TDP leader and Anantapur MP, JC Diwakar Reddy sensational comments on BJP have become a hot topic in political circles. The MP expressed displeasure and discontentment over the proposed 2018 – 2019 Budget by Central Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. According to JC Diwakar Reddy, the Centre has completely shown an iron hand towards the state of Andhra Pradesh. He questioned the audacity of the Centre, which claimed that it has done needful to AP in this year’s budget.

‘What happened to the promises made by BJP and Modi in before the 2014 elections? Did BJP give any special package to the state? Definitely not. The Centre just extended its help for namesake as of now. Until and unless the Centre sanctions thousands and lakhs of crores, there is absolutely nothing for AP to benefit from’, said JC.

Speaking in a special interview to a new channel, JC Diwakar Reddy came up with an interesting analysis of the budget. Instead out directly telling TDP to exit, they are forcing us to move out of the alliance. This budget doesn’t do any good to the trouble-ridden state of AP. Chandrababu Naidu has been immensely patient all this while, expressed JC.

The 2018 – 2019 Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley saw a steep increase in salaries to the President and Vice President of India. With President’s salary hiked by 333%, the President would receive Rs. 5 lakhs, instead of the current Rs. 1.5 Lakh from hereon. Similarly, the salary of Vice President will jump to Rs. 4.5 Lakhs from Rs. 1.25 lakhs currently. Besides these, the MPs salary will also be revised once in every five years, in relation to the inflation.

The state governors will be paid Rs. 3.5 Lakhs from here onwards. At a time when the citizens of the nation are suffering from poverty, the MPs are enjoying the perks from the Centre.

Besides the Rs. 50,000 basic pay the MPs receive monthly, Rs.3 lakhs (per month) end as expenditure on every MP on an average.

Finally, the Union Budget 2018-2019 has been introduced by the Finance minister Arun Jaitley today in the morning. The budget has been formulated by the mission to strengthen the sectors of Infrastructure, employment, Agriculture, Rural development, health, and education. Let us have a look at some of the key points of the budget today.

> The Finance Minister announced that the government will allocate 14.3 trillion rupees for the welfare of rural employment. It also includes the creating 3,71,000 km roads and 5.8 million rural homes.

> When it comes to the agriculture sector, 86% of the Indian farmers are poor and marginal. The government has taken the initiative to develop and upgrade the existing 22000 rural haats to Gramin Agricultural Markets. These markets are directly linked to e-Nam and the farmers have the facility to make a direct sale to consumers and bulk purchasers.

> 2000 Crore rupees has been allocated for developing and upgrading Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure in 22000 GrAMs and 585 APMs.

> Organic farming FPO’s and VPO’s along with women self-help groups will be encouraged to take up organic agriculture in clusters under National Rural Livelihood Programme.

> “Operation Greens” has been introduced to address the fluctuation in prices of Tomato, Onion, Potato which will be produced throughout the year for the benefit of farmers and consumers. A sum of 500 Crores has been allocated to this. The institutional credit for Agriculture sector this year is 11 lakh Crore rupees which are relatively high when compared to the previous budgets.

> The Income Tax and slab rates have been kept unchanged. However, it gave relief to tax paying individuals by giving an allowance of 40000 rupees under the label of transport and medical. It also made changes in IT deduction limit on health insurance premium, medical expenditures and on fixed deposits incurred by senior citizens.

> 4% Health and education cess was proposed by the Finance Minister in-order to take care of health and educational needs of poor and rural families.

> Emoluments will be revised for the president to 5 lakh rupees, 4 lakh for vice-president and 3-5 lakh for governor per month.

> The total revenue expenditure of the government is 21.57 lakh crore.

> 99 cities have been selected under the Smart City programme with an outlay of 2.09 lakh crore.

> The Railway capital expenditure for the year 2018-2019 is Rs1,48,528 crore. 600 major railway stations have been taken up for redevelopment. All the stations with more than 25000 footfalls will have escalators.

> A sum of 60 crores has been allocated for DRI( Disaster Resilient Infrastructure). And a huge sum of 3073 crores has been allocated for Digital India Programme which is nearly double the amount when compared to previous one.

> The government has allocated 7148 crores for the textile sector> The existing district hospitals will be upgraded and another 24 new government medical colleges will be set up in the country.

> The government has allocated a total sum of 56,619 crores for scheduled castes and 39,135 crores for scheduled tribes in this budget.

> The LPG connection scheme has been expanded to eight crore households this year.

Its 1st of February and the most awaited Union Budget of the year 2018 has been released by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. More than any state, the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana pinned many hopes on this budget for their development. Let us see what is in store for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Post the bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh state which became a state without a permanent capital nearly waited more than four years for central aid. They expected Special Category Status, financial aid to the new capital in construction Amaravati, more funds to the National project of Polavaram etc. also the most wanted Vishaka Separate Railway Zone was also in the wishlist of Andraites. YS Jagan, who is busy making false promises, once again spit venom on CM Chandrababu Naidu. Addressing a public gathering in Sarvepalli constituency, Podalakur (Nellore district), YS Jagan said that AP has been engulfed by Chandra Grahanam for the past four years.

The YSRCP Supremo further went on to make wild allegations on Babu. ‘Chandrababu made Andhra Pradesh into a debt-ridden state and corrupted state. In fact, Chandrababu is so corrupted that, he lives on an illegal premise. Instead of being present at the Republic Day celebrations in the state in the CM Honor, Babu was nowhere to be seen. His wife had to hoist the flag.

While Chandrababu is busy with his foreign tours, his brother-in-law Balakrishna is busy sitting in the CM’s seat. Such is the pathetic situation in the state politics. In addition to this, Tantric Poojas are being performed in temples, instead of holy and sacred rituals, said Jagan.

YS Jagan is leaving no stone unturned to come into power this time. The 2019 AP Assembly elections will not be only a litmus test to YS Jagan, but also puts the existence of YSRCP at stake. Only time will tell, whether YS Jagan will flourish or vanish!

Indian cricket, Ambati Rayudu has been handed over a ban of 2 matches in the ongoing Sayyad Ali T20 Trophy. The ban comes after BCCI reviewed the report submitted by infield umpires and the third umpire. It was during the match between Karnataka and Hyderabad the incident took place.

Karnataka which batted first, score 203 runs in their 20 overs. During Karnataka’s innings, Hyderabad fielder touched the boundary line while stopping the ball. Unaware of this, the infield umpires awarded two runs. In fact, after their innings, Karnataka captain, Vinay Kumar went up to the TV umpire to talk about the incident. After his explanation, 2 runs were added, taking Karnataka’s total to 205.

Hyderabad managed to score 203 runs in the 20 overs. Hyderabad Team captain, Ambati Rayudu appealed the umpires to declare the match as a tie, and call for a super over. He got into a heated argument with the umpires. After infield umpires rejected his proposal, Hyderabad players chose not to leave the ground. They were led by Ambati Rayudu. After the high drama, the players left the field.

Consequently, the Andhra and Kerala match became a 13-over a-side-match, instead of 20 overs. Upon reviewing the report submitted by the match officials, the BCCI handed Ambati Rayudu 2 matches ban.

If Academy Awards jury can consider politicians for the prestigious awards, sure, YSRCP Chief YS Jagan can bag the best comedian award. The YSRCP Supremo, YS Jagan has been announcing sops to lure the voters. In his latest speech, during his Padayatra, Jagan promised that he would clear all the debts of AP Citizens if he comes to power. Neglecting the fact whether there is no way Jagan could live up to his promise.

Speaking at the roadshow, Jagan announced that, he would in fact hand over the money to the people, instead of paying to the banks. In such case, the whole idea of debt clearance will be collapsed. Once an individual receives the funds, he/she will be using for their own personal purpose.

Moreover, there is no way that the Central government (be it NDA/UPA) will ever accept this proposal. There is no way people would ever believe Jagan’s wild promise. Even if they did believe him, and take more surplus loans, they will be the sore losers at the end of the day.

The only way Jagan could clear all the debts of AP citizens is by bringing his hidden/black money into the public domain.

Former West Indian pacer, Michael Holding made stark comments on Indian captain Virat Kohli. Speaking at a press meet, Holding went on to say, Kohli is unlike Sachin. The debate over the One Nation One Election scheme is being strongly heard in the political circles. Be it the lack of confidence, or uprising anti-Modi wave, the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is keen with the One Nation One Election plan. Even the President, Ram Nath Kovind pronounced the same during his speech on the first day of the Budget session.

PM Modi expressed that, conducting elections for every 4-6 months in different states is very costly and hectic. The cost of conducting Lok Sabha and State Assembly election is around Rs. 4500 crores. Besides the cost, it also ends the model code of conduct, which paralyses development in the states. Though the lives of the women ‘born’ are improving, many in the society still don’t want them. There is a wide gap in the sex ratios between men and women in the villages and rural areas of India.

Additionally, sex-selective abortions led to 63 million missing women in India. Many couples who preferred a boy over a girl, went ahead with sex-selective abortions, which is illegal in India. Doctors and medical staff assist the couples who don’t want a girl child. This practice is rampant in interior and rural parts of the nation.

The revelations came as a part of the Economic Survey released by the Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian. Besides these disturbing facts, there has been a sense of positivity too. The survey also pointed out towards the decline in the experience of sexual and physical violence by women.
