Tense situations have developed in Mylavaram village, Krishna District. The YSRCP leaders alleged that TDP leader Kesineni Nani has made uncouth statements. After the cadre from both the parties got into a verbal spat, things went out of context and broke out into a physical fight. If not for the involvement of the police present at the location, things would have been much worse, said an individual who was present at the time when the incident took place.

Kesineni Nani came to inaugurate Co-operative Central Bank in the village. On the occasion, Nani spoke about various social welfare program launched by CM Chandrababu Naidu, including the Farmers Loan-Waiver scheme. It is during this time, YSRCP supporters and leader raised an objection and stated that it is unethical for Kesineni Nani who came to inaugurate the bank and boasting about Chandrababu.

Not backing off, even Nani countered the YSRCP leaders’ comments in a strong manner. He said that ‘the people of the state are benefitting from the various welfare schemes implemented by Chandrababu Naidu. He has done a lot of good for the state. That is the reason I’m talking about him’.

AP Pilgrims belonging to Vishakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh have been reportedly stuck at Badrinath. With the continuous snowfall in the northern parts of the country, the pilgrims were stuck in the lodge. With the weather department predicting an increase in snowfall and similar conditions for the next 3 days near Badrinath, the pilgrims are pleading for help from the government authorities. After their tourist bus got stuck in the snow, the pilgrims were limited to their rooms in the lodge.

104 members set off for the Chardham Pilgrimage tour in Tourist buses. Most of them are above 55 years, close sources confirmed. While 38 people made to safe places, the rest of the 66 members took shelter in a nearby lodge. 6 people belonged to Vishakhapatnam, while the rest of them are from Srikakulam.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned the Telugu states of heavy rains from May 11th. The heavy rains will last for around 3-4 days according to the IMD.

‘Beginning on May 11th, we can notice heavy rains coupled with thunders, and lightning in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. At the same time, different regions in the country will experience different types of climate. Winds are expected to touch the 60 kmph to 70 kmph mark during these 3 days’ said a senior official from the IMD.

The IMD has already warned the people to stay indoors as much as possible, owing to the heavy frequency of lightning strikes. In just a matter of three days in the last one week, more than 150,000 lightning strikes were recorded in Andhra Pradesh alone.

Speaking on the same, IMD Director K Jayaram said, ‘due to the blizzard climatic conditions prevailing across the nation, we request the people to be utmost careful. They should stay away from bus shelters, construction sites, and another type of shelters made with iron’.Given the extreme temperatures, which are soaring 4 Degrees – 5 Degrees above normal, the rains are expected to bring the heat down.

Ex-JD Lakshmi Narayana once again proved how bureaucrats can change the nation if they can work together. After he adopted Sahalalaputtuga Village in Srikakulam district, the former bureaucrat has called for the support of Non-Resident Indians.

‘I personally feel that there wouldn’t be any problems arising if we can adopt all the Uddhanam villages. The NRIs should come forward to adopt these villages. Framing good policies will not be sufficient. We should see that the policies are also executed and implemented.
