Samsung Galaxy S11 to use second-gen 108 MP sensor

0

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S11 in February, which means we have a little over four months to go. That’s plenty of time for us to get an idea of what to expect as rumors and leaks have already begun pouring in. In addition to featuring an Exynos 9830 SoC and 20:9 aspect ratio, it is now being said that there is a “high probability” that the Galaxy S11 will use a new 108MP camera sensor.

Popular tipster Ice Universe tweeted that the Galaxy S11 could use a new 108MP sensor. By “new” the tipster is talking about a second version, which could be slightly more advanced compared to the current 108MP sensor that will feature on the upcoming Mi CC9 Pro. The 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor has been developed by Samsung in collaboration with Xiaomi.

It looks like Samsung will be joining the megapixel war in 2020. The company has already released some phones with 48MP sensors, but they have been mid-range smartphones. When it comes to flagship phones, Samsung has been traditional much like Apple and Google by focusing on delivering good image quality through a combination of high-quality lens and computational photography.

To recall, the Galaxy S10 was launched with a 12MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens and a 16MP wide-angle lens. With a 108MP sensor, Samsung is probably aiming to compete against brands like Xiaomi, Realme and OnePlus in the premium segment. But will a high megapixel camera sensor translate to better image quality? Only time will tell.

The first phone to launch with a 108MP Samsung Bright HMX sensor is the Mi CC9 Pro, which will debut in China later today i.e November 5. The Mi CC9 Pro is expected to launch globally as the Mi Note 10 later this month.

Sena Leader Writes To Bhagwat: “RSS Must Intervene” In Maharashtra

0

The impasse over a 50:50 power share in Maharashtra continuing unabated, the Shiv Sena has now appealed to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh – the ideological mentor of the BJP — to help resolve the deadlock. In a letter, Shiv Sena leader Kishore Tiwari – known to be close to Union minister Nitin Gadkari — has asked Mohan Bhagwat to step in, alleging that the BJP is not following “coalition dharma”.

The Sena, following the results in the state assembly election, has claimed that the BJP had agreed to a 50:50 power share in the state ahead of the general elections. This the Sena said, would mean a rotational system for the Chief Minister’s post and half the state’s ministerial berths.

In his letter to Mohan Bhagwat, Mr Tiwari said the state has delivered a mandate in favor of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. But the BJP’s failure to follow ‘coalition dharma’ is delaying the formation of new government in Maharashtra. Therefore, the RSS “should intervene and resolve the issue,” the letter read.

There has been no response from the RSS yet.

The impasse between the allies has been on since the counting of votes took place on October 24. The Shiv Sena had refused to back down from its demand, even though the BJP has made it clear that it would not share the top post. In an editorial in Saamana, the Sena had declared though it had accepted the BJP’s conditions in 2014, this time, it would not “blink first”.

Furious with the lack of response from the BJP camp, the Sena has even announced that it was ready to go with Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress to form government.

Even after a meeting between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP chief Amit Shah, the BJP has not issued a response. After the meeting on Monday morning, Mr Fadnavis told reporters that there is a need to form the government in Maharashtra at the earliest and it would be formed.

There was no word on how the BJP would go about it or on any negotiation with the Sena.

The deadline for government formation in the state is fast approaching – the term of the Maharashtra assembly ends on November 9.

The BJP-Shiv Sena’s combined tally in the 288-seat Maharashtra assembly stands at 161.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is set against any dealing with the Shiv Sena, sources said, even though her party leaders in Maharashtra and ally Sharad Pawar are said to be amenable to an arrangement to keep the BJP out of power.

“Hands Will Be Broken, Strangled”: BJP MP

0

BJP MP Janardan Mishra on Monday slammed the Madhya Pradesh government over loan waivers to farmers and said those policemen “who arrive to recover loans from farmers will be strangulated and their hands will be broken.”

Speaking at the party’s ”Kisan Aakrosh Aandolan”, the Rewa MP accused the state government of working against farmers.

“If anyone from Congress or police come to farmers with a motive to take revenge, their hands will be broken and they will be strangulated to death. BJP workers are strongly standing with the farmers,” Mr Mishra said.

The MP further alleged that the Congress government in the state was engaged in “divisive and destructive” politics.

“Let me tell you that if Congress plays divisive and destructive politics, then we will let not it happen and bury the destructive politics,” he said.

Sena Gets Support Of Independent MLA As Power Tussle Continues

0

As uncertainty over government formation continues to prevail in Maharashtra. one more Independent MLA extended support to Shiv Sena on Monday.

Rajendra Patil Yadravkar, an Independent MLA from Shirol, pledged his support to Shiv Sena that won 56 seats in the recently concluded Maharashtra assembly elections. The party had earlier claimed support of seven independent MLAs.

Mr Patil is among the legislators who have supported Shiv Sena after the announcement of poll results. Other MLAs who have lent their support to the party include Manjula Gavit from Sakri, Chandrakant Patil from Muktainagar, Bachchu Kadu from Achalpur, Rajkumar Patel from Melghat, Ashish Jaiswal from Ramtek, Narendra Bhondekar from Bhandara, and Shankar Rao Gadakh from Newasa Assembly constituency.

Shiv Sena is engaged in a bitter slugfest with ally BJP over its demand for an equal share in Cabinet portfolios and the chief minister’s term in the next government. However, the BJP has not budged, maintaining that Devendra Fadnavis will continue to head the government.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis, both, have said that a new government will soon be in place in the state.

After the results were announced, Sena has said that the two parties had a ”50-50” power-sharing agreement before the elections but Mr Fadnavis has clarified that Shiv Sena was not guaranteed the seat of minister for 30 months when the agreement was sealed before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP has risen as the single most comprehensive party by acquiring 105 seats in the recently ended polls in the 288-member state Assembly.

New Zealand take 2-1 lead as England crumble in chase

0

Dawid Malan‘s half-century, backed by James Vince’s 49, went in vain as New Zealand triggered a dramatic collapse late in England’s chase to win the third T20I by 14 runs in Nelson, and go 2-1 up in the series.

At one point, with 31 balls remaining, England needed only 42 runs with eight wickets in hand. And then, Eoin Morgan fell trying to slog Mitchell Santner, who kept persisting with the angle away from the left-hander. In 17 balls from thereon, they lost four wickets in return on only 10 runs. In a period of three overs, the tables had completely shifted.

For most parts of the chase though, England were cruising. Starting with the manner in which debutant Tom Banton had taken on the New Zealand’s new-ball pair. It was a short 10-ball stay, but yielded 18 fancy runs that gave England the early momentum.

Malan and Vince continued the good work with a 63-run stand in only 45 balls. Malan was the aggressor in the stand and hit 8 boundaries and a six en route his 34-ball 55. Vince, who had a forgettable outing only a couple of days ago, looked far assured on Tuesday (November 5). Even after Malan fell slog sweeping a low full toss by Ish Sodhi to the deep mid-wicket fielder, he continued to build on in the company of Eoin Morgan.

The England skipper looked threatening through the course of his stay, sweeping everything in his arc. The approach made Santner change his approach and had him bowl angling away from around the wicket. He erred in lines a few times, and even bowled a few wides. Yet, he continued to persist with the approach before eventually getting the better of Morgan, who got a tail edge of his bat and was caught at long-on.

England was never to get back into the contest from thereon. Tickner and Ferguson used their slower balls to good effect and return with identical figures – 2 for 25 – as England were restricted to 166 for 7.

Earlier in the day, Colin de Grandhomme’s quickfire fifty set the base for New Zealand’s innings. The hosts did have a smoother graduation to their scoring as compared to the previous two encounters, but the inability to press the accelerator harder in the death overs left them 10 to 15 runs shorter of what seemed a likely total around the 15-over mark.

Going in with a batsman short – Blair Tickner coming in for Daryl Mitchell – the hosts needed to rein in a bit of audacity with their shot-making. However, Martin Guptill provided another quickfire start, stroking seven boundaries en route 17-ball 33 before skying an off-cutter by Patrick Brown. On the other hand, Colin Munro’s poor form continued as he fell for an 8-ball 6 soon after.

Tim Siefert too struggled through his stay in the middle before becoming debutant Matthew Parkinson’s maiden T20I victim. However, with de Grandhomme hitting the ball clean and big, it didn’t impact the scoring rate. He even carted Saqib Mahmood for two fours and a six after he had already been taken apart for 15 runs by Martin Guptill earlier. The all-rounder continued his assault even in the company of Ross Taylor, who took his time to settle in.

De Grandhomme brought up his third T20I fifty with a straight six down the ground off Brown, and departed soon after. Taylor, much like in the previous innings, failed to push the scoring rate and was eventually hit on the back leg while attempting a heave and adjudged leg before.

England continued to use their variations of slower balls again to restrict New Zealand’s late acceleration. James Neesham and Mitchell Santner hit a few boundaries to take the side to 180 for 7.

Brief scores: New Zealand 180/7 in 20 overs (Colin de Grandhomme 55, Martin Guptill 33; Tom Curran 2-29, Matthew Parkinson 1-14) beat England 166/7 in 20 overs (Dawid Malan 55, James Vince 49; Lockie Ferguson 2-25, Blair Tickner 2-25) by 14 runs

Adobe Photoshop for iPad Listed on App Store

0

Adobe Photoshop for iPad has reached the App Store after much anticipation. The new development comes just ahead of the Adobe Max conference that kicks off in Los Angeles on Monday where the California-based company is expected to announce the formal launch of the Photoshop for iPad.

Adobe was due to launch the iPad version of Photoshop for a long time. Last year, the company was reported to bring the full version of its Photoshop app for iPad under its strategy to develop its products compatible across multiple devices.

As per the listing on the App Store, Photoshop for iPad is available with a 30-day free trial. It requires iPadOS and is compatible with devices namely the iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, second-generation iPad Pro, iPad 5, iPad mini 4, and iPad Air 2. It also supports both generations of the Apple Pencil.

The latest Photoshop release is specifically designed for iPad devices. It enables retouching and compositing of images as well as supports blend modes. Further, there are built-in Toolbar tools to provide an experience similar to what’s available on desktops.

Adobe has provided a context-aware UI that enables the Photoshop app to show only the core tools and panes on the screen to help users focus on their canvas. There is also the Adobe Creative Cloud integration to offer syncing between multiple devices.

“This version of Photoshop is used to retouch the basic design tools that work with Apple Pencil. And we’re just getting started. For forthcoming versions, we’re looking at intensifying our tools used for brushes, masks, refining edges, and selecting smart subjects,” the company noted.

Back in July last year, a Bloomberg report quoted Adobe’s chief product officer Scott Belsky to suggest the imminent launch of Photoshop for iPad. The report said that the company planned a cross-platform iteration of Photoshop to boost subscription sales. Adobe, however, didn’t specify the formal launch date.

Having said that, Photoshop for iPad is likely to get an official debut at the Adobe Max conference later on Monday. The annual conference would also be the place where the company could unveil its other creativity-focussed products for iPad and other devices alongside updates to its cloud service.

2 Meetings to be held As Sena Steps Up Pressure On BJP in Maharastra

0

Two meetings in Delhi today may have a bearing on Maharashtra, where government formation has been stalled for 11 days because of a power tussle between the BJP and its ally Shiv Sena, who won a clear majority together.

At a time Delhi is shrouded by toxic, record smog that has forced schools to shut down and people to stay indoors, two top Maharashtra leaders are heading to the city for talks – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP and opposition stalwart Sharad Pawar, whose Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) finished third in last month’s state election.

Devendra Fadnavis meet with his party chief, Home Minister Amit Shah. Sharad Pawar is likely to hold discussions with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

In Maharashtra, a third meeting today could be of huge significance; the Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, is expected to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and urge him to invite the single largest party to form government.

The Shiv Sena leader today tweeted a photo of him with party chief Uddhav Thackeray along with a message, saying”journey is enjoyable before reaching the goal”.

The demand, signaling that the Sena has amped up the staring contest between the allies, appears to be aimed at pushing the BJP to a corner.

“There are no backdoor discussions. There is a deadlock and we are not responsible for it. BJP being the single largest party should claim to form government first… but if they fail, we can stake claim,” Sanjay Raut told reporters on Sunday.

The BJP with 105 seats and the Sena with 56 seats have a clear majority in the 288-member Maharashtra assembly. But the BJP’s hopes for a seamless transition into a second straight term with Devendra Fadnavis in charge are on hold with the Sena demanding equal power-share under what it calls was a “50:50 formula” discussed with Amit Shah earlier this year, before the national election in May. According to the Sena, the plan was for chief ministers from each party sharing the five-year term equally.

The BJP has firmly rejected the idea and insists Mr Fadnavis will be chief minister for a full term.

Ganguly Thanks Both Teams For Playing Under Tough Conditions In Delhi

0

India lost to Bangladesh by seven wickets in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series opener at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi on Sunday. Ahead of the game, air pollution in Delhi was the talk of the town as air quality in the national capital deteriorated to hazardous levels. The smog settled down in the nick of time for the first T20I to start on schedule.

After the match, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Sourav Ganguly, took to Twitter to thank both teams for turning up on the field amid health concerns due to the air pollution in Delhi. “Thank u to both the teams to play this game @ImRo45 @BCBtigers under tuff conditions .. well-done Bangladesh,” Sourav Ganguly tweeted.

In the match, Bangladesh won the toss and asked India to bat. The visitors got off to a great start as India skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for nine in the first over.

19-year-old Aminul Islam, playing his second T20I, rattled the Indian middle-order as he finished with figures of two for 22 in three overs.

For India, Shikhar Dhawan was looking set for a big score but a mix-up in the middle with Rishabh Pant ended Dhawan’s innings at 41. India posted 148 for six in their 20 overs.

Like India, Bangladesh too lost their opening batsman in the first over as Deepak Chahar sent back Liton Das for seven.

Soumya Sarkar and debutant Mohammed Naim put on 46 runs for the second wicket but it was Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten innings of 60 that helped the visitors chase down the target with three balls to spare.

With the win, Bangladesh go 1-0 up in the 3-match T20I series against India. The second T20I will be played Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Thursday.

“Namaste Delhi, odd-even is beginning from today to decrease pollution. Please do follow it for yourself, your family, kids, and your breath. Share cars. It will extend friendship, form relationships, conserve petrol and contamination,” Kejriwal said in tweet in Hindi.

Breaches of the odd-even law will draw a fine of Rs 4,000. Over 600 teams of Delhi Traffic Police and the transport and revenue departments have been stationed for a stern implementation of the system over the capital city.

Under the system, which will be executed from 8 am to 8 pm till November 15, the two-wheelers and three-wheelers with registration numbers finishing with an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will not be permitted on the roads on these dates 4, 6, 8, 12 and 14 of November.

Women-only vehicles with kids aged up to 12 years and vehicles owned by physically-disabled persons will also be excused.

However, the vehicles of the Delhi chief minister and ministers will not be excused.

Bangladesh rise above the crisis to seal historic win

0

Not many saw this coming, which – admittedly on a day where more than 30 flights were diverted from Delhi – one couldn’t see much anyway, especially in the lead-up. Nevertheless, as the situation improved in the evening, a crisis-ridden Bangladesh without two of their top batsmen in Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. The win, being their first over India in T20 cricket, was a landmark one, but more than that it gave the visitors – reeling from off-field woes – a much-needed breath of fresh air.

The theme of India-Bangladesh T20Is, at least those in memory, was based on how Bangladesh come close, they almost have it in the bag, and then India steal it at the death.

Mushfiqur Rahim has previously been front and center in one of their heartbreaks. But there was some salvation in his roar which originated through the silence at the Kotla, after he was front and center of a memorable moment for Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s best batsman steered a chase of 149, responding to his captain’s call for more consistency from his batsmen just a day prior. And he dragged it off from a tense circumstances, just the kind that the tigers have been acknowledged to wreck.

It was a validation of his approach to take the game deep, which could’ve easily come into the spotlight had things turned ugly. Even more so considering how luck had smiled on Rahim like nobody’s business. Not only was he dropped at a crucial juncture, India even missed out on a couple of review opportunities for LBW appeals off Chahal.

All this happened during his partnership with Soumya Sarkar which provided much of the structure for the chase. However, although their stand was worth a significant 60 runs, it had also taken its time – 55 balls to be precise. With eight wickets in hand, going as far as the 17th over, a loss would’ve been hard to justify.

But the approach wasn’t unfounded. It was a pitch where every batsman struggled, going back right to the start of the Indian innings. Rohit Sharma’s first-ball boundary may have smashed any remaining concerns around visibility, but it wasn’t a sign of things to come. Shafiul Islam struck back in that very over to let India know the same – his nip-backer proving too good for the Indian captain who’s had issues with similar deliveries in the past.

There were further glimpses of how the pitch acted up at every chance, with KL Rahul – coming off some good form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy – finding it elusive here in his 17-ball stay, perishing to a ball that held up from leg-spinner Aminul Islam. Shikhar Dhawan held the innings along for as long as he could, without much dominance, but it wasn’t until the final burst from Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar – the duo smashing 28 from 10 balls to close out the innings – that the hosts found any momentum of substance.

The chase wasn’t plain-sailing for Bangladesh, as expected. Things were tight all the way through, right from the moment Liton Das punched Deepak Chahar straight to point in the first over. His opening partner in debutant Mohammad Naim didn’t offer much in the way of confidence with his hit-and-miss approach, which didn’t last long anyway as Chahal – who was right on top of his skills – outfoxed him with a googly.

That brought Rahim and Sarkar together, both finding the going tough against the duo of Krunal and Chahal, who raced through the middle-overs while also tightening the screws. But Rahim, in particular, ensured the boundaries kept coming to release the building pressure regularly, before he completely burst the bubble with his assault on Khaleel in the decisive penultimate over, during which he also brought up the half-century.

The pressure of having the win insight, combined with India’s winning know-how, has been Bangladesh’s nemesis in the past. It wasn’t so today. Today, they rose above it.

Pawan Kalyan to star in Telugu remake of Pink to be directed by Sriram Venu

0

Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s Pink has already been remade in Tamil with Ajith in the lead role. Now, Pawan Kalyan will lead the Telugu remake.

Actor Pawan Kalyan, who last starred in Agnyaathavaasi, is all set to take a break from politics and star in yet-untitled Telugu remake of Pink.

After the debacle of Agnyaathavaasi which released last year, Kalyan shifted his focus on his political career, leading to speculations about ending his acting career. Sources close to Kalyan have now confirmed that he recently watched Pink and felt it’d be an important film to remake for Telugu audiences.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the film on Twitter and wrote, “BIGGG NEWS… After remaking #Pink in #Tamil, Boney Kapoor joins hands with Dil Raju to remake #Pink in #Telugu… The #Telugu remake will star Pawan Kalyan… Directed by Sriram Venu… Pawan Kalyan was last seen in #Agnyaathavaasi [2018].”

BIGGG NEWS… After remaking #Pink in #Tamil, Boney Kapoor joins hands with Dil Raju to remake #Pink in #Telugu… The #Telugu remake will star Pawan Kalyan… Directed by Sriram Venu… Pawan Kalyan was last seen in #Agnyaathavaasi [2018].

According to a report by Cinema Express, Sriram Venu, who was recently signed to direct Allu Arjun’s Icon, will be donning the director’s hat for this Pink remake, which is currently dubbed PSPK 26. “Allu Arjun has agreed to start working on Icon after Sriram completes the Pawan Kalyan film. Similar to the Tamil version, Nerkonda Paarvai, the Telugu remake will have a fine balance between the social message and the commercial elements. Pawan has given a 20-day call sheet and the film is expected to go on floors later this year,” a source was quoted in the report.

To be produced jointly by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor, the Telugu version is likely to have dialogues by filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, a regular collaborator with Pawan Kalyan. Earlier, reports had suggested that Balakrishna would star in Pink Telugu remake but these now seem only rumors.

The Tamil version of Pink, which released earlier this year, starred Ajith in the role of a lawyer with bipolar issues. Directed by H. Vinoth, Nerkonda Paarvai went on to strike gold at the box-office with worldwide gross over Rs. 150 crore.

Pink, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in key roles, is the story of three women, who are aided by a lawyer in a molestation case against three boys from influential backgrounds.

It’s quite possible that you live in a house with a lot of kids who often snatch your phone to play games and watch videos. That’s probably fine by you, but you might not want them to peek into your WhatsApp chats.

Thankfully, WhatsApp allows you to lock your app with a fingerprint or a FaceID. WhatsApp enabled this setting for iOS back in February, and yesterday it rolled it out for Android phones.

You won’t need to register your face or fingerprint again when you’re using this function. WhatsApp will rely on the system-based biometric authentication.

Here’s how you can enable it:

For Android
Open WhatsApp.
Go to Settings>Account>Privacy>Fingerprint lock.
Turn on Unlock with Fingerprint toggle.
