Hidden Facts Behind Tirumala Temple Temporary Closing

Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam is one of the most important temples in India. It is a surprise to everyone that the Thirumala Devasthanam is closed for a fortnight by the rush of thousands of devotees every day. However, we hear that the Ashtabandhana Balaalayam Mahaa Samprokshana is a great tradition. What is this great tradition? This article is intended to inform the reasons for its implementation.

This great festival will be held every 12 years in every Vaishnava temples. However, this is the place where the temple of Tirumala Tirupathi has 17 km aura itself. Normally, the old shrine has been refurbished by the chief priests, clean the impurities inside the sanctum, because those impurities considered as the disservice. The whole cleaning and doing repairs are considered as Mahaa Samprokshana process.

But, according to divine Scientology, the octagonal program is to fill the centerpiece of the Padmapedestal of their base Virat Foot with opodeldoc. Part of this event is made of 8 varieties of pots placed near the corner of the base Virat under Sriwari foot. These include black pepper, karakaiya, reddish column, butter, kandachkara, lacquer, flint, and jaggery. The mixture of these items is poured into the holes in the wall on the top of the base Virat, along with the source of the aadhaar pedestal and the paadhapedestal. This mixture melts in the order of time and the change of color reduces energy in the Base Virat. Therefore, the power of the source in the Base Virat is put in the wreath, and the Swami’s power is placed at the 24 yaagaalu that are specially set up in the old Kalyana Mandap adjacent to the temple. There are all the rituals performed by the Swami as like the shrine. By doing so, the Swami will have the opportunity to increase their source of energy.

On the last day after five days, the energy will again be pulled from the wreath into the Base Virat. This complete program is known as the Ashtabandhana Balaalayam Mahaa Samprokshana tradition. It started in 1958, last held in 2006 and is now held in August. On August 11th, Saturday 9 hours, Saturday 12th Sunday 4 hours, 13th Monday 5 hours, 14th Tuesday 5 hours, 15th Wednesday 6 hours only the devotees will be allowed to visit Srivaaru. Whatever it is for Venkateswara and he’s always for us.

Centre Gives Shock To Andhra Pradesh Over Special Package

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Despite the protests from the TDP MPs in and outside the Parliament, the Ministry of Finance announced that it is almost impossible to give Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. It cited that, if AP is given Special Status in the name of ‘Telugu people’s sentiment’, then Tamilians and Malayalis will come tomorrow, demanding a similar thing from the Centre, in the name of ‘sentiment’.

At the same time, the Ministry of Finance also said, demanding the incentives given to the Eastern States for AP, is not possible and is absolutely senseless.‘The AP MPs are unnecessarily raising the political heat in the name of self-respect. As far as we are concerned, giving Special Status to Andhra Pradesh is not possible. The best we can do is fulfilling the commitments made in the Special Package. This is by far the best and most viable option.

Moreover, the Andhra Pradesh government did not submit records for the funds released by the Centre. It is not possible to grant any sort of Tax Incentives for Andhra Pradesh,’ said the Ministry of Finance. With the latest reply from the Centre, it will be interesting to see what measures AP CM Chandrababu Naidu would take to counter BJP-led Centre.

Temples in AP asked not to celebrate New Year on Jan 1

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

The temples in Andhra Pradesh were asked not to celebrate New Year on January 1 by the State Endowments Department, which said it was not “Indian Vedic culture”.

The Hindu Dharma Parirakshna Trust (HDPT), under the state Endowments Department, has issued a circular to all temples in this regard, citing a directive from the Endowments commissioner Y V Anuradha.

The HDPT secretary C Vijaya Raghavacharyulu said in the circular, that exchanging greetings on January 1 and celebrating it like the festival is not Indian Vedic culture. Celebrating Ugadi, the Telugu New Year’s Day, in the month of Chaitra, is appropriate and the best culture.

India attained Independence 70 years ago and we are still following the Gregorian calendar introduced by the British. Lakhs of rupees are being spent in decorating temples to celebrate on January 1 by ignoring Indian culture.

The trust secretary said it is not right, hence there should be no special decoration of temples on Jan 1.  We even find people, throng Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, the largest temple in AP. However, SED stated that the order will not be applicable to Tirumala as it is an independent entity.

Karthika Masam – The Most Auspicious and Sacred Month

Karthika Masam – The Most Auspicious and Sacred Month

Karthika Masam:

It is a month long festival, starting just after Deepavali Amavasya where both Lord Shiva and Maha Vishnu are worshipped and prayed. The month begins from Aswayuja Suklapournami. It is most auspicious and sacred month for both Shaiva and Vaishnava followers. It is believed that offering prayers to “Shivakesavas” particularly in this month brings luck and prosperity. Karthika Masam is the favorite month to Lord Shiva amongst all other months.

Devotees observe karthika Masa Vratham and perform various customs and rituals. It is believed that following these rituals leads them to a good life and attain moksha. Upavasams are performed on every single Monday. Dhanams like vastradhanam, Swarnadhanam, ghodhanamto yield good results.

karthika masam the most auspicious month to prayCultural Beliefs:

“Shivaya Vishnu Roopaya
Shiva Roopaya Vishnave…
Shivaya Hrudayam Vishnu
Vishnoscha Hrudayagum Shivah”

 “Yathaa Shivamayo Vishnu
Evam Vishnu Maya Shivah”

Karthika Masam helps the devotee to understand and embrace the thought that there is no difference between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva and they both are one. We attain bliss when we worship them in one form. Important poojas observed are Ksheerabdhi dwadasi, Ekadasi, karthika deepam or karthika pournami Pooja, lighting lamps near sacred TulasiKota (plant) and doing Nitya poojas to goddess Tulasi and chanting Vishnu and Shivasahasranamams, chanting shiva stotras once in a day, Monday fastings and meditating to Lord Shiva. Due to “kaaladharmam”, and with our own regular life taking over us, we are finding it difficult to follow each and every ritual, mentioned in Karthika Puranam. But if we can at least practice few of the rituals and do simple Pooja, keeping our homes and mind clean and occupied by God’s chanting.

Lord Vishnu goes to sleep on Ashada Shuddha Ekadasi and wakes up on the Karthika Shuddha Ekadasi. During this time, Lord Shiva killed Tripurasuras on Karthika pournami day and protect the world from destruction. Karthika Masam notes that river Ganga merges into all rivers, ponds, canals, and wells and makes as pure as her (Ganga). During Karthika Masam, Ayyapa Deeksha is also taken and is observed till Makar Sankranthi.

karthika masam – the most auspicious and sacred month

Karthika Masam also Known as Damodar Masam:

It is a whole month festival and poojas are conducted and observed for the full month. People citing many reasons cannot perform for the whole month which is 30 days should at least observe prayers for a minimum of 10 days. They are initial starting five days of Karthik Masam and 5 days before pournima. These 10 days are very significant days. There is no sacred month like Karthik Masam, there is no God similar to Lord Vishnu and there is no scripture like Vedas and no river like Ganga, as per our Puranas.

Suta Mahamuni once told to the great sages:

“The month of Karthika is a sin destroying month and is gifted with divine power. Lord Vishnu’s is so dear to this month and he also grants both worldly wishes and also gives Moksha (Salvation).

3karthika-masam-the-most-auRituals and Karthik Masam:

Japam:

Chanting the holy name of Lord Vishnu takes over to all other rituals. If anybody performs even few minutes of worship to Lord Shri Hari, he even grants his own abode as a blessing.

Deepa Dhanam (Offering oil Lamps):

Offering Lord Vishnu the oil lamps or deepams, flowers, your anger, food, etc. will yield immense spiritual benefits, especially when observed during the Karthik Masam.

The significance of Deepa dhanam is mentioned in Padma Puranam where a mouse, due to its hunger tried to eat ghee from the lamp offered to Lord Vishnu by devotees. But the ghee wick stuck to its teeth and since the wick had aflame, the mouse could not bear the heat and started jumping in- front of the Lord’s Deity idol and died due to the fire. But Lord Vishnu accepted the jumping of that mouse with a fire lit ghee wick in her mouth as “Aarathi” to him and he granted liberation which is the highest destination. Such is the greatness of Deepa Dhanam. Even a single lamp lit to the God in this month with devotion, destroys all sins piled by them equaling 1000 yugas. It is the best gift we can offer to God and the person who lights lamps with sesame oil (til) to Lord Shri Hari during Sandhya time is blessed with endless beauty, blessedness, unlimited prosperity and wealth.

karthika masam the most auspicious month to prayOn the full moon day, in the Karthika Masam, on the rise of the star ‘Kritiga’, Hindus celebrate the Karthika Deepam. A huge beacon is lit on the holy hill ‘Arunachala’ located in South India.

Annamalai Deepam:

Lord Shiva once asks Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu to find where is head and feet are exactly located. He took a gigantic form hence they could not find the exact location. It is at this time, Lord Shiva takes the form of a Jyothi (light of fire) on the hill of ‘Thiruvannamalai’, where today they celebrate this festival as “Annamalai Deepam”. A special torch is lighted on the peak of the hill and it is believed that Lord Shiva’s Jyothi is visible on this day.

Nadi snanam (Bathing in Rivers):

Bathing in rivers in Karthika Masam is not only considered holy but also has significant scientific and medical benefits. Rivers receive fresh waters from the rainy season covering Shravan and Bhadrapada Masam’s and overflow banks, it is hence prohibited to take bath in rivers in those months. But the river totally settles with the start of Karthika Masam. In Sharad Ruthuvu, the moon plays an important role. This Ruthuvu covers both the Aswayuja and Karthika Masam. At this time, the river absorbs energy from the moon which we receive as we bathe in the rivers. Hence it is compulsory to take at least one dip during this month.

karthika masam the most auspicious month to prayApart from the above reason, another theory as per to science, water gets enriched with more Magnetic Power from Earth and the power is stored in water until sunrise. This is one of the main reasons our ancients insisted on “Nadi snanams” (River Baths) before sunrise. Magnetic Therapy believes that taking a dip in any flowing river waters on Karthika Somavaram (Monday) for about 15mins can bring relief from the stomach, and Liver disorders and also help maintain good general health.

List of Festivals in Karthik Masam and their Meaning:

  • Yama Vidhiya:

Yama Vidhiya is the first festival celebrated in Karthik Masam. We also call it ‘Bhagini Bhojanam’, also known as a brother-sister festival. Once, Lord Yama’s sister Yami (Yamuna Devi) was upset on her brother, to which he grants a boon to her. On the day of ‘Yama Vidhiya’ whoever eats food in their sister’s home will be relieved of sins and would not be facing torture in hell. Significance of ‘Kartika Masa Vana Bhojanam’

Significance of ‘Kartika Masa Vana Bhojanam’

‘Kartika Damodara masa’ is the month of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, where devotees throng the temples in the worship of their deity. Offering prayers and chanting the divine names of Vishnu and Shiva is considered auspicious in this divine month.

First of all, we need to understand the Significance of Kartika Vana Bhojanam. Why should we celebrate it?

It is very important to celebrate Vana Bhojanam or Kartika Vana Bhojanam.‘Vanam’ means loving Mother Nature, the forest. This is explained in detail in Amarakosam. People raise the question of why we should go to the forest and eat food over there with our families. It is a kind of annual ritual, a picnic undertaken in Andhra Pradesh in the month of Kartika Masam.

As per Hindu traditions, Trees/plants play a pivotal role on mother earth as they serve ‘SamasthaJeevaRaasulu’ all life including human beings in many ways. Our ancestors conceived Nature as God and always treated it with respect. It’s said, ‘Vruksho Rakshati Rakshitaha’, meaning, ‘One who protects the trees, is protected’. Amla(Gooseberry) a savior to humanity is worshipped and also has got immense medicinal values/benefits. Eating this fruit helps in gaining immunity and keeps illness at a distance.

It is believed that Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi prefer to reside under Amla trees during the Kartika parvam (month). This is the reason why people during the month of Kartika light the lamps with cow ghee and place them around the Amla tree, and worship. Telugu people especially, offer prayers to Lord Vishnu and recite the Vishnu Purana and Kartika Purana during the VanaMahostavamrituals. Apart from Amla tree, tulsi, bilva, and durva are considered divine and offered pujas.

significance of ‘kartika masa vana bhojanam'Traditionally people cook food under the Amla tree, and after offering prayers consume the food as prasadam. The sight of an Amla plant was a common thing in the backyard of every house. In the ancient times, Vanabhojam’s foremost intention was ‘Satkalakshepam’, spending time worshiping ‘suras’ (deities), in a righteous and noble manner. These outings were mainly dedicated to ‘Purana Parayanam’ i.e. reading the Holy Scriptures, an activity observed for concentration, dedication and contemplation of the individual soul to God.

In the current generation, this auspicious festival tradition has been masked with remorseful activities and conducts. The noble practice has been mutated into a ‘Chaturmukha Parayanam’, where people indulge themselves playing the game of cards and gambling. While few sections of the society treat it as holiday gathering and end it with the consumption of alcohol. Few organizations do make families, office staff and friends a part of this tradition. They perform the Pooja, and carry dining activities in the garden, which usually seems more like a ‘weekend outing’.

Though we have understood the real meaning of Kartika Masam, and the importance of Vana Bhojanam, the real challenge is educating the current society, which holds the function, but without any values to it. The festival has become a platform for people to showcase their talents than recognizing their inner self, thereby overshadowing the real purpose of gathering.

Kartika Vanabhojana Katha:

On this auspicious month, we talk and discuss a lot about Lord Vishnu and Vana Bhojanam. Taking this as an opportunity, I would like to tell you all dear readers a small story about Kartika Vana Bhojana!

Due to Kartika Masam, many families residing in cities held a gathering for Vana Bhojanalu. They were deeply engrossed in recollecting and discussing past happenings in their life. They were also talking about new developments in the present society.Though these platforms get people together, individuals use these gatherings to assert their talents and prove themselves. Due to this reason, the real essence of coming together is lost behind dark clouds. If we wish to bring awareness, change, and positivity in our children, we should share this story with them. If not everyone, at least a few might change their course and move towards good and follow righteousness.

Kartika MasamVanabhojanam welcomes one and all. Dips in holy rivers, lighting the lamps, chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaaya’ and singing bhajans of Bhagawan are a common practice throughout the Kartika Masam, and they signify the devotion of the devotee towards the Lord. The festival brings an occasion for everyone to come together. Villages often associate themselves with mythology, drawing people to celebrate the festival. The Kartika Masam Vanabhojanam festival deepens the bonding between the villages and the rest of the nation.

What is this story all about? To know, Let us read further.

We all know, Lord Shiva is the Supreme form. Gods, rishis, and maharishis, and every soul in this universe prostrate at the feet of Lord Shiva. People wait for yugas, just to get a mere glimpse of the God. Even “Bhola Shankar” as the name goes by, is an innocent Shivayya who is always waiting and ready to bless his devotees with whatever they wish or desire. Unlike Lord Vishnu who resides in ‘Pala Samudra’, Lord Shiva resides in the ‘Bhakti Samudra’ and treats all his creation with equality. The Nagendra (Snake God) who has decorated himself with garland to Lord Shiva is watching all of this from yugas. It observed, all the devotees who are coming to Kailasa to have Darshan of Shivayya, are particularly watching him too.

significance of ‘kartika masa vana bhojanam'He got confused, thinking whether they are all offering their salutations to him or to Lord Shiva. It slowly developed ego (Aham). His thoughts became narrow, making him negative. The snake thought people are so foolish to wait for years together to get a glimpse of the Lord.It thought, having embellished the Lord for so many ages now, it must be greater than the God.

The Snake thought to leave Lord Shiva and Kailash, and approach the devotees directly. It also thought of blessing and giving salvation to the devotees. Out of its foolishness, the Snake felt that he is the only one who can resolve problems and they have to worship him.The Snake differed to share its respect with Shivayya.

That’s it!!

It left Kailash and Lord Shiva only to find itself in dense forest where it found a sage in deep meditation. On seeing the snake, the sage humbly offered his prayers. The snake was happy and moved forward, only to find a traveler on the way. The traveler got scared seeing the snake and ran for his life. The snake’s ego raised and went ahead. It found a group of people cutting wood, on seeing the snake they all stopped working and looked at it. They signaled each other, and within seconds they started running towards the snake with an axe to kill it. Realizing what is happening to him, it started moving swiftly to save its life.

At last, the snake realized the gravity of his mistake and his position. It went back to Lord Shiva in a remorseful state asking for Lord’s forgiveness. “Neelakanta” also known as Lord Shiva, graced the snake with a smile and he soon not only witnessed but also realized the greatness of the God.

I hope the readers, especially young children must have understood that only Lord Shiva is our root, our home, our abode and that snake is none other than every one of us, our mind. Just like the God graced the realized snake, we should remember our villages grace us with the same kind of love.

Let’s now pledge that we will respect, worship and develop our villages. Let us all come together to preserve our rich culture, heritage, and traditional values which not only bind us but also bring unity in diversity. Probably, my reader must have come here to read a lighter article, but I am sure you will be leaving the page with more knowledge.

Om Namah Shivayah!!

Shocking Facts That Prove Lord Krishna Lived For 126 Years On Earth

He is the Paramatma and the Almighty. He is fondly known as Gopala, Vasudeva or Sri Krishna. In Hindutva, Krishna is often considered as the complete manifestation of God who took the form of human flesh and blood. There are numerous astronomical and geographical references throughout Vedas and Puranas, which help in substantiating the fact that Krishna is indeed a factual living being, who wandered and graced this earth for over 120 years. His end marked the end of Dwapara Yuga and unleashed Kali Yuga.

These table-like findings had descriptions about an iconic figure resembling Lord Krishna. And other archaeological material found at the sites clearly supported that Krishna and the whole Mahabharata was factual. Likewise, the Greek records also make a note of Heracles (Krishna) who lived 138 generations before Alexander and Sandrocottas. Recorded history shows that Alexander and Sandrocottas (Chandragupta Maurya)lived around the 330 BCE. Taking 20 years as a median for each generation, Heracles is known to be existing around the 3090 BCE, an era which also coincides with the existence of Lord Krishna.

On seeing Lord Krishna, Gandhari who is already filled with immense grief and sorrow held Krishna responsible for the Kurukshetra war. ‘You were the Almighty, and you knew what was going to happen. Yet you made no efforts to stop it. I and my husband prayed for you, as Vishnu. If my devotion towards is true, you and your entire Yadav clan would be wiped away from the face of this earth and Dwaraka would be submerged in 36 years. You would pay for your deeds,’ cursed Gandhari. The Paramatma, looked at her smiled, only to draw more fear and anguish from Gandhari.

He went on to say, ‘There is no fault of mine in this. I did advise your sons’ not to invite war. I am everything: I am the Universe, I am the void, and I am the light and darkness. No karma can ever attach to me. But, to make your devotion true, which is, I shall take the Karma, I shall bear everything that has happened in front of me. You made my life easier, by cursing that entire Yadav clan would be wiped.’

Later, Lord Krishna left to the beautiful island of Dwaraka and ruled it for many years. With Rukmini, the goddess of wealth and wife of Krishna in Dwaraka, all the people in Dwaraka enjoyed a luxurious life. With time, the morals, goodness, and wiseness were disappearing. This can be marked as the ‘beginning’ of Kali-Yuga. With the 36th year after Kurukshetra war looming, events that were unheard and unseen took place.

shocking facts that prove lord krishna lived for 126 years on earth!Samba, son of Krishna and Jambavati became pregnant after a group of sages cursed him for his mischievous acts. He delivered a mace, which later played a major part in wiping out Yadav Clan. To add this, Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra, the Panchajanya Shanka, and Balarama’s plough suddenly disappeared, as if into thin air.The kingdom of Dwaraka has seen infectious diseases being spread, and people committing sinful acts. Knowing all this, Krishna smile and asked Arjuna to take care of Dwaraka, and left in search of his brother Balarama. As Lord Krishna, left Dwaraka, a gigantic wave gulped the whole city into the ocean’s womb.

By the time, Krishna reached Balarama, the latter’s breathing has stopped and a thousand head serpent evolved from the air, and paid salutations to Krishna and left. It is believed that Adiseshu is none other than Balarama. To overcome by grief, after the loss of his brother, Krishna rested against a tree. The moving foot of Krishna from the bushes caught the attention of hunter who was passing by. The hunter assumed it as a deer and shot with a poison-tipped arrow. The arrow was crafted from a small piece of mace, which had its origin from Samba. The same mace was responsible for wiping out the entire Yadav Clan.

But Krishna stated that it is just Karma siddhantha that prevailed, and his death was rightly deserved. ‘I killed you from behind in Treta Yuga as Rama,’ said Krishna to the hunter. Later, Krishna left his bodily form and left to the abode, where Adiseshu was already waiting for him.

This marked the end of Lord Krishna who wandered the same earth on which were are living today. He lived between 3228 BCE and 3102 BCE for about 126 years.

Dr.Alok Kar Fantastic Message To Parents

WAKE UP PARENTS

Years back, poor illiterate parents produced

  • Doctors,
  • Engineers,
  • Scientists,
  • Accountants,
  • Lawyers,
  • Architects,
  • Professors.., whom I will refer to as Group ‘A’.

These Group ‘A’ Children struggled on their own after Primary 6 or Grade 12, to become notable personalities. Most of them

  • trekked to school barefooted
  • went to farms
  • fetched water and firewood
  • cared for domesticated animals
  • did some work including trading after school to survive.

Now Group ‘A’ , who have now become Parents themselves are producing Group ‘B’ Children
These group B children are

  • pampered
  •  helped in their homework or home assignments from nursery school through secondary schools to higher institutions.
  • chauffeur driven to very expensive schools or are sent abroad to study.
  • they can watch movies from morning till dawn after school.
  •  they are treated like baby kings and queens.
  • they don’t do any household chores.
  • Food is put on the table for them,
  • their plates are removed and washed by parents or housemaids.
  • They are given expensive cars and clothes,
  • not forgetting big pocket money to be wasted !!!.
  • Their parents help them in doing their assignments.
  •  In spite of all these, only few can speak or write correctly.

Group ‘A’ Parents cared for their own parents and children, Group ‘B’, their Children are still struggling to find their feet at age 30+

They find it difficult to do things on their own because they are used to being helped to think and doing things by Group ‘A’. So they can’t help themselves, their parents or the society. THEY ABANDON THEIR PARENTS IN THEIR BID TO ACQUIRE THE WORLD

 Where do you belong?

  • Reduce the pampering and the unnecessary help you offer your children.
  •  Let your children grow in wisdom, intelligence and strength.
  • Let them face the truth and the realities of life. Teach them to grow to become
  • independent adults. Teach them to
  • fear God,
  • respect others and
  • develop confidence in them.
  • Parents, discipline your children to become disciplined adults, useful and not useless.

If it falls in the gutter, its value drops so much that it can’t be used even for washing your feet. or If it falls on a hot surface, it will evaporate… If it falls on a lotus leaf, it shines like a pearl and finally, if it falls on an oyster, it becomes a pearl… The drop is the same, but its existence & worth depends on whom it is associated with.” Always be associated with people who are good at heart.
