Pakistani Troops] were stunned after the IED exploded. It took a while before they recovered.

The Indian troops opened a barrage of fire at the looming Pakistani troops. 3 Pakistani soldier suffered an instant death, while another Pakistani soldier succumbed to injuries. The Pakistani soldiers belonged to the 59th Baloch Regiment.

Interestingly, the Indian Infantry Battalion troop informed the headquarters before carrying out the strike. The headquarters replied them asking ‘do it swiftly as Pakistan would not be expecting a retaliation this soon from our side.’

The Indian troop’s strike was appreciated by every citizen of the nation.

After Hyderabad Metro Rail was officially launched for public commuters, everyone celebrated it as a great festival. The commuters, especially travelling by TSRTC Buses and personal two-wheelers vehicles thought that travelling in the metro would greatly reduce their travelling time. Even before a month, commuters started complaining about the metro services.

Commuters stated that metro is failing to serve its main purpose of reducing time. ‘Metro trains are scheduled to stop for 20 seconds at every metro station. Instead, they are halting for more than a minute. At times even 5 minutes,’ said a commuter.

This is troubling the commuters. It is also motivating them to look at other alternatives, TSRTC buses and personal vehicles. Recently, a metro train stopped at the Begumpet station for 7 minutes. The trains have been even stopping in the midway for reasons unknown (to the commuters). The commuters are forced to travel in the metro, irrespective of the delays, once they purchase the ticket.

The commuters also complained about the span of ‘train interchange time’ at Ameerpet station. Due to the delay, many commuters nagged about missing other trains. Even after waiting 15 minutes due to the interchange, the trains run behind the clock.

What thought to be a comfortable air-conditioned travel, reducing the travel time, turned to be a nightmare for many commuters.

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications (or simply RCom) is currently in a deep financial crunch. The company is forced to sell its possessions and holdings to stay afloat. This has been continuing for the past couple of years.

The latest news is that Anil Ambani had finally come out with a plan to clear its long-standing debts to national and international investors. The company loans stood out at Rs. 45,000 crores. RCom has borrowed Rs. 25,000 crores from Indian financiers and 20,000 crores from foreign financiers. RCom has borrowed Rs. 11,500 crores alone from a Chinese firm.

Anil Ambani stated that he is planning to sell the spectrum rights, cell towers and even Dhirubhai Knowledge city along with other realty properties to accumulate close to Rs. 40,000 crores. It is understood that Anil Ambani moves comes after 35 National and International banks wanted to takeover RCom assets.

Anil Ambani believes that post the ‘Debt Recovery plan’ the company would only be having Rs. 6,000 crores debt. ‘We are planning to change the company to B2B – Business to Business format. This not only allows us to concentrate on providing services,’ said Anil Ambani.

The Debt Recovery Plan will be implemented in an 8-stage process and will be completed in 40 days. After the news, Reliance Communications share price improved by 31.90% and closed at Rs. 21.50 at the NSE.

It looks like Karnataka CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah is above all this. The Chief Minister of Karnataka is facing severe backlash on social media after he hosted a luncheon for local officials and party members.

Kalburgi is the most drought-affected district in the state of Karnataka. Local farmers are committing suicides due to lack of ‘minimum price support’. The same has been widely reported in the state and national media channels. During such a critical time, the CM of Karnataka hosted the lavish luncheon party for his party members and local officials at a reported expense of Rs.10 Lakhs, according to BJP leader Raj Kumar Telkur.

Raj Kumar demanded an apology from the CM and asked him to take immediate action for the betterment of lives of the farmers. Karnataka Government did not respond to the allegations.

Yes, you heard me right. A 5-star hotel in Space is indeed coming up. The tourism sector is crossing all its limitations and crawling towards space tourism. Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities) is planning huge. It has made plans to build a 20-ton, 51- foot long luxury hotel module on the International Space Station (ISS) with facilities like sleeping quarters, hygiene and medical stations, a lounge area, exercise equipment and Wi-Fi.

The cost estimated for construction of this luxury hotel would be around $279 million-$ 446 million which is around Rs.18, 000 crores to Rs.28, 000 crores. A passenger will have to pay $ 40 million (Rs.256 crores) for a 2-week stay at the space hotel. A month-long stay and spacewalk will be costing around $20 million (Rs.128 crores). The passengers can watch the Earth too, take selfies and they can walk on the satellite as well.

The Russian Space Agency is aiming to send the passengers to the space hotel within a span of two years from now. Common space enthusiasts who are interested and also have money can plan the visit now itself.

Both TDP and YSRCP wanted to pull Kotla family towards their respective parties. TDP feels that Kotla family is inkling towards them, given their experience with YS Jagan.

The recent move from Chandrababu to filed KE Prabhakar as MLC candidate is also seen as a move to welcome Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy into TDP. Inside sources said that Chandrababu fielded KE Prabhakar Reddy only after taking a promise that the KE Brothers wouldn’t have any objection for Kotla to enter TDP.

Party sources have confirmed that it’s a matter of time before Chandrababu officially announces Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy as the contestant for the Kurnool Lok Sabha seat.

In a bid to overcome ‘big city disease’ the Chinese government stated that the environmental pollution and scarcity of public resources including education, transport, and the population of Shanghai, the financial hub of the nation, will be limited to 25 million by the year 2035.

‘Big city disease’ is the term given to megacities, where the city is plagued by medical care occurs due to the ever-growing population.

The Chinese authorities have also stated that the land available for construction will not exceed the limit of 3,200 sq.km. According to the master plan, the authorities said they would intensify the efforts in preserving historic sites and the environment.

As of 2015, 24.15 million are identified as ‘permanent residents’ in residing in Shanghai. The latest development comes after the Government gave a nod to the ‘Shanghai Masterplan 2017 – 2035’ prepared by the state authorities.

The move is greatly welcomed by various nations across the continents and is seen as a possible solution to tackle ever-increasing pollution outcries in megacities.

Many political pundits thought that Telugu Film Industry would start moving to Amravati after the formation of new state of Andhra Pradesh. But to everyone’s surprise, nothing like that took place. Producers, directors and heroes are reluctant to ditch Hyderabad and move to Amaravati, at least as of the date. Understanding the situation, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has come out with a strategic plan.

The AP government is ready to sell 20 – 30 acres of land at a price of Rs. 50 lakhs for the constructional purpose of a film studio. The government is implementing single window procedure. It is heard that AP Sarkar is ready to give tax benefits and reimbursements on various fronts.

Chandrababu is aiming to create a full-fledged business park hosting various media houses by 2021. From 2021 for about 15 years, the AP Government is planning to host international film carnival. Slowly but steadily, Chandrababu is putting all the efforts to bring International standard film studios and Tollywood film industry to Amaravati.

In a recent technological demonstration, Russian scientists demonstrated a unique breathing technology. The Russian scientists have developed an oxygen-containing liquid, which makes underwater breathing possible. The technology was demonstrated by Russia’s Deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin during the visit of Serbian President Alexander in Moscow.

In a video posted on a Russian website, a dog [dachshund] named Nikolas was put into the oxygen-containing liquid. The dog initially wriggled to free himself. But after the liquid got into his lungs, the dog relatively calmed down and started breathing. It was taken out after few seconds by the researchers. Russian scientists are hoping that even humans can breathe underwater given their technological development. It is still unclear how long it would take for the technology to be available on a mass scale. This development is seen as ‘Russia’s preparation for the next World War’ by its foes.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan stole all the limelight as they stood as a center of attraction at the Governor ESL Narasimhan feast to President Ram Nath Kovind in Hyderabad. The two mega brothers exchanged pleasantries immediately after coming face to face with each other. Rana Daggubati was also present and played a witness to the conversation between Chiru and Pawan.

Later, the governor introduced them both to the President and they even took part in the photo session.

Everything is alright till then, but what caught media’s attention, the other people present at the function is the conversation between mega Brothers and CM’s of both the Telugu States. KCR must have spent a few minutes interacting with Chiranjeevi. It can recall that megastar showered praises on Telangana CM at the Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu.

On the other side, Pawan Kalyan spoke separately with Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao. Most of the conversations between these people were regarding the issues of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
