It came out as a shocker to one and all that the Consul General Shashank Vikram, who was robbed by 8 armed men and also held his 5-year-old son at gunpoint shows clear security lapse. The Incident happened on Thursday came to limelight when the Indian government on Sunday took the matter to authorities in South Africa, stating that the safety and security of Indian diplomats/officials designated abroad and their families are of highest priority.

In spite of all protection given by the South African Police Services, VIP unit, a private guard company and armed response provider, the envoy’s residence, Indian House, in the Morningside area of the city, was breached, said the local reports.

Breaking open into the house by attacking the guard, around 4 pm local time, the robbers gave a 10-minute ordeal to Vikram’s wife, Megha Singh and their two young children who were home at that time, terrifying all of them. It looks like they held the five-year-old son of the general hostage as they demanded money and gold from Mrs. Singh.

Mrs. Singh pressed the alarm running to the main bedroom and called her husband. The robbers fled taking a cellphone and a few other small items, while Vikram rushed home even before security officers could reach the spot and took the surveillance camera footage.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Vikram and inquired about his family.

Mega fans have been waiting eagerly for the Power Star Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Agnathavasi’. The film is being directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The production unit has recently stated that the film wrapped up it’s shooting with the last leg in Europe. But the recent news is that the production team is gearing up for another new schedule in Varanasi. Close sources to the production unit have confirmed the same.

Scenes will be panned on Pawan Kalyan and other star cast in the film in Varanasi. Pawan Kalyan returned to Hyderabad recently from London. Pawan Kalyan received the prestigious IEBF – Indo European Business Forum Excellency Award in the House of Lords. Trivikram Srinivas shot some scenes in Hyderabad while Pawan Kalyan was away.

The director and the production team are working day and night to ensure that the film releases according to the schedule, i.e., for 2018 Sankranti festival. Keerthi Suresh and Anu Immanuel are the heroines starring opposite Pawan Kalyan in the film. Trade analysts are predicting that ‘Agnathavasi’ will rewrite many Telugu film records in terms of collections and business.

After a disastrous first inning in the first test between India and Sri Lanka, the Indian team bounced back. India was all-out for just 171 runs in their first innings, a touch below 60 overs. The Sri Lankan batsman managed to score 294 and took a decisive lead of 123 runs in the first innings. At the end of the fourth day, India remained in a strong position after the openers flourished with 50+ scores. The only victim to fall was Shrikar Dhawan who made elegant-94 before nicking the ball to the keeper in Shanaka bowling.

After the most part of the first two days was washed out because of bad weather conditions, a proper play continued on the third and fourth days. Sri Lanka who began their innings on the 3rdday continued to play into the 4th day. With Rangana Herath scoring a brisk 67 out 105 balls, the visitors managed to post a total of 294 from 201/7.

Indian pace bowlers Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami picked 4 wickets each, while Umesh Yadav picked 2 wickets. No spinner among the Indian bowlers picked a wicket.

India started their innings before an hour to the Tea break. It is the first time the Indian Openers had a century partnership in the 2nd innings of a test after 2010. Currently, KL Rahul 73* and CA Pujara 2* are in the crease. The play was called-off before the scheduled time due to bad light.

It is official. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Deepika Padukone, ‘Padmavathi’ film has been postponed. Which means, the film will not be releasing on December 1st as stated earlier. The film’s production unit has announced that the film has been postponed, and no new release date has been confirmed yet.

‘Padmavathi’ is yet to get a certificate from the CBFC – Central Board of Film Certification. Many people are expecting that this could be the possible reason for postponing the film. An official representative for Viacom 18 Motion Pictures said that ‘We respect the law and constitution, and CBFC. We are hoping that we will obtain all the obligatory permission required for the release of the film very soon.’

The CBFC rejected to certify the film by stating that ‘Application form’ was incomplete. CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi condemned the screening of the film to media personnel even before it’s certification. ‘Padmavathi’ has been involved in a lot of controversies right from the initial days of the production.

Most notably, the Karni Sena has raised serious objections about few scenes in the film. ‘In reality, Rani Padmini and Khilji never met. But this film even illustrates a love-story between the two. Such kind of content is deeply hurting us,’ said the Karni Sena protestors in the past. With CBFC yet to certify the film, the production unit had no other choice but to postpone the film. No ‘New-date of release’ has been announced yet.

The Andhra Pradesh State Government and the UNESCO will be hosting the 3-day ‘TECH Conference 2017’ in the city of Visakhapatnam. City’s joint collector G. Srujana has been appointed as the ‘Nodal Officer’ for the upcoming ‘Tech Conference 2017’.

It is expected that 150 Professors, Educationists and 130 Teachers who won ‘State Award for the Best Teacher’ will be attending the conference. The theme of the conference is ‘21st Century Skills’.

The state government sources have confirmed that 1000 representatives from 55 countries will be attending the conference. Political leaders and Officials from 15 Countries, 5 Software Companies, and 13 Start-Up Companies representatives will also take part in the conference. The conference will be held from 16th December – 18th December 2017.

20-year-old medical student, Manushi Chhillar hailing from the state of Haryana has been crowned the ‘2017 Miss World’ in the beauty pageant event held in China. After Aishwarya Rai (1994) and Priyanka Chopra (2000), Manushi Chhillar became the third Indian to win the beauty pageant. She has been crowned by the 2016 Miss World, Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico.

It was after 17 long years that an Indian managed to win the beauty pageant. Priyanka Chopra was the last India before Manushi to win the contest in the year 2000. Wishes poured from all over the nation. Notably, PM Narendra Modi congratulated Manushi in his tweet.

Neha Dhupia, who herself won Femina Miss India Title (2002) mentored the contestants this time. Bollywood celebrities like AnupamKher, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza along with Neha Dhupia wished Manushi on becoming Miss World 2017.

In the final round of the beauty pageant contest, Manushi was asked ‘Which profession should be paid the highest salary’. Her answer, ‘I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary, it’s not always about cash. But I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone,’ was welcomed with a grand applause and got her the Miss Word 2017 Beauty Pageant award.

After the Hollywood Celebrities, it looks like the US Army is investigating on charges over ‘Sexual Harassment’ within its armed forces. The Pentagon has released a report stating a total of 20,348 cases pertaining to sexual assault have been registered at various US Defence installations around the globe. The reporting’s

The report has been provided by the Department of Defence’s SAPRO – Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office on Friday. According to the report, the US Army had the highest number of cases against them. A record of 8284 cases was filed against the US Army. The number of cases against Marine Corps was 3400, against the Air Force were 3876 and against the Navy were 4788.

The Pentagon observed the steep increase in people experiencing sexual assaults from 25% to 32% in 2013-2015 and 2016 years respectively.

The San Antonio based reported the highest number of sexual assaults with 881. The US Army holds the most number of sexual assault cases than any other country currently serving in the Afghanistan areas.

From 2013, Pentagon allowed the victims to seek legal help without reporting the sexual assault incident to the police and their command.
