The mushroom growth of instant messaging apps and social networking sites has made the lives of people very easy. At the same time, conning people too became easy. Shockingly, an upcoming heroine is caught cheating Germany-based NRI, G Balamurugan.

The upcoming actress is identified as 21-year-old Shruti, whose debut film ‘Aadi Pona Aavani’ is yet to release. The police arrested the actress, her mother, her brother and a man who posed as her father for cheating G Balamurugan. The NRI originally belongs to Salem (Tamil Nadu) and is working in an automobile company in Germany. The actress introduced herself with the pseudo name, Mythili Venkatesh.

G Balamurugan transferred a sum of Rs. 41 lakhs to Shruti Patel’s account, after the actress told him her mother was undergoing treatment for a heart ailment, and she was undergoing treatment for a brain tumour. The money has been transferred between May 2017 and Jan 01, 2018 in instalments. G Balamurugan who shared the pictures of the actress, with friends and the family, came to know he was conned after they informed him that, she robbed several others.

The ruling party failed to even secure 1/3 of the vote count. Congress and BJP termed their victory as the beginning of the end to KCR and TRS in Telangana.

The BJP candidate won in the Gangadhar MPTC seat, and Congress won in Asanapalli MPTC seat. What’s more shocking is, the Congress candidate, Manohar won with a great majority over his opponent from TRS.

The Karimnagar MPTC elections results proved the predictions of an easy win by TRS wrong. This is as an eye-opener to the TRS Government and CM KCR in Telangana. Many great heroes who were a part of the Telangana movement are from Karimnagar. The TRS government is facing severe criticism within the own party after an MLC and few groups raised their voice against the CM KCR itself.

Few surveys conducted by various media houses and political parties pointed the rise in an anti-TRS slogan in few regions of Telangana. With Congress recouping its strength, and BJP making swift moves, TRS needs to prepare for a combat battle in 2019 Telangana Assembly elections.

It is not new for filmmakers to make some repairs to feature films, post their release. Thanks to the satellite theatres, which allows changes to be incorporated into the film, even after its release, with ease. The same is the case with Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi, which completely back-fired at the box-office.            

Though the film’s runtime is less than 150mins, the pale screenplay and lame comedy tested the audience patience. The makers have decided to make carry out repair-work, to make the film more appealing. It is already announced that Venkatesh’s part, spanning over 4mins, will be added to the film on Pongal. Along with the addition, the makers are planning to chop of 12mins of runtime from the film.

 

Few unwanted and lame comedy scenes will make the 12min-cut. This leaves the film with a total runtime of 140mins (after adding 4mins and deducting 12mins to the previous 148min run time). The production house also released a making video of Venkatesh’s comedy scenes.This means Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi will be visiting Janatha Garage. Let us whether the repaired version will be appealing to the already disappointed audience.

With Pawan’s and Balakrishna’s film bombing at the box office, Ram Charan would have had a great run with his film.

For the first time, Ram Charan is sporting a pure mass look. Rangasthalam is set in a village backdrop, and has all the elements of a typical Telugu commercial movie, with great screenplay and direction from Sukumar. Ram Charan’s film would have grossed Rs. 100 crores with ease, even if it had fared decently at the box-office.

Further elaborating his post, RGV said, ‘if PK (Pawan Kalyan) is Agnyaathavaasi, who is in exile, I’m Bahiranga Vaasi, someone who speaks about many things openly’. The tweet received thousands of likes and re-tweets in a short span of time. On the first day of the movie’s release, RGV also hailed Kathi Mahesh’s analysis of the movie.

Even Balakrishna’s 100th film, ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ emerged as a super hit at the 2017 Tollywood box-office.

Though 2017 started with a bang, TFI did manage to maintain the momentum through the year. The year saw a good number of films that shined at the box office films. We had blockbusters in the form of Baahubali – The Conclusion, Khaidi No.150, Arjun Reddy and Fida. While Gautami Putra, Shatamanam Bhavathi, Nenu Local, Jai Lava Kusa, and Mahanubhavudu emerged as super hits. Films like Ninnu Kori, Anando Brahma, Raju Gari Gandhi and Raja the Great were recorded as hits at the box office.

But this year, Agnyaathavaasi and Jai Simha, that released on Jan 10th and Jan 12th, toppled at the box office. Agnyaathavaasi which grossed $1.51M for its US premiers ended up collecting mere $45K on its second day. The expectations on Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’ rose all of a sudden with the film’s trailer. The powerful dialogues and action sequences coupled with sentiment and glamour failed to impress the audience.If the same is to continue, the Telugu audience and TFI needs to brace itself for more to come.

A police constable reportedly raped a 7-year-old girl in Gautham Budh Nagar, Greater Noida on Wednesday evening. The accused was identified as 45-year-old Subhash Singh, who came on Sales Tax Department deputation and was living in a rented house. He lured the young girl by offering her Rs. 10 and inviting her into the house.

What more worst was, he raped the young girl in front the girl’s brother. As the girl began to cry, he fled the place. On hearing the girl’s cry, neighbors immediately rushed to place and admitted the girl to the hospital. Subhash Singh, just like his usual self, came back the next day, only to be trashed by the locals. He is handed over to the police, an investigation is underway.

The stage is set for the execution of an Indian NRI living in the US on February 23rd. Raghunandan Yandamuri, 32, was given death penalty for killing a 10-month-old baby, Sanvi and her 61-year-old grandmother, Sathyavathi in 2014. Raghunandan kidnapped the baby for ransom and later killed her.

Raghunandan, who is a native of Vishakhapatnam, completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and worked in the US on H-1B visa. He made friends with a young couple Veena Prasad Reddy and Latha, who were living in Pennsylvania, US. The couple belonged to Hanumanthupadu Village, Prakash district.

After killing Sanvi, and Sathyavathi cruelly, Raghunandan took part in the search for the missing baby and the grandmother. He planned the murder so carefully, leaving no clue for the investigation agencies. The police arrested him after a letter demanding the ransom, written by him was found. The Judicial high court in Pennsylvania had given the death penalty to Raghunandan for the heinous crime he has committed. The execution is likely to take place by injecting a series of injections, consisting of a sleep-inducer, and followed by a lethal injection, into the criminal’s body. The death would be painless, as the criminal will be losing his consciousness after the first injection.

But the chances of his execution are slim, given the rules set by the Governor of Pennsylvania, and the past history. The state has not seen any executions in the last 20 years.

Indian Space Research Organization has achieved an astonishing feat after it successfully launching the 42nd flight of PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle). This mission is marked as PSLV-C40, which soared into the skies carrying 31 satellites into outer space, of which 28 belonged to other nations, and 3 belonging to India. The launch took place at 0929 hours from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) or Sriharikota High Altitude Range (SHAR) rocket launch center. 

The 710 kg Cartosat-2F was the major payload on this flight. There were tense moments as the countdown neared for zero for the launch after the previous PSLV mission ended as a failure. Along with Cartosat-2F, a micro and a nanosatellite were put in space by ISRO. The Cartosat-2F marks the 100th satellite put by ISRO into outer space.

Cartosat-2F is the third in the Cartosat-2 series satellites. These satellites are primarily used as Earth Observation Satellite orbiting in the SSO (Sun Synchronous Orbit). The satellites house panchromatic and multispectral cameras, capable of producing images up to 1-meter resolution from an average altitude of 632km from outer space. These high-resolution images are used for Road Network monitoring, Urban and Rural planning, Utilization of Coast resources and for security purposes.The PSLV is the workhorse of the ISRO, standing over 145 feet tall, and weighing 2,20,000kgs. ISRO placed 104 satellites in a single launch last year.

Arjun was hailed for his all-around performance by the Australian media. He made his debut in Australia and represented Cricketer’s Club of India. Speaking to the media post the match, Arjun said, it is a privilege playing on the ground named after legendary cricketer Don Bradman.

While Sachin Tendulkar is a batsman, his son Arjun opted to be a pacer. ‘Right from my childhood, I had a passion for pace bowling. With time, I just got stronger (growing up), grew taller and I loved my bowling. There aren’t many fast bowlers in India. I thought I could be one’, said Arjun.

Sachin had a great impact on Arjun as a sportsman. Arjun said, ‘Play for yourself. Try to contribute as much as you can to your team, said Dad’.

This meet was described as an ‘olive branch’ extension by PM Modi, who saw to strike an alliance with TDP once again in Andhra Pradesh. But the AP CM reportedly came up with a list of proposals and necessitated the need to fulfil them immediately. Following are the list of the proposal put forth by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu:

  1. Polavaram project to cost Rs. 58,000 crores. The completion of the project before 2019 will be Centre’s responsibility.
  2. Fulfil all commitments made in the AP Reorganization Act.
  3. The increase of assembly constituency seats from 175 to 225 in Andhra Pradesh.
  4. Allocation of funds in the upcoming national budget for AP Capital Construction.
  5. Bearing Revenue deficit, Dhungarajupatnam Port, and political issues.

Post the leaders meeting, JC Diwakar Reddy hinted that BJP and TDP are likely to form an alliance once again in Andhra Pradesh.

The Story:

The movie opens with Narasimha (Balayya) holding a one-year-old child in his arms, travelling from one city to another city across the country before he finally settles in Kumbakkonam. He establishes his livelihood there and starts working as a driver for a temple priest (Murali Mohan).

Despite leading a peaceful life with his son, Narasimha’s patience was put to test the villain (Kalakeya Prabhakar) and a local corrupt police officer. He spots his ex-wife, Gauri during his brawl with the cop. From here, the director reveals the violent flashback of Narasimha, his acquaintance with Vijayawada politician Rami Reddy (Ashutosh Rana) and his teacher, reprised by Prakash Raj.  Who is this Narasimha? What is his background? What is his equation with Gauri? Why did he leave Vijayawada and come to live in Kumbakonam? The story revolves and evolves from here.

Analysis:

Undeniably, Balakrishna is the biggest strength of the movie. He comes up with a striking performance. Balayya’s screen presence and his trademark dialogues are bound to impress the masses. The surprise comes with his dancing skills, where his performance is worth watching. ‘Ammakutty song’ is a Sankranti treat for all his fans. Nayantara who gets a meaty role makes a strong impact on her acting and adds depth to the film.  

Her role elevates the emotional theme of the film. Prakash Raj was his usual self in his supporting role as a father to Nayantara. A couple of heroic scenes in the first half and interval scene sets the tone nicely for the second half. Hari Priya and Natasha Doshi’s have very limited screen presence. Ashutosh Rana and Prabhakar did a good job as villains. Brahmanandam comedy did not work out well. Rest of the actors performed accordingly.

Technical side:

Director KS Ravikumar should have put more focus on the story, than on Balayya, to make it more appealing to wide range of audience. Music director Chiranthan Bhatt’s music is above par, excluding a couple of songs. Though the BGM is impressive, its loudness distracts the audience at times. The choreography is marvellous and the songs are shot extravagantly. The cinematography of Ram Prasad is decent. The scenes are shot with a realistic approach. There is a lot of scope for improvement in the editing department. The film feels slight draggy in bits and parts. Production values are very good.

This is the first time Trivikram Srinivas failed both as a director and writer. The director was morally down with fans and critics bashing him for spineless content and senseless screenplay. But one has to remember the fact that, one hit or flop will never be a measure of a technician’s mettle. The same is the case with Trivikram Srinivas.

It is impossible for Virat Kohli to score a century every match, the same way is filmmaking. It is impossible to direct a hit or a super hit movie every time. Even a great director like Raghavendra Rao came up with a film like Rudranethra, an utter flop movie in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s career.

Jr. NTR who is an example of self-motivation, reportedly called the Ace director, Trivikram Srinivas, and asked him to put aside the result of Agnyaathavaasi aside. He advised him to take a short break, and start concentrating on the upcoming movie with a fresh mind. This clearly proves that rumours that are casting clouds on NTR – Trivikram movie are rubbish and false.

Jagan who is on ‘Mission Padayatra’ had to literally request Gottipati Bharath, son of former MLA Narasayya, to contest from Parchur constituency, Prakasam district. Not only did the YSRCP supremo request, but he also assured ‘financial assistance’ for election campaigning. 

Shockingly, Bharath who contested the 2014 elections from the same constituency, as YSRCP candidate, suffered defeat. When Jagan asked him to contest, Bharath reportedly rejected the proposal, citing financial reasons.

Though Bharath is not a famous or reputed leader, the young gun managed to bring YSRCP supremo to ground, and ensured that he receives financial assistance. On a whole, the whole episode is being described as ‘rise of new politics’ by political pundits.

Tollywood has seen great multi starrer movies like Gundamma Katha, Mayabazaar and many classics in the past. In recent times, it is rare to see star heroes releasing more than one film, and expecting a multi starrer in present times is nothing short of making yourself the butt of jokes. But films like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Gopala Gopala proved everyone wrong. These films proved that where there is a will, there is away. Even superstar Mahesh Babu stated that he is open to multi starrer movies.

It is known that Venkatesh would be seen in a cameo role in the Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyaathavaasi. The audience assumed the same after they saw, ‘special thanks to Victory Venkatesh’ in the titles. Shockingly, Venkatesh was nowhere to be a scene in the entire film. This greatly disappointed the fans, who wanted to witness the two stars sharing the screen once again, after Gopala Gopala.

The director reportedly wanted to add the scenes on Pongal, in a move to attract the audience. The makers are hoping that Pawan Kalyan – Venkatesh combination scenes might act as a saviour for the next one week.

Haarika and Hassine Creations, the production house of the film, has posted the video ‘Victory Venkatesh Cameo Making’ on Facebook. Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh can be seen sitting beside each other and dubbing for the movie, with laughter and hilarious moments between them.

Pawan Kalyan fans who are still recovering-mode from the catastrophic result of ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ has something to cheer about. Their demi-god, Power Star Pawan Kalyan will be soon seen on the silver screen once again.

Many assumed that ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ would be the last film of Pawan Kalyan after the latter said, he is willing to devote himself to politics completely. The fans were dismayed and disrupted by that news.This is also one of the prime reason, why fans had sky-high expectations on Agnyaathavaasi.

The reported film is titled as ‘Charithra’ and is likely going to have a political backdrop. The film’s title is creating goosebumps among the fans, and Telugu audience. It is the same film that, Pawan Kalyan signed a film with producer and writer AM Ratnam a few months ago.

The Pooja ceremony was also completed. The film will be a remake of the Tamil film ‘Vedalam’ which had Ajith playing the lead role. Due to Agnyaathavaasi, the film has been stalled for some time. The movie’s regular shooting will be restarted from February 2nd week. The title ‘Charithra’ sports with a tagline ‘Silence is his weapon’. The film’s (fan-made) poster went viral and is creating a sensation in the social media.

Few film analysts termed this as a ‘gimmick’ to downplay the tragic end met by Agnyaathavaasi which released on January 10th, 2018.

‘Agnyaathavaasi’ movie released with the lone intention of giving Pawan Kalyan fans a memorable hit. As expected, Pawan Kalyan’s craze and fan following worked in generating record premier collections for the movie. The movie grossed a whopping $1.51M (premiers) at the US box office. The film’s theatrical rights fetched Rs. 95 crores in Telugu states alone, and Rs. 11 crores in Karnataka.

On release, the movie received mixed to poor reviews. Though Pawan’s acting was appreciated, critics took a different note when it came to the director. The distributors anticipated that Agnyaathavaasi will keep the cash registers ringing for over a week. But the movie turned out to be a disaster in terms of reviews.

Following this, many distributors are likely to face loss in crores. Realizing this, Power Star Pawan Kalyan has come forward to partially bear the losses by returning a major chunk of his revenue. If reports are to believed, Pawan Kalyan came forward to return Rs. 15 crores from his remuneration, taken for the film. Similarly, director Trivikram Srinivas will be returning Rs. 10 crores, and the producer Radha Krishna will be bearing up to Rs. 15 crores. In total, an amount of Rs. 45 crores will be channeled to distributors who are currently facing loses. Though this doesn’t cover the complete losses, it will at least keep them afloat.
