Sara Tendulkar, daughter of the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar is in the news. She was reportedly harassed by a stalker who claims to have fallen in love with her. The man is a 32-year-old who is a native of Mahishadal in East Midnapore district of West Bengal has been arrested after making an official complaint at Bandra police station.

Debkumar Maity says he is in love with Sara after watching her at the pavilion during a match. He also informs the police that he managed to get the landline number of Sachin and made some 20 calls. So far, I haven’t met her in person, he said.

The Bandra police are likely to charge Debkumar with stalking, passing lusty comments and threatening statements. He is most likely to be produced in Haldia Court before shifting to Mumbai on transit remand. Police have recovered a dairy in his house where the accused mentions that Sara is his wife and even claimed to have married her.

However, family member’s version is different and they say, Debkumar is mentally not sound and is undergoing treatment for the past eight years. He also happens to be a college dropout and unemployed. The medical analysis will be done to determine his mental stability. Now all the mystery is surrounded around, how a mentally unstable person can attain the phone number of Sachin.

Pakistan’s opposition leader and Ex-cricketer Imran Khan on Sunday said that he had proposed marriage to a lady who is supposed to be a faith healer. He otherwise denied reports of his secret marriage with her.

In a statement given by Khan’s spokesperson, Imran Khan had proposed marriage to Bushra Maneka, who has “asked for time to make a final decision after consulting her family that includes her children”.

The notification said, “It is sad to see the extremely private and sensitive matter be made the subject of inaccurate story leading to all manner of public speculation”, it also added that it was “regrettable” the story was reported as it involves “a very private person who is not in public life”.

The spokesperson has said that it has put the burden on the children of Maneka and Khan who have had to learn of such a private and intimate issue from media”.

Imran Khan was in touch with Maneka for spiritual guidance, since two years that led to the marriage proposal. If this proposal is accepted, this would be his third marriage.

He first tied the knot with Jemima Goldsmith on May 16, 1995, that ended in divorce after nine years on June 22, 2004. While, his second marriage was with Reham, who was a TV anchor, but continued only for 10 months.

Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli created another record. He becomes the highest paid player in the history of 10year-old-IPL. After the BCCI introduced the scheme of ‘holding the players’ to their respective franchises, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) reportedly spent Rs.17 crores in an auction to hold back Virat Kohli. Previously, RCB was paying Rs. 15 crores to Virat Kohli for playing their franchise, and this amount has gone Rs. 2 crores in the latest auction.

The previous record was in the name of Yuvraj Singh, who was paid Rs. 16 crores by the DDL (Delhi Daredevils) franchise to reportedly hold him back.

With Kohli sitting at the top of the leaderboard for the highest paid, the former Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has acquired Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 15 crores. The vaccine ‘Typbar TCV’ is manufactured by Bharat Biotech of Hyderabad, India is approved by World Health Organization (WHO) is a highly effective typhoid vaccine which is the only one safe for infants too. Indian Cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan, along with his family started his South African tour. But he had to face an unpleasant situation to start with. His wife Ayesha and children were not allowed to board South Africa- bound Emirates flight from Dubai.

The airlines asked Shikhar Dhawan to submit the birth certificated of his children and other related documents at the Dubai Airport. The family were obstructed and weren’t allowed to fly as the documents weren’t produced. ‘The family is now at Dubai airport waiting for the documents to arrive, he told.

He expressed his anguish on Twitter over the unprofessionalism from Emirates. Dhawan Questioned, “Why didn’t the airline notify me before itself about such a situation when we were boarding the plane from Mumbai?”

The left-handed batsman is a part of the team for South African tests which are starting from January 5^th, 2018.

Overall to say that Dhawan is not at all impressed with Emirates Airline after he arrived in South Africa on Friday without his family.

The Indian team has arrived in South Africa, ahead of a tour, where India is expected to play three Test matches, Six ODI’s and three T20Is against the Proteas.

In a recent technological demonstration, Russian scientists demonstrated a unique breathing technology. The Russian scientists have developed an oxygen-containing liquid, which makes underwater breathing possible. The technology was demonstrated by Russia’s Deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin during the visit of Serbian President Alexander in Moscow.

In a video posted on a Russian website, a dog [dachshund] named Nikolas was put into the oxygen-containing liquid. The dog initially wriggled to free himself. But after the liquid got into his lungs, the dog relatively calmed down and started breathing. It was taken out after few seconds by the researchers.

Russian scientists are hoping that even humans can breathe underwater given their technological development. It is still unclear how long it would take for the technology to be available on a mass scale. This development is seen as ‘Russia’s preparation for the next World War’ by its foes.

In the 81 kg category in the 1994 Hiroshima Asiad, Lakha Singh won a bronze medal but now is leading a life of Taxi driver in Ludhiana. Not only Lakha Singh, many other champions who won medals for the country at the International platform are now doing all odd jobs today to meet their ends.

In the 90’s, Lakha Singh was India’s only ray of hope for medals in the field of Boxing. He was also a five-time National Champion. He won bronze in the year 1994 Asian Boxing Championship in Tehran and also bagged silver at 1995 Asian Boxing Championship in Tashkent.

Shocking to know, that Lakha Singh joined the Indian Army in the year 1984 when he was just 19 years old during anti-Sikh riots.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is undoubtedly the most awaited cricketing event annually. It is not surprising to know that IPL gathers more TRP than the prestigious ICC World Cup event. The ‘rich’ cricket league features teams as franchises, which are represented by Indian domestic players, Indian National players and international players. The IPL started in 2008 has already completed 10 years and is racing ahead.

Trying to replicate the same model, many test cricketing nations started hosting their own Cricket leagues. Few of them have been marginally successful. None of these leagues is even close to IPL in terms of the fanfare, crowd turnouts, sponsorship rights and money involved.

Even the South African cricket board, Cricket South Africa (CSA) planned a T20 cricket league called ‘T20 Global League’. The board wanted to host the inaugural T20 tournament starting from 3^rd November 2017 to 16^th December 2017. Given the financial constraints, a low bid by the broadcaster and title sponsor, CSA has forced to call-off the T20 league for this year.

If CSA hosts the T20 Global League in 2017, it could result in a loss close to Rs. 160 crores. Realizing this, the board took the decision to call off the tournament for this year. A loss of Rs. 90 crores has incurred to the board, as it has already paid the players, and for arrangements of the league.

The upcoming first test between South Africa and Zimbabwe will be a special one, given its special rules and regulations. A test match is scheduled for a 5-day cricket with 90 overs each day. The ICC has taken the decision to increase the number of over that needs to be bowled in 98 overs. The 5-day match will be now reduced to 4-day match.

Previously, excluding the lunch break and tea break between sessions, there used to be a 6-hour play on the field. To accommodate the extra 8 overs, 30 minutes are added to the day’s play. This takes the total play time to 6 hours 30 minutes

Another rule change was the minimum runs required to enforce a follow-on. In the past, a team needed to have a minimum of 200 runs to enforce the follow-on. With the change in the rule, 150-run lead is sufficient to enforce the follow-on.The test match is scheduled to be played form 26^th December – 29^th December. Being a day-night test, pink ball will be used to play.

ICC has given the option to conduct 4-day test matches until 2019 during a bilateral test series. It is heard that the BCCI [Board of Control for Cricket in India] is against this new format. This means that the Indian cricket team will not be playing any 4-day test match in the near future.
