There is a famous idiom, ‘put your house in order, before you start advising me’. This aptly suits former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav. The former CM was undoubtedly the most celebrated politician in the Uttar Pradesh. He had a great influence at the national politics. There was a time when, people thought Mulayam could well become the Prime Minister of the Nation.

In the recent past, Mulayam was greatly taken back. He had to lose his brainchild Samajwadi Party to his own son Akhilesh Yadav. This time it is the turn of his younger daughter-in-law, MP Aparna Yadav.

Going in to the details, after the BJP led NDA government at the Centre introduced the ‘Triple Talaq’ bill in the parliament, Mulayam Singh Yadav asked for some amendments in the bill. But shockingly, MP Aparna Yadav stood up immediately, and stated ‘it is an excellent bill that will benefit the poor and innocent Muslim women who are being abandoned by their husbands’.

Given his daughter-in-law’s stance, and her proximity towards the BJP, Mulayam Singh was left high and dry. Given the family politics in Mulayam’s family, it looks like there might be different ends even in the case of regional parties.

Recently, whole India had seen an emotional Sushma Swaraj speaking in Parliament about Indian family meeting naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav in Pakistan. Pakistan’s behavior lacked basic humanity and they forgot they were addressing two women. It did not just limit to Pakistan officials, but even the media also overacted and received a lot of criticism. Indians especially have come out openly to criticize such an objectionable attitude from Pakistan.

Sadly, the officials though knew about Indian customs and traditions made Jadhav’s aged mother and wife to remove their Mangalsutra, Bindi forcefully. Seeing his mother without Bindi and Mangalsutra, Jadhav was worried for a while and asked his father’s condition. This situation shook each and every one. People came forward protesting against the improper treatment by Pakistan towards Jadhav’s family.

A Delhi based BJP leader Tejinder Bagga purchased a pair of slippers online and sent them to Pakistan high commission. He, of course, did not stop at that and posted the same on Twitter and asked his followers to send the same to them.

In no time the campaign started, many Indians have sent their Chappals to Pakistan High Commission. Surely, Pakistan must have understood the displeasure Indians have towards their arrogant behavior.

Delhi MLA, Alka Lamba opened doors to a new controversy. The AAP MLA went on to criticize PM Modi in a manner, never heard before. She took up the ‘Triple Talaq’ issue in lamenting the Prime Minister of India.

On her official Twitter account, the lady MLA went on to say, ‘instead of saying Talaq Talaq Talaq and going to jail, they can instead leave their wife without saying anything and can become the Prime Minister of India.’

In her tweet, Alka Lamba was referring to Narendra Modi. PM Modi was assumed to be unmarried during his term as Gujarat CM. The nation came to know that he was married only after he submitted in his affidavit while contending for the post of Prime Minister. Since then, the oppositions tried their best to put Modi in a fix.

But the BJP leaders were successful in retaliating against the opposition moves. Alka Lamba tweet invited a lot of criticism, with people bashing at her immature and sick comments, give the political motives. Meanwhile, some netizens supported Alka Lamba’s  tweet, by stating that, Modi who has abandoned his wife has no right to speak about Triple Talaq.

Soon, their dreams were broken after Sasikala and her Mannargudi mafia took hold of the party. Though Sasikala went to jail, she thought she could rule Tamil Nadu. Given, Palani Swamy’s devious and cunning politics, he later joined hands with Paneer Selvam.

Noticing the change, BJP wanted to fix Sasikala further and ordered IT Raids. Everyone thought that these raids would have a great impact on RK Nagar by-election. Shockingly, TTV Dinakaran won the elections, despite many attempts from the Centre. The Tamil Nadu people gave a befitting reply to the cheap politics played by the Centre.

Not learning from the humiliating lesson, Modi and Team are once again repeating the same mistake. Modi drew flak after he gave appointment to Jagan. Recently, he once again gave appointment to Vijayasai Reddy, the backbone of YS Jagan. Vijayasai Reddy said that the meet was along the lines of development programs. But the insider information is that it is more than that. If that happens to be true, Modi and BJP should be prepared to face another humiliation in the hands of Telugu people in 2019 AP Assembly elections.

Recently, during a debate in Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu disclosed the fact that how he was fooled by a weight-loss ad. ‘After becoming Vice-President, I came across an Ad which assured weight loss in a certain period. I had paid Rs.1000 for the same. Instead of receiving the delivery, I received a mail informing me that there was another tablet which I should buy for the magical weight loss. I was told the medication will be sent only after the second payment of Rs.1000. This was when I brought the matter to the notice of Consumer Affairs Ministry. In the process of inquiry, it came to light that the company is not based in New Delhi but the USA. Something should be seriously done on such advertisements,’ he said.

Center is seriously looking at putting an end to such misleading fake ads. Looks like the New Bill will bring a huge relief to the consumers who are trapped with the attractive commercials.

In a very recent incident, Arshad Vhora, an Indian origin Student, was shot dead by robbers who came with arms at the Clark gas station at 142nd and Langley in Dolton, Chicago.

It all happened when the robbers made an attempt at the convenience store, two people were shot dead. First one happened to Arshad Vhora, who died in the incident, the second victim was severely injured and is his name is still unknown. Both the victims coincidentally happen to be from the same family. They are related as Vhora was filling in for a Family member. Police authorities have made an announcement that a reward of USD 12,000 was announced to nab the culprits who escaped from the sight.

According to a report for Gun Violence Archive (GVA), about 58,491 incidents of gun violence has been reported across the US in the year 2017, while 14,763 people got killed, 29,888 have suffered severe injuries.

Ironically, these attackers targeted Indians in the past few years if we can take a keen look. In the month of December itself, an Indian-origin Young fellow was critically wounded by an unidentified goon. On December 15th, Karunakar Karengle was killed in a robbery attempt in Ohio.Yesterday it’s Arshad Vhora and his family member who paid the brunt.

It looks like the cleansing drive continues in the AIADMK even for weeks to come by. After suspending 44 members of the party on Thursday, the party suspended 130 members continuing its harsh position against those who allegedly supported Dinakaran in the RK Nagar elections.

The AIADMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palani Swamy and Deputy Chief Minister Panneer Selvam issued a joint statement confirming the same. ‘We have suspended 65 members from Tirupur, 40 members from Pudukottai, 18 members from Dharmapuri from the party and reliving them of any party post if so held. The move is taken after the party found out that these members were acting against the policies of the AIADMK party.

This cleansing drive will continue to go on until we remove each and every one who acted against the party in recent times,’ read the press release from the CM’s office.

It is also heard that the AIADMK core team is concentrating on those people who called back Dinakaran on the election results day to congratulate him on his victory. ‘We heard that 50 party members called TTV Dinakaran to congratulate him on his victory. This matter is being pursued seriously, and a strict and stern action will be taken against those,’ said a key party member.

Few incidents make us feel highly insecure about our safety within our own house. Such incident took place in Uttar Pradesh. A woman adopted a girl child when she was 3 months old from the local orphanage home. The woman has been taking care and look after the child since then.

The girl is currently 12 years old and is studying 7th grade at a local school. The young girl fell in love with a 15-year-old teenage boy, studying 9th grade in the same school. Both the girl and the boy used to meet regularly. The mother, who adopted the girl, saw both of them together. She cautioned and disciplined the young girl.

Angry over the incident, the girl and her boyfriend together planned to kill the woman. According to the plan, both of them killed the woman on Sunday midnight by strangling her neck. In the morning, the girl complained to the neighbors that her mother (stepmother) is not waking up. A doctor who arrived at the scene confirmed the woman’s death.

While the cremation was about to begin, a man noticed marks on the woman’s neck. He immediately alerted the police. On inquiry, the girl and the boy have confessed to their crime of killing the lady, the one became her second mother. Both the girl and the boy are sent to juvenile home.

In a shocking incident that took place in Azim Nagar, a small village close to the city of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Khasim has reportedly divorced his wife, Gul Afshan by saying ‘Talaq, Talaq, Talaq’, because she woke up a bit late in the morning. The woman immediately rushed to the police station and informed them of the incident.

Khasim works as a truck driver. He used to harass his wife every day. He often comes home in a completely drunken state and starts thrashing his wife black and blue. But his wife, Afshan never complained about his atrocities to anyone.

He thrashed his wife even recently. She woke up late in the morning due to the physical torture and pain. Khasim immediately gave her triple Talaq, thus divorcing her. Gul Afshan is currently living with her parents.

This incident was referred by Minister of Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad in the parliament. Ravi Shankar Prasad also stated that ‘even after the Supreme Court has given judgement against triple Talaq, hundreds of cases of this kind are seeing light. We need to work for the development of the society.’ He requested not to see the movie as a ‘vote bank’ politics by any party.

India on Thursday successfully test-fired an indigenously developed advanced air defense supersonic interceptor missile. This missile is capable of destroying an incoming ballistic missile at a lower altitude.

 The missile successfully hit an incoming ballistic missile head-on at an altitude of 35km. This test was carried out from a test range in the country’s eastern state of Odisha, officials said.

The defense sources claimed after the test launch that it was a direct hit and it was a grand success. The test was carried out to authenticate various parameters of the interceptor in flight mode and it was all success.

The interceptor is a 7.5-meter long single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile which is equipped with a navigation system, a hi-tech computer, and an electromechanical aviator said the sources.

It also has its own secure data link for interception, independent tracking, mobile launcher, and homing capabilities and sophisticated radars.

This year, this was the third supersonic interceptor test which was carried by India, in which an incoming ballistic missile target was successfully intercepted. Earlier as well, similar tests were conducted in the months of February and March, respectively.

Facebook stated in a blog post, “Some have interpreted this test as a request for people’s Aadhaar information when you sign for a Facebook account. But this is not correct. The test, that is finished now, merely includes national language on the account sign-up page to explain that using Aadhaar name will help family and friends recognize them.

Facebook re-confirmed, that they are not keen on collecting Aadhaar data and do not require people to enter their Aadhaar name when they sign up to the Facebook.

The goal of this test is only to make the new users understand how to sign up with their real name and connect with their friends and family. Facebook with these tests may learn new things that help them provide better sign-up experience for new users, as such they have no plans to roll this test out further.

Minster of Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad made a key announcement in the Parliament. The Cabinet Minister responded after the TRS MPs demanded the partition of the Joint High Court. The TRS MPs alleged that prejudice is being shown towards Telangana in the appointing High Court Judges. They also stressed the fact that, according to the bifurcation bill, Telangana should be having a separate high court.

Responding to these comments, Cabinet Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘We need to setup the Andhra Pradesh High Court in their new capital. I was informed by AP CM Chandrababu about the availability of four buildings to accommodate the high court establishment temporarily. I asked the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court to approve one of the building.

Though we can transfer the High Court on a temporary basis, it would take a long time to set up a high court permanently. I request both the states to be patient and be loving towards each other until then. And moreover, the appointment of judges is made by a collegium. ‘

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh TDP MP, Sujana Chowdary expressed his displeasure over the comments made by TRS MPs. ‘Partition of Joint High Court isn’t the only issue here. There are many more issues like Special Status, Reimbursing Revenue deficit, and much more that needs to be addressed’.

According to the Hyderabad Municipality, it has taken all the measures necessary like imposing fines and garlanding those urinating in public. But now they are in a novel way want to stop people from urinating in the open. The GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) has asked all its workers to “Whistle and make sound with a stick” to discourage such acts.

GHMC came with a new method, called “Lathi, Seeti (stick and whistle). If they find anyone urinating in the open, would whistle and tap the lathi on the ground to draw public attention.

The civic body already made 109 pre-fabricated toilets, 46 Sulabh complexes, 20 community toilets for public use. It also added that the toilets in petrol pumps, hotels and restaurants have been made available to the public.

There is a toilet every half a kilometer for the comfort of citizens, the release said.

This is welcomed by one and all and well appreciated for the measures taken by the GHMC. It is just not enough if measures are taken, people do need to change their mindsets. If mindsets are not changed with such measures, strict laws and punishments should come into action.
