Fadnavis was Maharashtra CM for 80 hours to divert Rs 40,000 crore central funds: Anantkumar Hedge

0

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anantkumar Hedge on Monday claimed that Devendra Fadnavis became Maharashtra chief minister for just 80 hours to divert Rs 40,000 crore funds back to Centre, news agency ANI reported.

Hedge, member of Parliament from Uttara Kannada constituency in Karnataka, is known for making controversial comments. He said everyone is asking why BJP formed a government in Maharashtra without the numbers, he then provided and explanation.

“A CM has access to around Rs 40,000 crore from Centre. He [Devendra Fadnavis] knew if Congress, Nationalist Congress Party [NCP] and Shiv Sena government comes to power it would misuse funds meant for development. So it was decided that there should be a drama. Fadnavis became CM and in 15 hours he moved Rs 40,000 crore back to Centre,” Hedge was quoted as saying by ANI.

In a surprise move, Fadnavis was sworn-in as Maharashtra CM on Saturday morning after support from a splinter group of NCP led by Ajit Pawar. The government lasted for only 80 hours with both Pawar and Fadnavis resigning on Tuesday a day before a Supreme Court-ordered trust vote. Pawar has since returned to the NCP fold.

After Fadnavis’ resignation, the three-party alliance of Sena, NCP, and Congress, known as Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA), staked claim to form a government in the state.

Sena president Uddhav Thackeray took oath as chief minister at Mumbai’s iconic Shivaji Park on Thursday. Thackeray-led MVA passed the floor test in the assembly on Saturday with the support of 169 MLAs. The halfway mark in the assembly is 299-member Maharashtra assembly is 145.

In his speech in the assembly on Sunday, Thackeray had targeted Fadnavis for forming a government without the numbers to clear a floor test. Thackeray assured the House that he “will not do anything at midnight”.

Four-time Congress MLA Nana Patole was elected unopposed as the speaker after BJP withdrew candidate its candidate.

Root double Hundred gives England marginal stronghold

0

Joe Root’s third Test double, following Ollie Pope’s maiden Test fifty, gave England a healthy 101-run lead before they folded for 476 in their first innings at the stroke of Tea on Day 4 of the series-deciding second Test in Hamilton.

It turned out to be a rewarding session for the New Zealand bowlers, primarily since the Englishmen decided to step on the accelerator once the overnight pair had reached their respective landmarks. Neil Wagner was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts for he snaffled four of the five remaining English wickets to complete his second fifer of the series and ninth overall in Tests.

Building on their resilient unbeaten partnership of 117 at Lunch, after a very disciplined batting show in the morning session, Pope reached his fifty off 165 deliveries in the fourth over after the break. But it wasn’t until his captain’s milestone that the duo decided to switch gears. Unlike the other two centurions in this game, Root converted his hundred into a double – his third in Test cricket – as he risked a streaky single with the potential to run Pope out. An over later, he walked down the track and smacked one straight over mid-off for his first six, off Matt Henry – a shot that all but signaled the change of intent from the English camp.

Pope took the cue little too seriously and sacrificed what could have been his maiden Test hundred for the team’s cause when he went after a short-pitched delivery from Neil Wagner and ending up top-edging it to Jeet Raval at deep square leg on 75, just after England went past the 450-run mark. Three balls later, Root decided to up the ante and danced down the track to take on Santner, only to hole out straight to a waiting-in-position deep cover that brought curtains on his magnificent and yet longest Test innings on 226. England’s lead stood at 83 when their captain walked off to a standing ovation from the sparse Monday crowd.

New Zealand and Wagner persisted with attacking tactics in their bid to speed up the declaration and were rewarded soon enough. Wagner tempted Woakes into an expansive drive with a length ball outside off, and the English all-rounder went chasing, offering a regulation catch to the keeper even before he could open his account.

Jofra Archer decided to join the fun early as he smoked the best Kiwi bowler on the day over long-on and hit it straight out of the park, literally. However, Wagner sought his revenge right at the next delivery with a slower ball. Archer failed to read it but swung hard, only to drag an inside edge onto his stumps. Two balls later, Wagner dished out another knuckleball for Stuart Broad who also lost his off-stump, departing for a three-ball duck as the bowler registered his second fifer in as many Tests.

England lost their last five wickets for just 21 runs but a 101-run lead would give them a fair bit of advantage going into the second innings.

Brief scores: England 476 (Joe Root 226, Rory Burns 101, Ollie Pope 75; Neil Wagner 5-124) lead New Zealand 375, by 101 runs.

Apple could bundle AirPods with its 2020 iPhones: Report

0

Apple’s 2020 iPhones are expected to come with major upgrades in terms of design, specifications, and features. A new report now suggests Apple could bundle its AirPods in the box with the 2020 iPhones.
This report comes from DigiTimes (via MacRumors) which states that “smartphone vendors including Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi are looking to bundle their new models with TWS earbuds next year.”

TWS (truly wireless stereo) refers to wireless earbuds like the Apple AirPods and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. If this report is to be believed, Apple would be replacing its wired earphones with the wireless AirPods for its 2020 iPhone lineup.

Apple recently launched its most expensive AirPods, the AirPods Pro which retails at Rs 24,900 in India. The company also has two generations of AirPods available. Apple bundling AirPods with its iPhones would naturally increase the price of iPhones which already start at $999. This would be a rather big move for Apple to bundle its expensive AirPods with its iPhones.

Although Apple’s iPhone launch is still months away, there have been reports on the new devices already. Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones in 2020 with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro featuring 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch OLED displays respectively. A recent report also confirmed Samsung Display will be the supplier for Apple’s 2020 iPhone OLED panels. The expected iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max is also said to offer up to 6GB of RAM.

Apple is also highly expected to launch the second-generation iPhone SE in March 2020. Several reports including predictions by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo point out to iPhone SE 2 coming soon. iPhone SE 2 is said to feature an iPhone 8-like design but pack specifications like the A13 chipset which powers the iPhone 11 series.

David Warner’s magical triple Hundred floors Pakistan

0

Since then Matthew Hayden has gone past the mark to compose the highest individual score by an Australian in Tests. Mark Taylor also famously declared the innings when he was on 334 versus Pakistan in 1998. Two more decades later, David Warner explored every nook and cranny of the picturesque Adelaide Oval ground to surpass Bradman’s coveted landmark against a beleaguered Pakistan side in the pink-ball Test. Warner also had the chance of breaking Brian Lara’s long-standing record, but Tim Paine decided to declare with a massive score of 589 for 3. At the dinner break, the visitors were 3/1, still trailing by a substantial 586.

The second session though would be all about Warner’s heroics. The enterprising batsman began the session on 261 and continued to ruthlessly dismantle the visiting side’s hapless attack. He drove Shaheen Afridi down the ground to signal his intent and the swept Yasir Shah to the boundary boards. Despite losing Steven Smith at the other end, Warner was unstoppable.

Warner didn’t show any nerves when he neared the glittering milestone. Eventually, he completed the landmark by clubbing a pull off Mohammad Abbas. He celebrated the triple century with Imran Tahir-like run and punched the air in sheer delight. Once he reached the mark, he went into top gear, launching Abbas for a four and six. When he went past Bradman’s 334, he looked set to cross Lara’s record, but Paine decided he had seen enough and opted to declare. Rain is forecast for tomorrow and that could have played a part in the decision. Mitchell Starc then dismissed Imam-ul-Haq to make it a perfect session for the hosts.

Earlier, Warner and his batting partner Marnus Labuschagne made their intentions clear at the start of the day by taking the aggressive route. Yasir Shah, the legspinner, came under severe punishment as the duo unleashed a string of shots – lofts, cuts and pulls. With runs coming thick and fast, Pakistan looked down and out and was in search of a spark of inspiration. At that stage, Afridi provided the breakthrough by castling Labuschagne with the in-seamer, bringing to an end the massive stand of 361. Just that Steven Smith joined hands with Warner to share another sizeable partnership.

Warner soon reached his double ton and continued to flay Pakistan’s clueless attack. He even showed swagger by nonchalantly ramping Muhammad Musa over the slip cordon. However, the Test debutant could have dismissed Warner, when he tempted the southpaw to slice at a fuller delivery to gully but paid the price for overstepping. Ecstasy followed by more agony. Incidentally, Musa has struggled with the problem of overstepping through the course of the Test. Warner and Smith then paddled through the good spell from Musa to take the side to the break.

The plight of Pakistan’s side can be capsulized by the point that Australia scored at almost five runs per over. Only Afridi was among the wickets. Meanwhile, Yasir, the main spinner, went for more than six runs per over and ended up with sorry figures of none for 197 from 32 overs.

Brief scores: Australia 589/3 decl. (David Warner 335*, Marnus Labuschagne 162; Shaheen Afridi 3-88) lead Pakistan 3/1 (Mitchell Starc 1-0) by 586 runs.

Jack Leach hospitalised with gastroenteritis

0

England spinner Jack Leach has been hospitalized with a bout of gastroenteritis during the second day of the Test against New Zealand in Hamilton.

Leach was left out of the playing XI but began to feel unwell at the end of the first session of play on Saturday (November 30). England’s medical staff decided to take Leach to hospital and it is expected that he will remain there overnight.

“It’s quite worrying news but we’ve got great medical staff to look after him,” said England bowler Stuart Broad.

Leach recorded figures of 2-153 in England’s innings defeat in the first Test at Bay Oval last week. He was left out of the second Test in favor of Chris Woakes as the tourists selected an all-out pace attack at Seddon Park.

Karvy keep growing Sebi refuses any interim relief to Karvy Stock Broking Ltd

0

Sebi said considering the preliminary findings on the enormity of violations, it would not be prudent to allow Karvy the usage of PoA
SAT on Friday had directed Sebi to decide on whether it can give any interim relief to Karvy by Monday

Mumbai: Hours after the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) directed markets regulator to examine Karvy Stock Broking Ltd (KSBL) request on limited use of Power of Attorney or PoA, Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) rejected an interim relief.

In a late-night Friday order, a whole-time member of Sebi said considering the preliminary findings on the enormity of violations, it would not be prudent to allow Karvy the usage of PoA.

SAT on Friday had directed Sebi to decide on whether it can give any interim relief to Karvy by Monday that would enable it to settle client trades.

The matter pertains to a 22 November order by Sebi that had barred Karvy from using power of attorney after the broker allegedly transferred clients’ money for other purposes and indulged in trade not authorized by them. The misuse is so far estimated at ₹2000 crore. A power of attorney in trading is given by clients to a broking firm to trade on their behalf. This gives the broking firm control over the clients’ securities—to move them freely in and out of the clients’ or investors’ demat account.

Following these restrictions, Karvy made representations to Sebi to allow it to use the PoA as in its absence it was unable to settle trades of clients and suffered losses of ₹8 crore in the past one week. Subsequently, it moved SAT on Thursday to request Sebi to act on its representation.

In its Friday order while refusing an interim relief, Sebi said in addition to misutilisation of client funds, Karvy continued to create additional pledges on client securities even after Sebi norms preventing brokerage firms from doing so kicked in from 1 October.

Karvy had another undisclosed Demat account which it had used to transfer ₹2300 crore worth of 95000 clients’ securities, this act was never authorized by investors, Sebi noted.

On the point of inability to clear trades in absence of a PoA, Sebi said clients can use ‘Delivery Instruction Slip’ or DIS and even electronic DIS.

Investors can use these slips to get delivery of securities in their Demat accounts from pool accounts or depositories. Electronic DIS also removes the need for physical delivery slips. Some brokerage firms are already using the electronic DIS for transfer of securities to client Demat accounts.

England Loose early Wickets after New Zealand posting 375

0

If the bowlers were made to toil for their wickets, England’s tough luck continued with the bat in hand too as they finished Day 2 of the Hamilton Test with 39 for 2, still trailing New Zealand by 336 runs. BJ Watling and debutant Daryl Mitchell’s defiant fifties formed the bedrock of New Zealand’s 375, following Tom Latham’s Day 1 century, that put the hosts in a commanding position on a rain-free second day of the series decider.

Despite a bit of a cloud cover at the start, the morning wasn’t as gloomy for England though. After Jofra Archer completed his pending over from last evening and Latham added one more to his boundary count with a gorgeous on-drive, Stuart Broad got a length ball to nip back in from around the wicket angle to the left-hander and knocked back the off-stump as the batsman shouldered arms.

England would have had another success within the next 15 minutes – and Sam Curran his first – had the edge from new batsman Watling not fallen just an inch short of England’s new keeper Ollie Pope. But, after a fruitless day yesterday, Curran hit the deck harder on the second morning and opened his account with a well-directed bouncer at Henry Nicholls who holed out straight to Broad at backward square leg.

The following session and a half was a classic example of how to survive in Test match cricket. England toned down the aggression, surprisingly, and Watling dropped anchor in his typical fashion. Cautious at the start, debutant Mitchell grew in confidence with every ball he faced and gave Watling solid company as the pair kept England at bay for the rest of the morning, taking their team to 248 for 5 at Lunch.

Joe Root even managed to get the ball changed, and then brought back on Ben Stokes despite his knee injury scare on an opening day, but they couldn’t breach New Zealand’s, and Watling’s, defenses. The tourists took the new ball as soon as it was made available and brought Archer back into the attack. Broad briefly rekindled some hopes with a close LBW shout against Mitchell but neither did England have a review left to challenge the not-out call and nor was it going to hit the stumps in hindsight.

England let all their pacers except Stokes have a crack at the new ball but to no avail
Frustrated and desperate in equal measure, England – more like Stokes and Archer – resorted to the short-ball ploy with a crowded leg-side field. But nothing that they did in the first hour after Lunch would get them a breakthrough as Watling and Mitchell – in no hurry whatsoever to step on the accelerator – continued their slow and steady collection of runs. By the drinks break, the pair had added only 25 runs to the team’s tally.

Mitchell continued to impress in his very first Test innings with some glorious drives. And as the run-scoring improved in the hour after drinks, he outscored his senior partner in registering their respective half-centuries as he brought up his maiden one with a pull to deep midwicket off another one of Stokes’s short balls. Watling, though, matched up in no time, taking New Zealand past 300 with his boundary shot to his fifty.

Broad then brought all his experience the fore to give England the much-needed lift off by taking out both the half-centurions on either side of the session break. Watling fell at the stroke of Tea, and against the run of play. Broad’s short ball around off caught him completely off-guard and, in his bid to fend it away, Watling popped a sitter to Rory Burns at gully that bought curtains on his gritty, 192-ball effort.

Shortly after Tea, Broad rushed Mitchell into his pull shot who ended up offering a simple catch to Archer at fine leg and fell well short of what could have been a century in his first Test innings.

Broad thought he’d got his fifth too when he went up in a loud LBW appeal against Mitchell Santner. And yet again, on evidence from replays, England would have wasted a review if they had one left.
Southee made his intentions clear from the onset, going at a run a ball, or over until Chris Woakes cut short his fun and had him caught behind on 18, that included three boundary hits, soon after New Zealand went past 350.

Santner took it upon himself to up the ante and hit Archer for two boundaries in an over and then two sixes on either side of the Southee dismissal. Archer though had his revenge when he lured Santner into a pull and had him top-edging to Woakes at deep square leg. Neil Wagner bagged a golden duck as New Zealand folded for 375 in their first innings, losing their second half for just 60 runs.

However, New Zealand managed to turn the tables on England quickly with two early wickets in the final hour of play. Southee trapped Dominic Sibley plumb LBW on just four and Matt Henry had Joe Denly caught behind in a stunning diving effort from the ‘keeper.

Rory Burns did enjoy his fair share of luck though, getting two lives – dropped on 10 by Ross Tayor who shelled a sitter in slips and then on 19, when Jeet Raval at midwicket spilled a tough chance despite putting in a dive to his left. He managed to survive the day – unbeaten on 24 – with skipper Root (6 not out) for company.

Brief scores: England 39/2 (Rory Burns 24*; Matt Henry 1-10, Tim Southee 1-24) trail New Zealand 375 (Tom Latham 105, Daryl Mitchell 73, BJ Watling 55, Ross Taylor 53; Stuart Broad 4-73, Chris Woakes 3-83) by 336 runs.

TEA: David Warner’s double leaves Pakistan in disarray

0

David Warner, with an unbeaten 261 – his highest Test score, took Pakistan’s attack to the cleaners as Australia bestrode the opposition in the first session of Day 2 of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide. The home side was in an impregnable position at Tea, ending up with 475 for 2.

Warner and his batting partner Marnus Labuschagne had made their intentions clear at the start of the day by taking the aggressive route against Yasir Shah. The legspinner came under severe punishment as the duo unleashed a string of shots – lofts, cuts and pulls. With runs coming thick and fast, Pakistan looked down and out and was in search of a spark of inspiration. Incidentally, Musa has struggled with the problem of overstepping through the course of the Test.

Warner and Smith then paddled through the good spell from Musa to take the side to the break. The plight of Pakistan’s side can be capsulized by the point that 173 runs were scored in the session in just 35 overs. Only Afridi has been among the wickets so far. Meanwhile, Yasir, the main spinner, has gone for more than six runs per over. The visitors would hope to at least pick up a few wickets in the post-Tea session.

Brief scores: Australia 475/2 (David Warner 261*, Marnus Labuschagne 162*; Shaheen Afridi 2-75) v Pakistan.

Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut claims support of 170 MLAs

0

Ahead of Saturday’s floor test for the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government of the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut claimed that the alliance has the support of 170 plus MLAs.

“Majority day. 170+++++. Ther is no one yet who can defeat us,” he tweeted in Hindi early morning.
The Shiv Sena has 56 members in the 288-member House. The Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) has 54 members while Congress has 44 lawmakers. The alliance’s strength at 154 is comfortably above the minimum requirement of 145 or a simple majority.

Raut did not say who were the other members supporting the coalition. The Sena’s former ally BJP is the largest party in the House with 105 members.

The floor test will be held in the afternoon at the special session two-day sitting of the legislative assembly. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari had asked Thackeray to prove majority by December 3.
Rajya Sabha MP Raut, who has been a key player in the installation of the Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra, caused a flutter in Goa on Friday claiming that the Sena will now focus on Goa and other states.

NCP MLA Dilip Walse Patil who was appointed pro tem speaker of the Assembly on Friday will oversee the floor test. He displaces BJP MLA Kalidas Kolambkar who was beginning this week elected to this job. Patil is a former speaker of the Assembly.

Telangana HC directs Ts govt to fill vacancies in crucial posts by dec 20

0

The Telangana government has come under fire from the state High Court for still having not yet filled vacancies in crucial posts. The court has now given the government a deadline of December 20 to fill the various positions which have been empty for several months and in some cases several years now.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice A Abhishek Reddy directed the government to rectify the discrepancy while reading a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by A Venkanna, a social activist.

According to reports, the bench wondered how the state government intends to root out corruption and violation of rights, without instilling an individual to some of these crucial positions.

The PIL filed by Venkanna had pointed out that the state had failed to appoint a Lokayukta, a Upa-Lokayukta and a new chairperson for the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC).

This is not the first time that the state government has been called out for this exact reason. In August this year, Venkanna, an activist who hails from Khammam, filed the PIL after taking account of the fact that thousands of cases remain pending in the Lokayukta and the SHRC, as a result of the state government’s apathy in taking steps to fill the vacant posts.

The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) for instance, has not been functional for almost two years now while the State Women’s Commission has not had a chairperson for over a year.

An RTI response to TNM from the Public Information Officer of the Lokayukta in July showed that 2,767 complaints had been received since December 15, 2017, while the total number of complaints pending with the institution was a staggering 5,283.

Arjun Suravaram Movie (2019) Super heroism mars promising story

In the news constantly, the menace of fake certificates wreaking havoc in the lives of students and young professionals is surely a great one to take up as a plotline. Nikhil Siddharth, who has awaited this film’s release for more than six months (since it got certified in May last) is a journalist on a mission: to expose wrongdoings and maintain an ideal, professional working style in whatever he takes up.

Disaster strikes when he is ensnared in a duplicate certificate racket, which dents his credibility and denies him his dream job with the BBC, who show him the door owing to his doubtful academic qualifications. No wonder, it becomes a one-man mission as he goes about bashing his way through, in a bid to unearth the truth, all along the 149-minute run time of the movie.

The Tamil original, which also was long in the making before it got released and earned a decent turnover ultimately, stood out because of the vulnerable status of the hero ( Atharva) who is constantly edged out by a chilling, menacing villain who matches him step for step. Tarun Arora is retained from the original to play the bad guy and he replays the role once again, to limited impact.

This is because the twists and turns, which made the viewers sit up and await the unfolding of events in the original somehow fails miserably in the Telugu version, which is reduced to being a superhero venture, with a beefed-up hero bashing the bad guys over and over. Somehow the suspenseful undertone which one saw in ‘Kanithan’ is missing in ‘Arjun Suravaram’ which remains a non-stop slam-bang, actioner without an emotional connect. Lavanya Tripathi resurfaces like the hero after a break and she too has nothing much to do, despite being the daughter of the channel owner where her beau is breaking new stories. Ultimately, it all ends up as a run-of-the-mill potboiler which underexploited the potential the story had, adding no value to the team which came up with it in the first place.

Victoria bring in concussion sub after Finch suffers blow to head

0

Victoria had to opt for a concussion substitute after Aaron Finch, Australia’s limited-overs skipper, suffered a blow to his head during the Sheffield Shield encounter against New South Wales. Finch has been ruled out of the remainder of the match, with Victoria bringing in Travis Dean as his replacement.

Finch, who was fielding at short leg, was struck on his helmet when Steve O’Keefe played a flick off James Pattinson during the first session on Day 2 of the match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Following the incident, Finch was assessed on the ground immediately and continued fielding after he was cleared by doctor Trevor James. However, as per an update from Cricket Victoria, the 33-year-old “experienced delayed concussion symptoms during the lunch break”.

Dean had to cut short his innings at Windy Hill in Melbourne’s north-west, where he was batting for his Premier Cricket side Footscray, to head to the MCG as Finch’s replacement for the rest of the game.

Chandimal named in Sri Lanka’s full-strength squad for Pakistan Tests

0

Sri Lanka has named a full-strength squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Pakistan, which will be the first Test series to be hosted in Pakistan in over a decade.

Dinesh Chandimal, who was part of the Sri Lanka squad during the Test series against New Zealand but did not get to play a game, has been retained for the Pakistan series. Kasun Rajitha is the only new inclusion in the squad which has no place for Akila Dananjaya who, in September, was suspended from bowling in international cricket for 12 months due to an illegal action.

The last time Pakistan played a Test at home was in March 2009 against Sri Lanka – the series that was marred by the terrorist attack on the visitors’ team bus. Since then, international cricket has been slowly returning to Pakistan, with Sri Lanka being among the teams who visited the country recently.

However, it was a second-string Sri Lanka team that toured Pakistan in September-October this year for the limited-overs series.

Sri Lanka’s cricket board had a meeting with the players before the ODI and T20I series in Pakistan, apprising them of the security situation in Pakistan. The players were reportedly given a free hand in deciding whether they wanted to travel with the side or not, and several high-profile players – including Mathews, Chandimal, Karunaratne, and Lakmal – backed out of the limited-overs assignment.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Government (Public Affairs), wrote to the Regional Officer, at the Regional Board of Film Certification in Hyderabad.

The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday sought that the title of director Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu (Kadapa Reddys in the Kamma kingdom), be changed.

In a letter to the Regional Officer, at the Regional Board of Film Certification in Hyderabad, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Government (Public Affairs), said that the movie was scheduled to be released on November 29.

“The title and the poster suggests that there is a confrontation between two castes, and two trailers of the said film were released earlier to build up tempo and the teasers have raised much commotion,” Ramakrishna Reddy wrote.

“We request you to direct the concerned production house to change the title as it has caste-based overtones and civil society with social responsibility cannot accept such a title that has a direct reference to two castes,” he added.

the storyline, content and narrative, we firmly believe that such a title is not acceptable and it should be changed in the better interest of the society.”

A copy of the letter was also marked to the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai and to the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma told reporters that if the censor board had a problem with the title, he was willing to change it to Amma rajyamlo Kadapa biddalu (Kadapa sons in the mother’s kingdom).

In the recently released trailer of KRKR, Malayalam actor Ajmal Amir plays the role of Jagan Mohan Reddy. RGV has managed to cast many lookalikes of the who’s who of Andhra politics, including Praja Shanti Party’s leader KA Paul, Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.

Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu (KRKR) is RGV’s next film after Lakshmi’s NTR, which released amid many controversies in both the Telugu states. The film explored NTR’s relationship with his second wife Lakshmi Parvathy and also portrayed ex-Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu in a negative light.

Australia openers David Warner and Joe Burns engaged themselves in a game of rock paper scissors before going out in the middle to bat on the first day of the second Test against Pakistan on Friday. Cricket.com.au shared the video of David Warner and Joe Burns playing the game while waiting for the play to start after rain.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat in the second and final Test, a day-night match, against Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval. After the Anthems, a drizzle made its appearance and caused a bit of delay in the start of the match. This was the time when David Warner and Joe Burns were caught playing the hand game.

Australia leads the two-Test series 1-0 as they thrashed the visitors by an innings and five runs in Brisbane.

For the pink ball Test, the hosts named an unchanged eleven with eyes on a 14th consecutive win against Pakistan in Australia.

“The wicket looks really good. There might be a bit of rain around and it will be interesting to see how the pink ball handles it with the wet outfield,” Australia captain Tim Paine said at the toss.

Pakistan, on the other hand, recalled fast bowler Mohammad Abbas in place of Imran Khan. Nineteen-year-old fast bowler Muhammad Musa made his debut as he replaced 16-year-old pace sensation Naseem Shah in the playing eleven.

Batsman Imam-ul-Haq replaced Haris Sohail in the team and will open the innings alongside Shan Masood.

“I would have bowled first considering the conditions. The wicket looks good but with the rain around, we thought we should bowl first,” Pakistan captain Azhar Ali said at the toss.

Australia has won all five day-night Test matches that they have played so far. Three of those victories have come in Adelaide.
